She also trained to be one of the best fighters around, and as such is good with a sword, knives, bow and arrow, or any other combat weapon she could get her hands on. She also trained extensively in different fighting styles, should se be caught without a weapon. She's worked for Ares all her life and still doesn't always get along with him.

Name: Callyx
Age: 25
Race: Demigod
Appearance:
Brief history: Callyx was born and raised in Greece. He didn't know he was a demigod until his 18th birthday, though he's always been able to do certain things that no human can. When he found out, he learned as much as he could about demigods and what he was and what he could do. He's only spoken to Poseidon, his father, a handfu of times, and the most recent was to tell him to get to San Diego to meet up with a small group of people like himself.
God relations: Son of Poseidon

Nika shifted her weight as she stood at the airport, waiting for one of the others to arrive. Ares had popped into her house last night and told her she needed to host a few others for a little while, two demis and one partial like herself. She'd ranted at him for a few minutes before she agreed, and had spent half the night cleaning.

Still grumbling about that, she glanced over at the arrival board with her inhumanly blue eyes, her brows furrowed. A few humans around her skirted away from her, and she settled back in to wait for another twenty minutes until the demigod's plane landed. She crossed her legs after a minute, butter-soft black jeans fitting well to her lean frame but not constricting her. The tank top, the same blue as her eyes, got her a few strange looks from passers by, since it was the middle of winter, but she didn't care. This was her standard attire, after all.

Callyx shifted a little in his seat as his plane came in to land. He didn't know who else would be there, just that someone would be expecting him and that there would be others. What others, he didn't know, and he wasn't sure he wanted to. But he was going to find out anyway, whether he liked it or not.

He took a deep breath, shifting and fidgeting as the plane descended. He'd always hated flying, and now he knew why; Poseidon and Zeus rarely ever got along. And since the sky was Zeus's domain, it wasn't a great idea for him to fly very often. But he'd been told he would be safe, and this was the fastest way to get to the United States. He attempted to settle back in his seat to wait the next ten minutes or so out, until he could get off this flying metal death trap.

Althea yawned some to herself, as she watched the decent from the sky down to the ground, it was interesting watching the sky pass you by like it was. This wasn’t the first time she had ever been on a plane, but this was the first time, she felt so anxious being on one. She was going to live with people; she didn’t know at all, she was going to have to stay with them. It wasn’t that she wasn’t looking forward to it; she just hated the fact, that she had no idea what was going to happen. She didn’t know if the people were going to be like, or if they would get along.

Once the plane finally reached the land, and they were able to get off, she took in a deep breath. There was no going back now, she had to go, and she had to deal with it. Once she was off of the plane, she glanced around at all the people there, at least it didn’t seem like that bad of a place. Once she looked around at all the people she noticed someone, alone, who was probably who she was supposed to be meeting.

Zarek sighed as he waited for the plane to touch the ground; he hated planes and avoided them as much as he could. But now he had no choice but to go on one and he really didn’t want to be on them. They made him worry, after all they sometimes didn’t make it to their destinations and he really didn’t want to be part of plane crash that would suck. Once he felt the plane touch the ground, he let out a huge sigh of relief; he had made it there safely. Not much scared him, but he really didn’t like planes at all, they were just something he didn’t like.

Once he stepped off the plane, he was grateful to be on ground again, that was his favorite place to be on land. After everything he had to go through to get off the plane and what not, he looked around for the person he was supposed to be meeting, once he spotted her he smiled a little. At least he had found her without problems. He started to walk over to her, hopefully all would go well, hopefully.

Nika waved to the first of her three guests, motioning him over. She looked him over quickly, an automatic scan for weapons, before she smiled a little at him as he approached. The other two wouldn't be getting there for another few minutes.

"Hi. My name's Nika, and I'm your tour guide/hostess/house owner for your stay here in San Diego," she said with a bright, somewhat forced grin. "Let me know if you need anything." Hey, Ares had told her to play nicely, but he hadn't said no sarcasm. And she was only a little teeny bit sarcastic and bitter.

Callyx looked around when he felt someone else like himself as he was getting off the plane. He saw a young woman leaving and headed after her, frowning a little. Yes, she was definitely at least part god.

"Excuse me," he said softly in gently accented English. "You look familiar. Have I seen you anywhere before?" That was a lie, but it gave him time to look her over and assess the strength of her powers, to see how much of a god she was.

