Sirius trudged behind Raito as they continued on through the sewers in all its rankness. "I can't take this stench man. I still can't believe that this is one of our escape routes right now. Well at least no vamps and psycho-wolves can grab us, well not smelling like this anyway. So, Aruna did you see anyone up there like normal humans?" He knew that if she did, they would be following her right this moment. It hit him that there was a new guy who was now going to be staying with them. "Oh there is some guy whose going to be hanging with us. His name is Baltazar or something like that. Doubt you'll like him though." Sirius grimaced violently as he didn't want picture Aruna with another dude.

Aruna nodded her head groggily on Sirius's shoulder. "Yeah...there was a big werewolf that scared the crap out of me. And I was almost eaten by a vampire, but I guess that's to be expected when we go up there." She mumbled and opened her eyes, squinting into the darkness. That was probably the worst thing about the catacombs, besides the smell. You really couldn't see a thing unless you had a flashlight. "Baltazar? That's an odd name. Why don't you think I'll like him? If it's because of the name, then I think your wrong. Your name is a bit odd, but I still like you." She was rambling, which she tended to do when she was tired.

"It's not about the na... Hold on, you like me? Well this is a newsflash if I didn't know one." Sirius was elated when he'd heard about this new revelation as to Aruna's attraction to him, but his smile dropped quickly once she'd gotten on the subject of his name. "Um what the hell's wrong with my name? I love my name, it stands out among all the other ones." He shook his head and inhaled the nauseous scent of the sewer reluctantly as his eyes began to tear up. "Oh gaw, this is unbearable. That is it, once we get back I'm vetoing the use of this place." Keeping his grip on Aruna's leg, he pushed through the slime.

"Of course I like you." Aruna said and blushed, now glad that he couldn't see her face. She bit her lip, feeling bad for what she had said. "Nothing's wrong with your name. It's different, that's all. I think that might be one of the reasons I like you so much." She wrapped her arms tighter around his neck and looked down at the disgusting floor, glad that she didn't have to walk in it. "It really is disgusting down here. Hey, I think I see some candle light up there, Ruby left one going by accident." Aruna said squinting into the darkness.

Sirius was flustered and he went pale as a result of what Aruna told him. "So you do like me? Well what if, hypothetically speaking, I felt the same way about you?" His voice was even and his eyes remained focus on the poorly lit tunnel as he marched on toward their living quarters. "I also think that if there is nothing wrong with my name, then you should stop knocking it. There was a tense moment when he realized how harsh his response sounded and tried to make the situation move a little smoother by rubbing his chin on her hands. "Look I'm sorry, it's been a long day, I dropped my pack of cigarettes and I've been worried about a lot of things." Aruna pointed out that there was still a lit candle, so he walked over to it, blew it out and continued through the darkness.

Aruna felt her face heat up and she hid it in his shoulder. "Well, then," She paused and glanced up, looking at his face as he walked. "I'm not really sure." That wasn't a very good answer, but she really wasn't. She wasn't even sure why she told him that secret. The disgusting smell must have been getting to her. Aruna felt her stomach churn at his comment, hating it when he was mad at her. "Sorry." She mumbled but couldn't help a small smile when he rubbed his chin on her hand. "What's making you worry so much? Well, besides the horrible monsters outside." She asked him, completely ignoring the cigarette problem. Aruna always scolded him about smoking, and she knew that is she commented about it now, it would just cause a huge argument.

Sirius stopped short behind Raito and placed Aruna down, looking back at her. "Well I do, so there's no point in beating around the bush. He studied her expression calmly and saw that something seemed to be bothering her, but he wasn't going press the matter any further. He smiled when she apologized to him and shook his head quietly. "You don't need to apologize. I was just trying to see if you would defend your case, but eh." The rebel shrugged and wrapped his arm around her waist, giving her a smug look as he stared at her for a little while, but let her go when she asked what he was worried about. "I'm just worried about what would happen if something happened to any of my friends or other survivors, even if I do give off that harsh vibe.You know even down here, you look kinda cute. I'm not going to say anymore than that." Calmly, he kissed her on the cheek and stooped down to pick her up again.

Aruna felt her face turn a deep red as he wrapped his arms around her waist. But she couldn't help a small frown when he let go. She really wished he would have held on a bit longer."You don't give off a harsh vide. At least, not to me. And um, thank you. You're pretty cute too." She said and smiled at him. Aruna's face reheated when he kissed her cheek and she got back onto his back. "You have to quit doing stuff that makes me blush. It's embarrassing when you look like a tomato in front of a guy." She mumbled into his shoulder.

"What guy, Raito? He doesn't care, he's too sweet on one of our friends to care about us." Sirius smiled comfortably as he walked down the cave feeling like he was walking on air. "So what about me makes you think I'm cute? My rugged good looks, my roguish charm?" He continued down the path until they reached the end of the tunnel. "So you won't tell anyone about what happened between us?"

"Oh really? I'm sweet on someone?" Raito questioned, popping up next to Sirius. A barely hidden smirk stretched his lips, not like the two could see him anyway. They had been so wrapped up in their own world and had completely forgotten about him being there.

Aruna felt her head begin to swim and she blinked into the darkness. The horrible fumes must have been getting to her. Her eyebrows drew together at his question and she shrugged, but remembered he wasn't able to see her. "Um, I'm not sure..." She said quietly, hoping he would drop the subject. She had realized that Raito was still with them and she didn't feel like spilling all the things she found attractive about him. Though she knew that Raito was walking in front of them earlier, she jumped a bit when he spoke next to the two. "I guess so." Aruna said to him with a small smirk. She noticed that Sirius had stopped and looked around. It always seemed to her that the tunnel shrunk the farther they got into it. As she got off of Sirius's back, Aruna whispered into his ear, "Not if you don't want me to." It seemed to be the best answer. Though Ruby would probably pry and bother her until she finally cracked and told her everything. But she would try her best to keep her mouth shut. Once her feet hit the ground, it seemed like the tunnel became darker and she swore she heard a deep growl from above. Biting her lip, she moved closer to Sirius and kept a death grip on his sleeve.

