Kiwi jumped. "Uh. No one," he lied, somewhat convincingly. He could always just use those twins from earlier as an excuse if Gavin wouldn't buy it--surely he would believe that, if nothing else.

Gavin chuckled. "If you say so man. You wanna keep her a secret, fine by me. I don't see how either of those ditzy twins would tolerate being lowered into a boat, so whoever it is must be a fine chick to try and bullshit your story like that. Relax, I won't tell. But curiousities sake, it's not the captains daughter you're meeting are ya?"

With a shrug, the young busboy let go. "Anyways, if you feel like chasing some skirts, I'm free now."

Kiwi was in a good mood now that his work was done, so he chuckled and decided to mess around with him a bit.

"Sure it's a 'her?'" he teased while examining the remaining people in the dining hall.

Rolling his eyes, Gavin nudged him once more. "With a ladies man like you? Please. If there's a person, it's gonna be a she."

Gavin winked at a girl passing by, continuing his walk with Kiwi.

As Kiwi headed out of the dining hall, he remembered something. He snapped his fingers triumphantly.

"Ah-ha! I remembered what I wanted to tell you," he informed him pointedly. "I found a girl below who works in mechanics. Basic maintenance. Think she's your type. She thinks I'm a prat, so I have no chance. Wanna head below and see if we can't find her?"

"What are we waiting for then? Introduce me allready dammit!" the man declared jovially, flinging an arm around Kiwi's shoulders. "Lead the way!"

Kiwi chuckled, poking him in the side. He headed towards the ship's elevator and examined it distastefully before stepping inside.

"I hate elevators. But I'm far too lazy to take the stairs," he grumbled, selecting the correct floor. "She should be down in the casino by now, knowing her. She gambles with the guys down in maintenance. And cleans out their asses, too. Never seen someone play like she does. I think she counts cards."

"Gambling huh? I like the sound of that." the man remarked with a grin before frowning. "You better not be putting me on man, or I'll kick your sorry ass!" he said, eying him as he poked his friend in a playful manner.

Kiwi chuckled and watched as the elevator reached the correct floor. He stepped out, glanced around, and immediately spotted his target. He pointed over to where a group of burly-looking guys were crowded around a table. In the middle of them, looking like she totally didn't belong with that rough group, was a young woman in a simple black dress, with short black hair and purplish eyes.



She did seem to be cleaning them out. They were cursing bitterly.

Gavin couldn't help but whistle softly. "Kiwi my man, you....have just made my day." with a clap on the back, Gavin grinned and wandered over to watch the fun, smirking at the grumbling loosers. "You're pretty good huh?" he remarked to the woman, leaning casually against the wall.

She looked up idly, eyes glinting--she seemed to be excited due to all the money she was raking in.

"Daddy dearest owns a casino," she informed him contently. "I grew up around gambling. As a result...I can clean out almost anyone. Special talent of mine, I suppose."

"Nice. Well, wanna try me on for size?" Gavin smirked, grinning in delight. If she accepted, it wouldn't matter if he lost or won, the results were bound to be interesting regardless.

She grinned in response. "Well, then. We shall see if you're a good fit."

She offered her hand in a friendly way. "They call me Deckle."

"Gavin." he said with a smile, lifting her hand to his lips and kissing it, smooth and elegant. Taking a seat, he grinned and gave Kiwi a thumbs up.

Kiwi seemed quite amused. He'd known when she'd stared at him and thrown her drink on him for calling her 'foxy' and teasingly reaching downwards to taunt her into thinking he was gonna slap her on the ass or something that she would be a perfect match for Gavin.

Deckle glanced over at Kiwi. "Ah, I see. You're friends with that prat. I spilled my drink all over him earlier for attempting to touch without permission." She chuckled. "Fruit punch looks good on him. He should wear more red."

"I'm sorry I missed it, I bet that was a great sight to see. The ladies man just can't seem to stay outta trouble." Gavin chuckled at the thought of him being splashed with juice.

The mermaiden continued to swim out alongside the ship, wondering when that whistle, that bell would sound.

Kiwi chuckled, quite amused. He perked up when he heard the final dinner bell ring, signaling that the dining hall was closed for the night, and remembered his promise.

He had to get some sleep as well as visit his new friend, of sorts. He wondered how he was going to do that, and he just stood there for a moment, thinking.

He finally uncovered a solution. Employees got some of the crappiest rooms on the entire ship, but they were just above the water...he could communicate with her through the single window in the room and possibly sit on the windowsill, dangling his legs outside, to do so. He knew his room was on the same side of the boat where he had first seen her...so that would work.

He waved at Gavin. "I'm gonna go get some shut-eye!" he called, grinning as he headed back towards the elevator. "Have fun!"

"I intend to, see ya in the morning!" Gavin waved goodbye, celebrating in his good luck in meeting the attractive, cool-as-a cucumber lady. With this, he turned back to face her and get the game going. He doubted he'd get much sleep tonight, but hey, with a girl like this in front of him, he wasn't likely to care.

The mermaid squeeked happily at the sound of the bell, swimming along the side of the boat to wait for her nice human. She wondered where he'd appear from this time.

Deckle started the game summarily when she saw he was ready. One could tell she was skilled just by watching her shuffle the cards, almost like a professional.

Kiwi headed down a flight of stairs to the employee rooms and searched for his, nearly forgetting what number it was. Once he located it, he dug for his key in his pocket, hoping he hadn't lost it. Lucky for him, he still had it. He opened the door and turned on the light, looking around.

Of course, it was sort of crappy. Tiny bathroom, tiny kitchen...okay bedroom. The window was half-blocked by a dresser, so he moved that to the other side of the room and opened the window slowly, annoyed by the loud creak it made. He poked his head out of the window, looking around.

"So,can I get you a drink? a wine or margarita or something?" Gavin asked casually, smiling as he watched her, obviously impressed.

Swimming along in the cool ocean, the creature looked lost and confused, where could he be. About to start chirping his name, she heard things shifting around, and then something unlocking. Spinning to see what she was sure would be a predator, she smiled as she noticed the man from before. "Kiwi!" she exclaimed joyfully, coming towards him.

"That would be lovely, thank you," Deckle chuckled, tossing the deck of cards from one hand to the other without them flying everywhere. It didn't really seem like she had a drink preference, at all...

Kiwi grinned and waved at her. He pointed to his waving hand. "Hi!" He was obviously trying to teach her this greeting.