Althea looked at him, when he talked to her, no he didn’t know her. And there was no way she looked familiar to him at all, what was he getting at “Well your seeing me, right now, right here” She said. He didn’t say when he had seen her, but the fact he had said familiar meant, that he thought he had seen her before “I’m afraid you don’t look familiar at all” She said.

Was he trying to figure out something? She could tell, he was like she was, and he seemed decently strong. Was he trying to assess her? Probably. All well, she didn’t care let him assess her all he wanted; they were going to have to spend quite a bit of time with each other. Though it already seemed like, they didn’t trust each other, all well, only time would tell what would happen.

Zarek looked over the girl, trying to figure out how powerful she was, and just how much ‘goddess’ she had in her. “Zarek, pleasure to meet you” he said with a soft smile. She may have been sarcastic towards him, but he was staying at her house, so he didn’t exactly want to set her off. He would really like to be able to sleep through the night without worrying about being killed by someone. “I take it the others aren’t here yet?” He asked

He wasn’t sure why he had even agreed to this, but it seemed like he didn’t have much choice, he was basically told he had to go. All well, maybe it would turn out to be fun? Although he doubted that, he wasn’t fond of the idea of being around others like him, especially ones he didn’t know.

Callyx nodded. "Sorry. My mistake." He held out his hand with a smile. "I'm Callyx." He couldn't figure out how exactly to introduce himself as a demigod to her, so he just let her figure it out. After all, if she was as powerful as he thought, she could probably tell what he was.

Well, at least she was pretty. And she seemed more agreeable than most people would be if he'd come up to them as he had. Maybe he could get along with her after all. His smile got a little warmer, a little more genuine.

"Not that I've seen," Nika said with a short sigh. "Sorry if I snap at you, in advance. I tend to do that sometimes. Explosive temper and combat training and all that good stuff. Plus Ares isn't exactly a warm fuzzy ball of fur."

She paused for a moment before a slow grin stretched across her face. "Although it would be hilarious to see him as a kitten." She snickered at the mental image. Ares, a cute defenseless harmless little kitten? Never going to happen, but epically fun to think about.

Althea nodded some, he didn’t seem so bad really, fairly nice actually “It’s alright” She said with a soft smile. “Althea, pleasure to meet you” She said as she took his hand and shook it. She was right, he was pretty powerful, probably on the same level as her, if not stronger, she was guessing he was a demi-god, like her, but she couldn’t be completely sure of that.

Maybe this trip wouldn’t be so bad, she could see herself getting along with him, he seemed really nice, and wasn’t that bad. “We should go to the person, so she doesn’t think we got lost or something” She said with a smile.

Zarek smiled some, he was looking forward to meeting the others, hopefully they weren’t evil and didn’t try to kill them or something “It’s fine, I understand, after all we are intruding into your home” he said. She had the right to snap, she was getting three strange guests she had never meet coming to live with her, and there was nothing she could do about it.

“I don’t think Ares would appreciate being compared to a cat” He said a bit dumbfounded by what she had said. He could hardly believe she had said she wanted to see him as a Kitten, although it probably would be pretty damn funny.

"Yes, I suppose so," Callyx agreed, a faint smile hovering at the corners of his lips. "I doubt it would end well if she left without us. Although hopefully she knows this airport, because I have no idea where to get my luggage."

Shaking his head a little, Callyx started walking, making sure she was keeping up with him as he started to look around for their guide.

"I don't have the best relationship with Ares," Nika said, still grinning. "He's too sadistic to like properly, and we get on each others' nerves every time he visits."

Still amused, Nika waved to the other two when she saw someone else searching the crowd. "Looks like my other two guests have arrived. Then we'll go get all your stuff and go home to figure out what the Hell we're supposed to be doing."

"Well she lives in this town so she should know the airport" She said. Or at least she hoped she did, if she didn't that could mean trouble for them. She nodded some and followed after him "She's over there, ya'know" She said as she started to walk towards the girl

Once she reached her she gave her a smile, and held out her hand "Althea, pleasure to meet you" She said. She didn't want to be rude, and not introducing herself to her, would be pretty damn rude especially since she would be living in there house.

