I was browsing through youtube and I came across these videos, they are for the new Mickey Mouse/Disney Game that is to be released this year. I didn't know they were developing a new game. So here's the trailer for it:



It doesn't really tell you anything.. So here's another, I think it may be the opening for the game, so I'll but it in a spoiler:

I'm getting a Kingdom Hearts vibe from the game, considering you have those purple hearted monsters called the "Forgotten" (I believe) in this game, and you have the heartless in the Kingdom Hearts Series. Hopefully this game will not just feature on Mickey Mouse, and have some cameos from other characters from other films?? (Maybe that's too Kingdom Hearts-ish)

There was also a statue in the trailer that I presume was to be Walt Disney? So I don't know what that means. Hope the game is good.

Are you looking forward to it?

I've known about this game for a while. I plan to get it. It has nothing to do with Kingdom hearts, which i'm glad about, but is about old school mickey mouse and some other Disney characters plus some forgotten ones. The game is also kinda dark. You go around with a paint brush. All in all I think it's going to be pretty good.

When you say forgotten ones, is that like super old ones?

Maybe characters like... Pete? xD

Anyway I just found out about this the other day, but apparently my boyfriend heard about it at E3. My first thought when seeing the evil things were "Heartless!!!" but they really aren't. I dunno why they decided to design them so much like the Heartless though.

I must say I'm very excited to see the end product of the game. =)

I am SO EXCITED for this game. Not that I'm a biased animation student or anything...*whistle*

Seriously, though. My friend and I noticed an ad for it in our Design class back around...march or april? And then I started looking it up more and it looks pretty cool. I never got a Kingdom Hearts vibe from it, actually. And I love the fact that Disney managed to get Oswald back for the game. Talk about a forgotten character. 0.0 The rights had been stolen away longg ago, actually leading to Mickey's creation. *hurray for History of Film/Animation class*

Can't wait for its release. :D

@Wynna: The statue is Walt Disney. It's the classic statue from the Theme parks where he's holding Mickey's hand. Except that obviously isn't Mickey. It's Oswald!

HappyStarr: Oswald? Who's oswald? I know that before the name Mickey was given, they were using Mortimer. Now I'm going to go look up Oswald.

Oswald was originally a character created by Walt Disney when he worked for Universal. After the character proved successful, they wrote up a new contract and signed on Disney's old artist, Ub Iwerks, along with Les Clark. Disney, obviously, got mad and went off to create Mickey. Oswald's been with Universal for a while, but I guess in more recent years Disney got him back and now they have a way to use him. :D

And, I somehow don't think they realized the Forgotten would look like Heartless. I get the feeling they were shooting closer to home on those character designs.

Why'd you have to go and post Oogie Boogie? Now I'm going to have to listen to his song at least 5 times.

:lol: Because I'm a crazy diabolical mastermind set out to get Oogie Boogie stuck in people's heads! Bwahhaha! Orrr because I thought he shared some resemblance to the second Forgotten in the video in the Spoiler tag. >.>
