I've decided that My favorite song to listen to after a breakup is
Quote:
I want a Woman
by RATT. It is one of the best songs from the 80's from a horribly under valued band.

I like the song even when I haven't just been broken up with, but in that particular situation it really works.

When you've just been broken up with what is your favorite kind of music to listen to? and of course what is your favorite song for the same situation?

"Gives You Hell" by the All-American Rejects was my go-to song after my last break-up. =3

And of course, there's always Coheed & Cambria's "Once Upon Your Dead Body" to vent after a particularly gruesome break-up.
Quote:
I hope you die right now, will you drink my chemical? And if you cry out loud, it'll only make me feel too good.

Either "After the Thrill is Gone by the Eagles" or "Agony is my Name by Rhapsody". Both of them, the name kinda tells which type of break-up it is.

Liar or I Know Where You Sleep by Emilie Autumn.
Assuming you're an angry sort of person, of course.

Lateralus or 46&2, or Reflections by Tool. it's kind of a reminder that there are more important things in life.

Nowhere Fast and There is a light that will never go out by The Smiths
Neither of them are particularly "fuck you" but they still suit my mood upon locking myself in a closet after a breakup

Personally, I also like I'm waking up to us by Belle and Sebastian
mainly because the guy wrote it so his ex, the cello player in his band, would have to be there to record it and sing the harmonies for his lyrics about how much she sucked and how terrible she is. XDD

This song is only for those who are still in love when they feel the need to break up because the relationship is going nowhere and they just keep hurting each other...
It's sung by a girl, BUT the lyrics are from the boy's perspective...
(It's in Japanese but has the translation in this vid)

Hahaha
I like Breakfast After 10 by Blue October. It's a good fun song. Sort of a 'screw her,' but not that direct. It's either from a friend to a guy who's lost someone or to the singer in third person, but both work. It's just a good feel good without being too bitter.

Oddly enough, that basically what happened between my and my last girlfriend. And this Saturday, were getting together with a bunch of other friends we share to celebrate her birthday. And that was a nice song.

Though, I think I would add Wild Rose by Rawlins Cross to my list. All because of this line really.