"I don't think anyone would really have that good of a relationship with him" He said with a small laugh. He couldn't imagine anyone having that great of a relationship with Ares it just didn't seem possible, at least to him anyway "Well, that just means you two are close" He said. Often the people you loved the most, and were closet to got on your nerves the most.

"So you don't know what were supposed to be doing either?" He asked with a laugh. When the other two walked over he studied them over, they didn't seem to have any harmful intent, but he could tell, they were stronger then him.
Still amused, Nika waved to the other two when she saw someone else

"I would hope she knows," Callyx muttered, walking with Althea over to Nika. He waited politely for the two to get their introductions out of the way. "I'm Callyx."

"My name is Nika," she said, shaking Althea's hand, and then Callyx's. "You'll be staying at my place, and I can give you whatever info you need, except what we're supposed to be doing. Apparently we're not supposed to know that yet." She shrugged.

"Anyway, I figured you three might want to get your luggage, so we'll do that and then head back to my car. Sound good?" Nika glanced between the three of them to see if there were any complaints.

"Sounds good to me." Callyx shot her a smile, hoping to keep her in a good mood. He could tell she wasn't just some pushover, though she wasn't as powerful as himself or Althea. But she looked like she could handle herself in a fight, and that made him just a little wary of her.

Once she had shook her hand, she pulled it away. She seemed nice enough at least, but she could tell she wasn't really someone you wanted to mess with "Well, that's nice, drag us here, and not tell us anything" She said. She really didn't see why they couldn't know in till they were all together.

But at least she had offered to help them, she seemed nice which was important. "That sounds fine with me" She said. She was interested in seeing the house she would be staying in, very interesting in deed.

"I'm Zarek, pleasure to meet both of you" He said with a smile. Although he made a mental note to keep his eye on those two, who knew what they could do. He would just have to trust them for now, after all he was sure they were all called here for some greater purpose. Part of him wished he was human, so he didn't have this kind of responsibility and part of him was glad he did

"That's sounds really good, thank you" He said with a smile. He hated how airports worked getting luggage it was annoying as hell.

Nika nodded and led the way through the airport to the luggage claim areas. She managed to grab a cart for them to put all their luggage on so they wouldn't have to carry it all the way out to her car.

"Alright, folks, just grab, haul, and drop." She grinned briefly, a rather sadistically amused grin, and managed to get them a prime space right at the curve of the luggage merry-go-round.

Callyx glanced warily at Nika before he nodded and kept an eye open for his lugagge. The first thing, a duffle bag, came through and he hauled it off the lugagge machine, putting it on the cart. He glanced at the others before he kept looking for his suitcase. He really just wanted to be out of here and going back to her house, wherever that was. It sounded much nicer than here; but then again, just about anywhere sounded nicer than the airport.

Althea nodded, she knew how luggage in airports worked and she hated it. Nika was lucky she didn't have to worry about it, she was glad she had only brought two bags, enough to live by. If her father had, had his way she would have brought her whole room, darn worry wort he was. Once her first bag rolled around, she lifted it up and put it in the cart, she had traveled a lot over the years and was good at this.

It wasn't long after her first one came out, the second one came, thankfully the second one was a lot smaller then the first. She lifted it up and put it in the cart, there she was done thank god

Zarek sighed as he waited for his bag, and this was why he hated airports. They were annoying, and everything about them just made them more and more annoying. He smiled some when his bag came around, and lifted it and put it in the cart. Thank god, he was almost done with the airport and if he was lucky he wouldn't have to come to one for a longlong time.

The ironic part was, he was a descanted from the god of wind, and he still didn't like airplanes, maybe that was because he knew just how testy and un predictable and strong wind could really be.

Callyx put his suitcase on the cart as well and then turned to look at Nika when he was done. He just wanted to get out of there. Sure, his father was master of the seas and didn't get along with Zeus, and he really liked staying on the ground and being in control of things. Ah well. He wouldn't have to go on a plane again for a while, and hopefully this girl's house would be suitable to fit them all.

Nika glanced at them all. "All done? Good. Let's go." She kept hold of the cart, pushing it in front of her and leading the way out of the airport and towards the cars. She was parked closer than most people could get, but since she was such a frequent flier the airport staff knew her well.

She unlocked her car, a nice minivan that was useful for occasions such as these, as well as hauling around corpses of mythical creatures. She put all the luggage in the back, letting the others get settled in before she shut the trunk door and got in the driver's seat.

