i personally am very disappointed in the conversions they do between the books and movies, they really should have included things like:

Peeves, OWLS testing, Gringotts winding trails, all those things they just forget about!

I missed Peeves and the OWL tests, too :C Among the others but hey at least they're better adaptions than.. Ella Enchanted, right?

I agree there are alot of things i feel they should have kept in Harry Potter(Peeves is definitely one of them), but i think Yamisho is rite it was better than Ella Enchanted.

I am mostly satisfied. I want to stat a petition to remake the 5th movie. with the 3rd, they messed up the order, but I like both orders.

I actually liked the fifth movie, though while the end of number six was sad it was quite cheesy and I couldn't take it seriously.

I liked both the movies and the books.

I did notice that they left some out of the movies, but I think it would be pretty difficult to include every single detail and still have the movies be a reasonable length, considering how much happens in the books and how long they are. I wouldn't really mind watching an extremely long movie if it was Harry Potter, but I think people who aren't fans of the books probably would dislike that.

I don't really mind the little changes, though. They managed to leave the main plot basically the same as in the books, which sometimes gets changed in movies. The movies also make sense by themselves, which I've noticed a lot of the time isn't really the case with movies based on books.

I don't normally base my opinions on movies totally on how well they adapted them from the books, though. Although if it's a book I really like, I am usually somewhat disappointed if they change anything major or any parts that I especially liked, but I normally find myself enjoying the movies regardless if they're well-made.

I love both movies & books .
I read the whole book series (took me a LONG time)
& I have the whole collection of the movies at my house (still waiting for the 7th! :3)
I have to say that, yes, the movies do lack about half the book .
But hey, what do you expect ?
Movies are regularly about 2 hours long, and you can't imagine that they'll put every important detail in there .
I'm pretty sure that the author didn't want to leave out Peeves, Owl testing, etc.. But it was necessary, so they could fit in the important stuff.. Voldemort, Death Eaters, Sirus Black, etc..
At least the movies have the main point of each book .
But yes, overall I do like the books better .
Even though the majority of people who watch the movie, say that the movie is better (because they're too lazy to read the book).

I read the books before I saw the movies. And thankfully I'd forgotten most of the first book, by the time the first movie rolled around.
I honestly liked the movie all by itself, and the book all by itself.
They do have to leave some things out, and change some things because it's an adaption, and not word for word remake of the book. If they made the entire book into the movie, it would probably be twice as long, and people are too impatient to sit through that.
The books were wonderful, with a whole new world created and I could actually see it in my head. So both had their appeals to me. :)

Though I think Rowling sort of gave up at the ending of the 7th book. As in the epilogue. u_u

I hope we get to see more of Tonks in the 7th movie, because her roles so far haven't been that long..or great.

I honestly really disliked the ending to Half blood Prince.
Mostly because they cut and added a lot of thing the book didn't have.

Peeves would have been great in the movies. More quidditch, and not just against Slytherin. o: I think they still leave too much out, and while I get they can't make the movies insanely long, it just seems like they're ruining it. O: I'd rather read all the books then see all the movies. Not sure how this last one will turn out, while I like the two parts since it'll have a lot - having to wait will be annoying unless it's a double feature the second time. o.o

Yeah, there were a lot of things I'd have loved to see too. I'm glad the seventh book is being split into two films. :) Twice the book material!

I know as far as movie footage goes, it was useless, but I'd really have loved to see the gnomes in the Weasley garden.

I hate these transitions!! Well, I hate movies 4-6, because they forgot about so much... The Sorcerer's Stone was the best movie, because I can only think of one mistake and it was a really small, almost invisible one. They got progressively worse after that, but Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban were fine.
