As the application of a person's limited experiences and understandings to people from other cultures is by definition ethnocentric. Something which you have been consistently doing throughout this thread. If you will note, in my previous post I was careful to clearly position the understandings of magic within the culture they come from. Although in retrospect I could have more clearly positioned them by giving details of the anthropologists for whom I was drawing from.

Well yes, from another's point of view they could definitely say I was being ethnocentric as I do not have those experiences from other cultures. When I said I was aware, I meant in knowing that it was out there-- but I was trying to be inclusive in a politically correct way trying not to offend anyone-- but I have come to this conclusion regarding that issue, and I have come to realize that it really doesn't matter what you do, someone can always scrutinize one's words and still take offense, so I am going to continue to explain things the best way I know how without blatantly offending folks- but if they do-- then it's too bad. I only have my own personal experiences that I can validly testify to which are my own personal experiences; as from other cultures, my knowledge is limited as I have not met anyone from another culture to share them with. Which if that were the case, I'm very open minded to learning thier system of beliefs as far as magic is concerned. Yes, call me out on that-- I'm really not sure if you are trying to point out a flaw for a specific purpose, or you're just pointing out the obvious which I already know and willingly admit.