"Where do you live, exactly?" Callyx asked as he buckled himself in, having claimed the passenger seat. He liked to be able to see where he was going.

"A little ways outside San Diego. It won't take us long to get there." Nika started driving, pulling out of the airport carefully before she got onto the freeway and started driving faster.

Althea followed after Nika, and got into the car. She just wanted to get to the house, and see where they would be staying. She wasn't fond of the idea, of staying in an unfamiliar house, with people she didn't know at all. Then again she would have to get to know them. Once the guy, whos name she had heard was Zarek, got into the car, she casted a glance at him, and studied him for a second before she looked out the window. Hopefully it really wouldn't take them to long to get there.

Zarek had felt her eyes looming over him, either she didn't like him, or she was just being overly careful, he was hoping it was the second one. "You really have no idea why we were all called here?" He asked as he looked over at Nika. It seemed strange that they would all be called together. They were probably going to get sent on more missions, which meant more airplanes, oh the joy. Why couldn't they be like birds who could fly, that would make matters so much easier.

[olor=indigo]Nika shrugged, switching lanes easily. "I'm not sure, but I have some ideas," she said after a moment. "I've noticed an increase in the number of creatures in the past few months. Normally I only have to go run errands every two weeks or so. These past few months Ares has been sending me out almost as soon as I get back from the previous mission."[/color]

"So what do you think it means?" Callyx glanced over at Nika, eyeing the spedometer nervously before he settled back into his chair. She drove very fast, but well.

"I'm not sure. I'm not sure I want to know." Nika's eyes narrowed and she pulled off the freeway onto a country road, and from the country road onto a private driveway almost half a mile long. She parked in the long, circular driveway in front of her house, which was two stories high and very scenic.

"Welcome to my home."

Althea was interested in what she was saying, so they were going to be doing work, and it wasn’t some sort of field trip. But she had known that much, from when her mother told her she had to go. When someone like her, tells you to do something, it’s probably not for a very fun reason. Once the car came to a stop she got out and looked at the house “It’s very nice” She said as she looked over at Nika, it was a nice house and she wasn’t going to be rude.

Zarek listened to what she said carefully, even he had noticed some more incidents in his home town than usual, maybe something bad was happening “So it sounds like, were going to be helping you take care of these missions, and whatever’s going on” He said. That didn’t sound so bad, maybe it could actually be fun, not to mention he was sure it would be bad if the creatures were left to roam around. He was happy once they pulled up to the house, and he was able to get out of the car.

"Thanks," Nika said with a little smile aimed towards Althea. "I have no life so I figured I might as well be comfortable." She shrugged and headed to the front door, fishing out the correct key as she walked.

"Oh, I hope you all like animals."

"What kind of animals?" Callyx followed Nika, curious. He liked animals, sure, but that didn't mean he wanted any or wanted one slobbering all over him. He could do without that, thanks very much. Hopefully there wouldn't be any big, slobbery dogs.

"A few cats, two dogs, a rabbit, and a snake." Nika unlocked the front door but didn't enter immediately. Instead she put her hand on the doorframe and murmured something in ancient Greek. Then she stepped through and motioned the others inside.

"Animals?" She asked. She wasn't fond of most animals, in fact the only ones she liked were dogs, she loved dogs. Everything else she could live without, especially cats and anything, dangerous.

Great, she had a few cats and a snake, hopefully she wasn't going to have to spend to much time in the house. She nodded and walked inside the house, at least the house was nice, that was good, she was just hoping the animals would leave her alone.

Zarek looked at her and smiled "A snake? That's awesome" He said. He had always loved Reptiles, but his mother would never let him get one, because she was afraid of one. He would have to ask later on, for Nika to show him it.

Once he was inside he glanced around at the inside of the house, it was just as nice and beautiful as the outside of it.

"The cats you probably won't ever see. They hate strangers, and they're all skittish around anyone but me. The dogs are out back right now, but they're both very friendly. And the snake is upstairs in his room, so unless you go into his room you'll never see him either." Nika shrugged as she kicked her shoes off, landing them perfectly in the open hall closet.

"Feel free to take off your shoes and get comfortable. I'll show you to your rooms first, and you can relax a bit. There's food in the fridge, and I have sodas, juice, water, and alcohol if you want anything to drink." She headed through the center of the house towards the spiral staircase.

