I know it's n00bish to post this, but I'm so excited that I've been telling everyone! Today was mine and my boyfriend's first anniversary and he proposed!

OKAY! To answer all the questions~
We've been together a year as of yesterday.

Annnd the proposal:
He picked me up yesterday around 12:15 and took me to the little movie theatre behind the mall we work at to see Cop Out. That's where we'd gone on our second date, and it's become sort of a tradition to go there and see funny/dumb movies.
It was way past lunch time when we got out of the theatre and we were both really hungry- so he took me to Steak And Shake for lunch- where we had our very first date. He insisted that I order a strawberry milkshake this time because I'd asked for one on our first date and we had to leave before they brought it out to me. So we had our lunch together and talked for a little while during our meal, but he said that we had to eat pretty quickly because there was somewhere else he wanted to take me while it was still daylight.

On our third date, what seems like forever ago, Mathew took me to his old neighborhood where he'd lived back in high school. He showed me his old house and after we were done taking our impromptu tour, he pulled to the side of the road in one part of the old subdivision and let me through this little wooded area to a swinging bridge that hung over this gorgeous creek. We spent the whole day there talking and cuddling, and it was the first date we had that was really, truly romantic.

We also started sharing a journal not long after that so that we could look back when we're older and remember all the times we'd had together.

Yesterday, after lunch, Mathew drove me out to the old subdivision again.
He parked the car, reached in the back seat, and pulled out our journal before leading me back out to the secluded little bridge over the creek.
We stood there for a few minutes and just enjoyed the scenery and being together before he handed me the journal and asked me to read what he'd written for our Anniversary. He held me from behind as I opened it up, and he'd written about all that we'd been through together- the good, the bad, the crazy. I turned the page to see "I love you" scrawled across both of the next pages, and at the bottom corner it said that there was more, and to turn the page again...

In huge letters across both of the next pages, he'd written "I love you Virginia Elizabeth Edmunds, WILL YOU MARRY ME?"

When I turned around, he was kneeling with the ring held out to me, and he asked me himself.

I, of course, said yes. :D
