Nope, just sitting in front of my laptop, and not looking forward to tomorrow because I have to be up early >_>;

I feel for you Sally. I've had a cold the last few days on top of allergies. Oh so fun. LOL right now my boyfriend is at home waiting on me to get off work. I've got another 30 mins before I can head home for the night. I hate working the 3:30pm-11:30 pm shift.

@ Fading: Fun fun, I hope you enjoy your day of freedom. Any reason you have to get up early tomorrow?

I usually don't wake up until 11 or 12pm, so having to get up at 7:30am is a killer. :gonk:

@ Frixxy: That is a horrid shift. Where do you work? (If you don't mind me asking.)

I work at a video store, closing shifts mostly. Which can be harsh, I worked on Saturday and I had a group of people come in at 15 after close wanting to rent. They found it hard to believe we close at midnight. :sigh:


@ Fading: Eww, early classes are hell. I lucked out this semester, I don't have class until 10:30 most days. (I have one Saturday class at 9am... but I did that to myself.)

@Sally I work front desk at a hotel part time and an office job too. I'm at the hotel right now. At least you have a closing time, hotels never close 0_o

@Sally: Well, the upside of it is that I only have classes on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday...so I get four days of sleep XD

@ Frixxy: You have a point, it could always be worse. The hardest part I find at my job is passing the down time. During the week we have hours where no one comes in. You've got the internet to pass the time, I get to watch PG movies. lol.


@ Fading: I'm super jealous. I have class nearly every day. I get Sundays and every other Saturday off.

@ Sally: Yeah it's like that here too. You'll be incredibly busy or nothing at all will be going on. I read a lot then lol

Do you mind if I ask you two how long you've been here on Mene? I just joined and I'm curious if there are any tips or advice you might have?

I see that Fading is a Mod, does that mean you've been here from the beginning?

I'm just lazy. I could've gotten more classes, but I decided that I need the free time to sleep. Or I'd just pass out everyday in class anyway and fail them all...so I went for the minimum amount of classes required. :sweat:

I've been here for about 11 months, joined back in April last year :)

What kind of tips are you looking for?

I'm just wondering if it's worth it to get the CI's, or if you'd suggest getting into the RP games, or things like that.

I guess I'm asking what you do here, is it like Gaia where I should quest for gold or items, or is this place more 'friendship' and 'conversation'?

I've only been here since last October :) I think it's more friendship and conversation here than in Gaia. And personally I like the CIs and the EIs (Event Items)

If you like the poses from the CIs and think they'll make your avatar look better, then feel free to go for them. People here are more for conversations and making friends than being, "look at how expensive and therefore awesome my avatar is!" So even if you walk around forever in your underwear, people won't judge you for it.

I'm pretty much everywhere though, RP, games, general forums, so it's hard to say. To each their own I guess, some enjoy the games more than being in the forums, and some vice versa. :)

@ Frixxy: Can I ask what you think of Mene? I used Gaia for the longest time, but it's become more of a Status place now, how much gold you have, how many MC's, etc etc, and I'd really like to get away from that.

So far it seems like this place is nothing like that. Everyone is so friendly and no one cares what you're wearing (or not wearing) and everyone's just looking for people to talk to.

Is that a rather truthful description of the site?

Heh, it's true that Gaia's become kinda advertisment like lately and stuff but I still stick with it cuz I like some of the items...basically I'm just gaining pixels there too XP I'm really enjoying Menewsha so far, because I've been making friends, it seems :)

Yeah. I left Gaia for similar reasons as well...that and Gaia's been really horrible when it comes to dealing with banning cases. I've been waiting for nearly two years for them to unban my account, but I've never heard a word from them.

@ Frixxy: I'm 22, and I can't tell you how nice it is to actually talk with people instead of all the little kids trying to cyber or crazy things like that. I feel like that has kindof stuck with me however, I see people here who are 13 or 15 and I find myself slightly hesitant to talk with them. I really want to get over that, just because they are kids doesn't mean they can't hold meaningful conversations, right?
