This is a poem I wrote for my L.A. class. Hope you like it!! Comments and suggestions are welcome. :) (Sorry that it's long, my friend complained about the length of it when I showed it to her. XD)
Birds are chirping,
The sun shines brightly on me.
My friends are playingin the field,
But I choose to stay away.
Ally by myself,
I sat in the shade.
Reading a book,
Enjoying the silence and peace.
I declined their offers to join them.
For the reasons that-
Watching from the side,
Listening to the laughters from them...
It's enough for me.
Yet, happiness doesn't last.
Today I have friends,
Tomorrow they are gone.
They have been a pretender for a day,
And I become a stranger the next day.
I have tried to be a perfect friend,
But you had treated me as a complete stranger.
From now and then,
I often wondered;
Should I keep trying to be your friend?
Or should I be a stranger too?
Although not all become strangers,
Few remained as friends.
I found many temporary friends,
But to find friends that would stay...
It's as hard as finding water in the desert.
But when I have found them,
I know they are here to stay-
Forever, and as long as we need each other.