Callyx nodded and followed her, hoisting his luggage a little higher. Hopefully he'd be able to get settled in and not have to worry about anything yet. Just relaxing for a few minutes sounded good. So did showering. Or jumping in a pool. Either one worked for him.

He followed Nika up the staircase and stopped when she did. The first room was decorated all in blues with some green thrown in.

"You can stay in here." Nika nodded to Callyx, pushing the door open a little wider.

Good, she wouldn’t have to see the cats, or the snake, that worked out perfectly fine for her. Hopefully she wouldn’t get lucky and the cats would like her that would suck. She was looking forward to going out and meeting the dogs, they sounded nice.

“Thank you” She said when she said they could make there self-comfortable, and what not. Although she would probably never be comfortable in this house, after all it wasn’t really her home, it was someone elses. Once she started to head up the staircase, Althea followed after her, bringing her suit cases with her. At least she would have time to get used to the place.

“Are we allowed to go see the snake?” Zarek asked as he followed her, carrying his luggage with him. Relaxing and getting use to the room was more important to him right now, but he wanted to go and see the snake, it sounded awesome. She seemed nicer then she had in the airport where she had been a little bit snippy to him, and sarcastic but now she seemed pretty peachy, maybe she had some sort of split personality.

"Sure, if you want." Nika shrugged. "You can take the next room, Zarek. And your room is across the hall." She opened the door to Althea's room. "Like I said, get comfortable and whatnot. The library is downstairs, the dogs will be inside shortly, and the snake is in the room at the end of the hall."

Turning, Nika left them to get comfortable and settled in, at least as much as they could, and headed downstairs again. She didn't like having strange people in her home; it went against her nature. But she'd rather deal with them for a short period of time than have Ares pissed off at her for months. Sighing, she went over and let the dogs in, a black lab and a Siberian husky. She played with both of them, grinning as she watched them running around.

Callyx sighed and set his things down at the foot of his bed. He took his shoes off before draping his jacket on the bed, looking around. This place wasn't so bad; it was kind of like staying in a hotel, actually. Just a hotel with animals and a kitchen and a somewhat tempermental owner. He did have to wonder about her; she'd seemed the weakest of them all, and she seemed to have temper and personality issues. Oh well. Not his problem.

“Thank you” Althea said once she pointed out her room. She walked into the room and set her bags down on the floor and closed the door behind her. At least if someone wanted to come in she would hear the door open, even if she was sleeping. She glanced around the room and studied it, it didn’t seem so bad, and it was decent.

At least the room was decent; she wasn’t sure what she thought of the other people. The boy she had talked to didn’t seem so bad, and she wouldn’t mind getting the chance to talk to him again, but who knew if he wanted to talk to her again. Once she was done looking around the room, she walked over to the window and stared out it, the scenery was beautiful, picture perfect as some would say.

Zarek’s smile brightened some when she mentioned where the snake was. It was funny he wasn’t looking forward to this trip at all, but maybe it wouldn’t be so bad after all. He was just hoping it was fast, he wanted to get home, and be with his family and friends. It wasn’t like he didn’t like the people here they seemed decent, they just weren’t the ones who grew up with and they couldn’t replace his friends and family.

Once he walked into the room, he noticed that it wasn’t that bad. It was nice, and it wasn’t to small either, and at least they didn’t have to share rooms which each other which was a huge plus, he didn’t want to have to share a room with someone.

((I have a black lab and I've taken care of a Siberian husky several times. I've always wanted one ^^))

Nika spent a good half an hour playing with the two dogs before she let them wander around downstairs. They weren't allowed to go upstairs until bed time, and they knew it. So she let them run around and amuse themselves while she went into her office.

Ignoring the books on mythology and the stacks of papers and sticky notes, Nika went straight over to her computer to check her e-mail and see if she had any new information. Ares tended to pop up and tell her in person, but he had been known to leave an e-mail or a phone message. Stupid prick.

Callyx took his time stretching out and getting comfortable. He explored his room before he checked out the other rooms. There were two bathrooms on the upper level that he could find, meaning two of them would have to share. Oh well. Nothing could be perfect, he guessed.

Getting bored quickly and not content to just sit and wait and watch, he walked over to Althea's room and knocked softly. He didn't want to disturb her if she was busy, but he was bored and she'd seemed nice enough.
