: OOC Chat Long ago, when the earth was still young, there was a darkness. This darkness fed from the earth’s people, making them lifeless and gray. Then, one day, the darkness wasn’t there anymore, and the people were happy again. Nobody ever knew what happened to the darkness, and eventually the darkness was forgotten…
The darkness spoken of was taken from a book, found separated into pages and shoved into the walls of an English castle behind a loose stone. What people don’t seem to realize is that this story was more fact than fiction, coming from the diary of a castle servant nearly a thousand years ago.
This servant wrote of the “Dark Ages” near 476 A.D, and not the dark ages that most scholars talk about as being the fall of the Western Roman empire, these ages were called dark because they were ruled by the darkness, a name given to an evil so great that people dared not speak his true name.
The darkness was sealed away nearly one thousand years ago by seven divine warriors do driven by their dedication to the light that they were given the power to trap the darkness behind a great, unearthly gate called the ‘Essence Gate.’ The seven divine warriors are as follows:
Sir Rowan (the lion hearted) – The mighty and noble knight that first began to battle the evil by gathering the other six divine. Fought shadows with his strength while the darkness was being defeated with magic
Ellyn and Alys – Twin sisters that were banished from their home kingdom for practicing magic (though they were benevolent) and were then invited to join the Divine after Rowan learned of their power and used incantations to push the darkness into the gate that Father Gaunt opened
Hadrian de Grey – a butcher of unnatural size and strength, said to be descendant of giants. Fought off the shadows with Rowan while the darkness was being sealed away
Isolde of Cleves- a healer, and midwife with strong abilities to cure the sick and wounded that seen almost god-given
Father Gaunt- a holy man that used his divine power to call upon the Essence key and seal the darkness behind the gate.
Oliver- Rowan’s squire, used his quick thinking to distract the beast with a burning arrow long enough for him to be trapped by Father’s power and Alys and Ellyn’s incantations
These warriors received the Essence key once the gate was locked and divided it into seven equal parts. The shards were then disguised as ordinary objects, so to be hidden from those that might seek to release the darkness from his tomb.
Now, more than one thousand years later, the shards have been passed down to the descendants of the Divine, and not one person on earth recalls the darkness that once was (nobody ever bothered to write it down). But a new evil has arisen, tied to the darkness by a bond of the soul, commanding the shadows, and determined to find the shards, unlock the darkness, and rule the earth with its power, killing the descendants or not... They call this evil ANDERSON.

A thousand years after the darkness was sealed away, a man that everyone merely called Mr. Anderson sold his soul to the darkness. In turn, he received immortal life, and command over the shadows, creatures born from the grey people of medieval times that feed from the auras of living humans, but only if he managed to collect the seven shards of the Essence key within one hundred years.
Thirty years later, the seven descendants of the Divine warriors were given their inheritance, still unaware that they hold the key to unlock a great evil, as the story passed down had been forgotten, or twisted into seeming like an unbelievable fairytale that mother's used to get their children to eat vegetables or go to bed when they are told. Anderson seeks to collect these descendants, their Aura's, and the shards of the Essence key that they posess.

If you pledge your soul to the darkness, or have your aura devoured by a shadow, you will become a shadow when you die
Pledge your soul and become immortal, fail in your debt to the darkness in collecting the Essence shards and die.
The essence shards can be disguised as anything that's not electronic, think about it, did they have ipods in medieval times?
It's a first come first serve for the divine descendants, but anyone can still join. Remember that when there is darkness rising, it doesn't just touch the lives of the people it seeks only, it affects everyone that comes in contact with it, be they special or not
when your aura is devoured, the shadow that devours your aura will gain your special abilities IE: unusual speed, intelligence, and other things
Anyone can be a descendant,(blood does not determine your gender!) so boys can be descendants of girls and vice versa. Being that from the medieval times to present day, the Divine probably had many descendants, but only the first seven applicants that request to can be the heirs of the Essence shards

Personality: He's a bit quiet when out of his element, but otherwise a playful boy. He's a good listener and tries to help with anything he can.
Likes: purple things, different types of books, and sweets. Preferably Mike and Ike.
Dislikes: Hates cold places, absoute darkness since his imagination can go wild, suspenseful movies and fighting, since he prefers to be on the defense side.
Bio: Born in a family of one, has a very loving mother and father. He's always hidden the fact that he could have been a bit different from his parents. Found out about his however many greats grandmother from researching his lineage. To his utter surprise, and amazement he found out about Alys and her sister, and about all the others. It explained a lot of things about himself. But now he just has to wonder if history would repeat itself again, as it tends to creep up on you when you least expect it. Since then, he's tried to get a little better with his 'powers' in secret. As for the shard thing, he's always worn it, so keeping it with him was not a problem. He's just glad it wasn't a necklace or something silly.

Personality: Blaine is the sarcastic guy of the bunch. He doesn’t think too highly of people with massive authority, but if they are close to him, he’ll cut them some slack. Also he is kind of lazy.
Likes: Apples, relaxing, and keeping his sword on him.
Dislikes: Working hard, training too hard and being without his music.
Bio: Blaine is an only child, even though his family is huge. He was always tall from the time he started preschool to his entrance to high school. Blaine is tall and slightly muscular compared to the rest of his family. People always thought that he’d failed if they didn’t know him from his childhood. The time came when Blaine turned 16 that his parents was told him that he was a descendent of Hadrian de Grey. His initial reaction was that he didn’t believe them, but they actually traced their bloodline. From then on, Blaine’s father made him train as much as possible.

Personality: Aiden is probably the opposite of what you would expect from a descendant of a holy man to be like. He is usually quiet and has a cool, intelligent demeanor about him. What does your shard look like?: It was set into a large and sturdy steel ring with an intricate design on it. The shard itself is a sapphire color with lighter blue pinpricks running through the stone.
anything else: Aiden puts up a "tough guy" front but really just wants some sort of companionship in his life. He has two pieces of work on his body. Two dragons. One on his Lower back, while the other is on his shoulder coming down onto his chest.

No problem at all. I understand how it is. At the moment most of mine are at a stand still or on the verge of dying off. Which sucks because I was really enjoying the ones that I had going.