Sirius nearly jumped out of his hoodie when he heard Raito's voice come from beside him. "Damn Rai, you can't keep pulling that crap..." He looked down at Aruna and then back at Raito, continuing his sentence. "You almost scared Aruna, then I'd have to beat you up." He smirked at his idle threat because truth was, he cared about Raito a lot, considering he was like a brother to him. He listened to Aruna whisper in his ear as her warm breath hit it. "I don't have a problem with being with you as .... an item, it's just Tawny and Ruby's constant badgering, I don't want to hear it. Just lets keep it under the surface for a little bit, then we can you know." He cut himself off in the middle of his sentence because Aruna came to a complete stop and she squeezed the living crap out of his arm. "Ahh, Runi what's the matter?"

Raito laughed softly at Sirius' comment, "I'd like to see you try." He quieted down and stood still, almost like a statue as he listened to the sounds filling the area. A growl suddenly filled his ears and his eyes darted to the ceiling, they were getting smarter those werewolves... "Hey, do you think you guys can go on ahead without me? I need to take care of something..."

Sirius laughed and punched Raito playfully in his chest. "Now what du..." He saw his compadre freeze up and he didn't know exactly what was going on, but he decided to respect his wish. "Alright dude, but you better come back in one piece with whatever you have to do. Runi, babe, lets go. The tunnel's not far from here." He grabbed her hand and walked briskly to the entrance to their home.

"of course. I always come back don't I?" Raito replied with a tight lipped smile before darting back the way they had come, there was another tunnel that branched off from there. It would be the quickest way for him to reach those werewolves before they reached a opening to the catacombs. He found that he didn't need a light to see in the dark anymore and his frown deepened, he'd need to get back soon, then he'd have to go visit that institution again. He was running out of medication...hopefully there would still be some left.

He peered out from the opening the ground. Eyes flicking left to right, quickly, scanning for any threats. When he still didn't see anyone he hopped out, landing in a crouch. He moved the covering back over the exit and carefull stepped out into the fading sunlight. Vampires would be out soon, he hadx to get rid of the wolves first and back underground before then.

Aruna bit her lip in worry as Raito left. "I don't think it's such a good idea to let him go by himself. He did, after all, try to get himself killed earlier and he might try it again." She said, her hand tightening around Sirius's. "Maybe it has something to do with all the bandages he always wears. Does anyone down here actually know why he wears them and why they always bleed?" She muttered to herself, taking a path that branched off from the main tunnel they lived in. The few tunnels that actually had small caves or alcoves, they used for 'bedrooms'. They weren't the best, but they worked for the time being. She reached the small cave that she had claimed and she sat down on the ground, her back on the wall next to the small opening. "Do we even know where Ruby or Tawny are? Oh god. What if they got caught by some of those wolves from earlier? I knew I should have followed you guys down instead of being such a coward. Oh god..." She muttered, picturing the girls hiding somewhere, hurt and bleeding. She crossed her arms on top of her knees and rested her head on them. "I hate this."

Sirius shook his head reassuringly, "He's going to be fine, Runi. Raito said he'd come back and he's a man of his word. So don't worry about it, okay?" He could tell she was tense about the situation, so he ran his thumb against the back of her hand. Aruna raised a good point, he'd never really knew why his arms bleeded so much. "No, I don't know, kid," he whispered. Following behind her after he let Aruna lead, he went into her alcove. She began to stress about what she believed happened to the others, but he knew what happened. "Sweetheart, they are fine. They were right behind me after I fell into that guck the first time around. Matter of fact, they are still here." He sat down next to her and put his around her, whispering in a gentle tone, "Look at me, you aren't a coward and we will get out of here, I promise you that." Sirius grinned impishly and moved over to where their shoulders met.

Such a pain. Raito realized. The more he interacted with these so called monsters, the faster the venom/whatever it was they had gotten into him reacted. He had just gotten rid of the werewolves. His mere presence had gotten them snarling at him and after a bit of a tussle, where he managed to get cut across one cheek and another bite on his arm, they scampered off, finally figuring out what he was, the one that had bitten him whimpering as the vampire venom in Raito's blood burned his mouth.

He turned and dropped back into the catacombs as the last bit of sunlight finally disappeared over the horizon and he pulled the cover back over the opening, dumping more sewage over it to mask his still somewhat human scent. After finishing the cover up he dropped to the bottom of the ladder, landing in a crouch before slumping to the ground, his clothes getting soaked with sewage water. He leaned his head back against the ladder and closed his eyes, breathing slowly as his thoughts whirled through his mind. He had to come up with an excuse to go back to the institution building...

Aruna looked up at Sirius and bit her lip. If the girls really were down here, where in the world were they? And wouldn't they be able to hear them if they were? She sighed, not wanting to bother him with her worrying. She rested her head on his shoulder and breathed in his woodsy scent that had always calmed her down. Holding his larger hand in her small one, she traced patterns on his palm. "Where do you think he went?" She asked him. Raito had always made her a bit uneasy. By all the bandages he wore, she thought that he might collapse suddenly and never wake up. Which made her even more worried now that he was alone up on the surface.

He couldn't come up with anything so Raito slowly climbed to his feet, the smell was starting to get to his head. He placed a hand on the wall to steady himself, doing his best to ignore the wetness that he felt and moved in the same direction he had come in a couple of minutes ago. His progress was slow, hopefully he would be able to get back before anyone saw him so that he could bandage the bite he had gotten.
