I've actually seen most of them, now. I've been watching them obsessively for the last few weeks. I just haven't seen End of Time or Season 5 because they're not on Netflix yet.

Well, I mean of the revival. I'm not really planning on watching the old episodes.

Haha, nice. I also obsessively watched all of the new series when I first started watching two years ago. :D
The old series is actually really good, the little I've seen of it, and most of the people I know who've watched it, or parts of it, really like it. It's obviously different from the new series, but better than I'd expected.

I know, it's overwhelming, isn't it? x___x I decided to just start at the beginning and slowly work my way through it, haha. So I've pretty much just seen a few of the very first serials. They're a bit slow, but otherwise quite good. And all in black and white with adorable special effects!

XD Adorable is kind of a funny word to use for special effects. It's like my grandmother's tendency to use the word "cute" when she has nothing good to say.

"That's... cute, dear."

Well, they're from the 60s. So they are adorable. Just like early Star Trek. >.<

I haven't seen any old star trek episodes either. XD Or any star trek episodes. I did see the new movie, and I liked it.

At first I thought it was just a more realistic sonic screwdriver than the plasticky toy ones they sell for kids to play with but this is actually functional. Not like I have ever changed a plug or saved the universe.

Hallo Cami. Glad you've enjoyed what you've seen so far. =)

My flatmate came home with a friend so I disappeared for tea and toast with them.

I've been watching Star Trek: The Original Series. It is amaaaazing. Seriously. I hadn't seen any of it either till I saw the new film, fell in love with it then and decided I'd start watching the series.. from the beginning..

TOS is probably the version of Star Trek I've seen the least of. At some point or another I think I've seen most of The Next Generation onwards. XD

It's sonic screwdriver day!

I do this odd thing. I absolutely love sci-fi. I love almost everything Sci-fi I watch or read. But I also have this English major snottiness towards sci-fi. So I'll be all, "Oh, that's clearly not worth watching" until I actually watch it. <<,, Then I love it.

I grew up watching TOS.
Then TNG.

After that, everything went downhill, and the subsequent series just couldn't hold my attention.

I must say, the cast of the movie did an excellent job at capturing the personalities of the original characters.

::fangirls over Karl Urban::

Ahem.

@ Connie: Yes, they did. At first I though they wouldn't be able to pull off the same magic as the original actors, but they did it. When I was watching that movie, I felt the same magic as with the original Star Trek. It was an amazing rendition!

Aaand the next movie is coming up next year! :squee:

What? I've been hearing next year. Are they being asses and depriving us of the magic that is Star Trek?

Old Doctor Who has a couple of films, but we're talking about the Star Trek film that came out last year.

The old Doctor Who films have a certain charm to them.

I haven't seen the new Star Trek film yet. The kid who plays Chekov is cute mind.

I'm still not sure what I think about the latest Star Trek film. I think it was quite enjoyable and the characters were good..but the plot was just incredibly poor. Hopefully the sequel will be a lot better in that regard.

Useless bits of trivia:

Anton Yelchin, who played Pavel Chekov in Star Trek, has also guest-starred in Criminal Minds (Sex, Birth, Death), and played the title role in Charlie Bartlett.

Karl Urban, who played Doc McCoy, played multiple roles on Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Roles included Julius Caesar and Cupid.

Here's yet another useless bit of trivia:

Also on Criminal Minds, Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker) guest-starred on there one time. As the villian.
And Star Trek TNG was on right after.

I'm officially a moron. :gonk:

Fraker was also the voice of David Xanatos on Gargoyles.
