actually, he needs to drink the potion to turn into Yoko... although during the Sensui Arc of the show, when Yusuke dies, all three of this friends get pissed and chase after Sensui as he goes through the tunnel in demon world. With Kurama's sudden increase in power and spirit energy, he can turn into a half-form that looks like Yoko, but is still Kurama... otherwise, he need the potion to turn himself into his Yoko form.... o.o
Of course, each time he drinks the potion he has less and less time to be Yoko, because with each transformation, he retains some of Yoko's strength and immortality... and as said before, I'm sure that with time he would eventually find a way to turn into Yoko on his own... though I think that Kurama prefers being himself

not a problem... my knowledge of thoe show is fairly recent, as I rewatched the entire series only a few months ago. That and I tend to have a knowledge base on my favorite things, and Yu Yu Hakusho is one of those things, so I know a fairly good amount about the anime... I've never actually read the manga version... o.o

Yeah, me neither, I'm really thinking about picking it up though, it'd be a good refresher for this role play. ^_^

I'm not sure where I'd even be able to find the manga anymore... more than half of the... merchandise, that came out when the show was airing in America has long been out of stores.... I have the Trading Cards... and a lot of them... I even bought booster packs to try and get all the cards... but then I couldn't find them in stores anymore... all there was were Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon... and Magic: The Gathering, and stuff like that... but no more Yu Yu Hakusho.... Dx

OMG!!! I have those trading cards too! The only problem is that there's never anyone to play with. >.< I bought a bunch of boosters as well, you might be able to find more online somewhere... I know for the manga that a lot of them are still in the big book stores like Borders and stuff, or they used to be anyway...

yeah, an old friend of mine had bought one or two of the mangas but I hadn't thought to do the same at the time... though I had seen hers and looked through it, but the quality and feel of the manga wasn't quite the same as the anime... in my opinion...

Yeah, the manga seemed to me like it would follow the show directly and I enjoyed the art of the anime much better than the manga so I never really bothered either.

Yeah, for the most part the manga is alright, but the feel of it as you read along is very different from watching the anime... that tends to happen a lot when a manga is turned into an anime or the other way around... it's never exactly the same, and it doesn't always feel right going from one format to another....

Especially with the fight scenes... A lot of the things that they do are pretty elaborate... I feel like it would be hard to see the movement in the manga...

right, it's harder to try and drag out a fight scene in manga format because after a while it would get boring or at least annoying... a lot of the fight scenes would be a lot shorter than they are in the anime, I'm sure...

I have a lot of favorite episodes from the series, too many to make mention of right now... and most of them involve the other characters picking on Kuwabara...
although I can say what one of my favorite scenes were... I was when Kurama, Hiei, Kuwabara, and Botan needed to 'rescue' Yusuke. My favorite part of it was when they needed to use the 'seals' to make sure that everyone was alright, and Hiei grabbed Botan's wrist, threatening her, until Kurama came over and deftly put the seal on Hiei before he could react.... xD
It made me laugh...

Yeah, it's definitely really hard to chose a favorite episode. I'm not sure if I could even pick one out of them all. The seal thing was really funny. I appreciate the episodes with Kurama the most when he does things that are so unexpected. Like the episode where he plants the death seed in himself to defeat Touya.

And yeah... I've started reading through the posts and I have another technical question. Can Kurama communicate telepathically? I mean, Hiei speaks with him sometimes and in the episode with the fisherman, he was spoken to telepathically as well but those we people speaking to him, not him to them... I'm not sure if he has that power himself. Does anyone remember?

Umm, yeah, actually near the very beginning of the series, Kurama sends a message telepathically to Yusuke to inform him that he doesn't want to fight the Spirit Detective, but that he wanted time to use the Forlorn Hope to save his mom, so I actually believe that he can...

It's generally thought to be so, and like the example Akira gave, the manga has him telepathically communicate with a few characters, though there are plenty of times where he doesn't when it would be useful for a situation so I'm still kinda at a toss-up with it.

I still have the anime fresh in my mind, so I know for a fact that he used it to send the message to Yusuke, and even when Ura Urashima sends him a telepathic message, it's not a one-sided conversation, Kurama replies to him while still communicating telepathically, so... yeah...

I think it would be safe to say that Kurama can communicate telepathically, since there are so many situations where he has. As for where YYH takes place, I'm not entirely sure. D: I've always wondered that as well. I just figured it was in various districts of Tokyo.

Most likely... most of the setting is that of a city, whether it's Tokyo or not is something I couldn't tell you... not even I know that much... but for the most part, it seems a pretty accurate assumption...

As for the location, there was one episode during the Sensui arch where they go to a nearby city and the name of that city is stated I believe. Maybe it would clarify things if anyone remembered the city mentioned in that episode and looked to see if it actually existed on Google Maps or something... I'd check but I don't have my computer with me. >.<

Tee hee... thank you very much... yes, I am trying to be Yukina... I thought it would be cute... I was getting bored with my imaginative originality... as I sometimes like to call it... I usually make up completely random avatars that make barely any sense, but I thought, hey, let's try dressing up as a character from yu yu hakusho, and I picked Yukina..

And yeah, just reading everything that she's written, it even makes me feel like I've hardly even seen the show period, and I have... o.o
