Looking for a small group to start a private Greek gods/goddesses role-play.

All members must have a good knowledge of the Greek gods, I will not settle for the censored, inaccurate information they give you in grade six social studies. So those of you who think Heracles was born from Hera and Zeus, put the Disney film down and pick up a book.

For now the plot will remain secret, once 3-5 people think they would like to join, the plot will be revealed and we can begin.

Depending on how the RP goes, OC slots may be available, but not many will be open, I would rather keep just the gods/goddesses involved.

In order to join this role-play you must be literate and post a reasonable amount. Use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation, as if writing a book. Additionally, write a minimum of 3 paragraphs- a good way to spread your post into 3 paragraphs is by using dialog. If your level of literacy is not acceptable, you will not be allowed to join.

Well, if you're willing I could play Eros, Hera or Hermaphroditus if you're OK with lesser-known deities. I have some knowledge of the Greek pantheon but I'm not an expert, so if I'm not aware of a story point I can research it.

Ooh! This sounds fun~ I'd be interested in joining this! :P I don't really have a major preference over who I would roleplay as. Would it be okay if I waited to see the plot before picking a character?

I would prefer if you played Eros, but that doesn't matter because it's your choice what character you want

ok...one problem.artemis and selene are-in most mythology-one in the same.but i guess...well,i'll look it up.i think the earlier myths and legends have them seperate.

In most mythology Selene and Helios are titans, Artemis and Apollo are olympians of the next generation.

Selene and Artemis are often assumed to be the same because they are both associated with the moon, however Selene is the goddess of the Moon, and Artemis is a goddess of the moon. Artemis is, however, the goddess of the hunt.
I think in Roman mythology, Diana, counterpart to Artemis, is also the counterpart to Selene. That could be where the confusion comes from.

Helios drives the chariot that pulls the sun, and Apollo... doesn't do much I don't think. He plays Music and chases Nymphs.

But Helios and Selene are twins, just like Apollo and Artemis, another details that sort of molds them together.

Edit; I stand corrected, Helios and Selene are not Titans,they are the children of Hyperion, the Titan of Light. Their mother is the titan Theia.

Apollo and Artemis were born from the union of Zues and Leto

I have premades for like... one major olympian, a god alot of people don't know even exists, and Pan, that's about it.

so what do you know about Zeus? and why do you want to play him?

I know that Zeus was the one who saved his brothers and sisters from Cronus's belly and there mother hid Zeus for he was the only hope for the Gods of Olympus he grew up on an island where he trained and when he was ready he then saved the gods. Hades got the Underworld, Poseiden the Sea, And for Zeus The Sky. I want to play him because he was almost kinda the start of the story of Greek mythology and I feel he is very important to the story.

Can you play the realistic Zues, the one who was an uber-slut, and rather self-centered, or the grade six 'hero' version of him?

Because Zues kinda screwed his brothers in the game where they chose who got to rule what, most versions of the tale says he cheated.

ahh yes i will be great at that, so is this the same original story just re-told a bit more modern or what
