"...What the hell is this?"

Kasimir's tone was reproachful, caustic...quite bitter. It seemed Nero was not exaggerating when he spoke of his brother's hatred deep down for humans.

Nero cleared his throat. "...He was in danger. I rescued him. So, he is to live here, with me, now," he replied, steadily.

Kasimir grumbled, then went back to his cooking, careful not to disrupt anything in the kitchen despite his having a tantrum about this. "Fine. If he looks at me the wrong way, I will not hesitate to kill him."

Nero shifted in front of Okashi slightly, eyes narrowed.

Okashi nodded at the threat. ...whoa...Nero was right about his distaste for humans... He understood the threat. It was one he had heard many times before when he was in the process of being sold. He tried to block the memories, but instead let them pass and them opened his eyes again to see Kasimir cooking again. He looked up at Nero with a 'what now?' glance.

Nero chewed his lip for a moment and then glanced at Kasimir. "We'll be in the dining room. Will you be ready, soon?"

"Yeah, sure," Kasimir muttered. "Whatever floats your boat. Scram."

Thankfully, Nero walked through the second doorway in the room and into the dining room, which was lavishly decorated. The table was also set beautifully. Nero sat down in one of the chairs and ran a hand through his hair.

Okashi followed Nero silently into the wondrous dining room. ....whoa...such elegance....so much beauty... He looked around and stopped when he saw Nero sit down. ...hnnn...not the chair.....a pillow?.... Okashi looked around wondering where he was supposed to sit. ....dogs do not eat at the table... He looked quietly while Nero ran his hand through his hair.

Nero noticed the confused look on his face after a moment. "Oh...here." He pulled out the chair next to him. "Here is fine." He stole a glance back into the kitchen, where Kasimir, happily distracted from the fact there was a human near him because of his cooking, was placing everything on a large cart, which he was going to roll out into the dining room.

Okashi just looked at Nero. ....In the chair?....If he tells me then fine... He moved closer and sat next to Nero. He saw Nero look off at his brother. "How do I not 'look at him wrong'? Anything I should not say in particular if asked about?" Already planning on not saying much in his presence, he didn't want to say something wrong. If he died it would be his own fault for doing something stupid.

"Just...try not to look at him too much. If you do, don't look him in the eye...not saying a lot unless talked to would be good, too--I don't mind, but..." Nero trailed off, watching as Kasimir walked into the room.

Kasimir wheeled the cart into the room and set everything out on the table. Cooking was something he enjoyed. "Here. Eat up." He sat down, as far away from the two of them as possible and, without any sort of word in their direction, began to shovel food onto his plate.

Okashi nodded his understanding. ....Okay....don't look....no eye contact...speak when spoken to...like .....Master..... Okashi shuddered as Kasimir entered the room. He waited as He ate for Nero to get his food before getting any himself. ....Others eat before me.... He sat patiently looking at the food cart a little ways from Kasmir for Nero to get his food as well.

"You can get your food," Nero murmured to Okashi, kindly. He seemed to be a rather kindhearted person, whereas his brother was a bitter old crow. "It's all right." Nero reached out for food himself and quietly began to pile some of it onto his plate.

Kasimir wolfed down his food ungracefully. It felt like there was a dark cloud over his head.

Okashi nodded silently and reached up to grab the food closest to him. He piled his plate till it was covered. "Looks so delicious...." He accedentally spoke.(sp) He ducked his head a little and began to nibble a peice of bread to start with. .....even for bread...nothing this good... He thought to himself about the horrid moldy food he had been given over the years.

Kasimir looked taken aback that he'd spoken without permission, and stared at his brother. "...Nero."

"Shut up and eat, Kaz," Nero retorted, calmly. "He can speak whenever he wants to speak. This is my house. Your cooking is wonderful, by the by..."

Kasimir opened his mouth to retort, and then fell silent. He continued wolfing down his food.

Okashi flinched under the pressure of Kazmir's look. ...I didn't mean it, but it was so good... He continued to eat calmly, watching his plate empty slowly. He focused on the textures of the foods as he ate.

Nero reached under the table and patted Okashi's arm in a gentle manner, as if to say 'Don't mind him. He's always been a grouchy old man.'

Luckily, Kasimir missed this exchange and therefore did not rant about it.

Okashi slowly ate the wonderful foods on his plate. .....hnnn....Nero is so kind....Kasimir is....so different in comparison... He looked at a tiny pastry in his fingers. ....such detail....so beautiful...shame to eat it... he thought as he placed it in his mouth.

Nero adored his brother's cooking. If there was one thing Kasimir could do without fail, it was cook a wonderful meal. He ate like he was in a dream, slowly and reluctantly, like he was afraid to eat it too quickly.

Kasimir kept his eyes on his plate, clearly disgruntled about being near a human.

Okashi smiled in Kasimir's direction. ...I hope he can see past my being a human..... He smiled to show he meant it when he said the food was good. He held a bite of food in his mouth still holding the fork in a manner that was unintentionally cute. ....It really is good...wonderful flavors....aww....i think i'm full....but there is so much good stuff i haven't tried!... He put the fork down and looked to Nero. He didn't want to speak, but he was finished eating and would like to leave to table to start some kind of work.

Kasimir didn't smile back. He did look up, but he seemed more irritated than anything else. He was a bad-tempered man, but loved his friends and family. He didn't want this human to end up hurting his brother, or anyone else.

Nero noticed that Okashi had stopped eating. "Full? If you want to do something, you can clear some of the empty plates here and wash them. You do not have to..."
