Though it rained and stormed a young woman walked quickly through the streets this night. Her name was unimportant to humans, it was her eyes they hated but no matter how many times they forced her from the town or threatened to burn her she still returned. They'd never actually burn her or touch her for that matter. No, they were too scared of this practically defenseless 5', 99lb woman.

It was her eyes, even in light as dim as the starlight on a clear winter's night her eyes would glint and reflect the light on the ground or where ever she happened to look. If she looked at the night sky, at that moon, her opal colored eyes would shoot the light right back from her in hundreds of impossibly bright bouncing rainbows, like a cut gem.

Tonight, despite the clouds and the rain, she still kept her gaze on the ground to block the light from the lightening. She couldn't risk anyone recognizing her as a seer right now. It was dangerous for her to be out here alone on a night like this but she had late night errands to run, people to see. Who would want to talk to her? Other seers of course, for Khanna, though she hated it and wished she'd never been burdened with this curse, was the best of the best of all seers in the world. She was the only one in existance with reflectivity in her eyes so bright that it actually magnified the light going in before bouncing it back out so star light would be bright as if she were looking at a fire from just outside the ring of light.

She went to the first seer and cursed them when what they needed could only be found at night on a night such as this in fact and she was the only one who could out and find it. Cursing them once more she turned towards the road leading out of the town and stomped her way to a blank field then on towards the trees, searching for a thunder bloom.

The thunder boomed and lightning cracked lighting up the bare field. A small girl sat hunched under a tree, her arms wrapped tightly around herself as the rain soaked through her clothing. This girl didn't belong to a home or a town. She had been on her own for years. She was finally getting tired of that which was why she had stopped just outside of the capital. Her hazel eyes stared blankly at the field and the city beyond it as the water dripped off her eye lashes. Her pale hair clung to her face and neck as she sat still in the cold rain.

The girl wondered how long the rain would last or if it was even worth waiting outside the city. nothing good ever came from cities. Just more people to look at her strangely and ask her too many questions. Movement in the field caught her attention and she watched as a woman entered the field. I wonder what she is up to...she wondered and then she saw the reflective eyes. I've never seen those before. a grin crossed her face. Maybe this city will be interesting after all.

The small woman made her way to the trees, not looking up until she was in the shelter of the forest and even then she shielded her eyes with a hand when the lightning flashed before her hand fell once more to her side and she kept looking around for the tell-tale glow of of the thunder blossom. She looked for long minutes amongst the tree roots before she turned her gaze down toward the entrance of the forest to search for one there but what she found instead tore a scream of fright from her throat and sent her tumbling to the wet mud of the forest floor as she quickly tried backing away.

She was panicking slightly about who or what she'd just seen, thinking they would attack her now that she's seen them so she focused on fighting her way back to her feet in the slippery mud, almost getting to her feet once only to slip back down into the mud. Eventually she gave up and stayed where she was, her gaze hesitantly searching for the small humanoid figure it'd flashed upon earlier, half hoping it'd been her imagination.

It wasn't their apearance that startled her, no, she couldn't see the person's features proerly in the single blinding flash she'd gotten off them in the dark, it was the simple fact that she'd come into the trees, expecting to be totally alone only to find someone seemingly waiting for her in the trees. She feared her days of the villagers fearing her eyes had come to an end, that she'd been betrayed by her own kind and sent out here to die.

The girl beneath the shelter of the trees sat still as the other woman approached. Then her eyes got wide when she watched the woman's reaction to discovering her. She slipped and fell as she tried to scramble away, it was as if she was afraid. The fear in her eyes was over whelming and gave the girl chills, was she tat intimidating?

The girl slowly unwrapped her arms from around her knees, careful to move slow, she had no intention of harming the woman, hell she was just happy to see another face she had been alone for so long. she crawled through the mud slowly to where she could get on her knees and the next flash of lightning lit her up. She was a teenager, not quite filled out as a woman should be. Long pale hair was plastered to her face from the rain. Hazel eyes stared at the woman curiously from above a freckled nose. The girl was covered in mud, her old clothing was thin and torn as it clung to her tiny frame.

She opened her mouth to speak but it had been so long since she had last uttered a word, nothing came out. The girl tried again, her soft and quiet voice was barely audible over the pounding rain and thunder. "Are you alright?" she asked as she sat back on her knees and tried to move a wet lock of hair from her face.

The small figure stayed in the mud for a moment more, staring at the sparkles that scattered from her uncovered eyes when she didn't find the figure again, it was hard to see in this dark, even with the help of the light from her eyes. She wanted up out of the mud but it was too slippery and she fell once more, scrambling back another few feet as the person she'd seen before was lit up next to her.

What she saw instantly calmed her and she let herself still, "You.. You're just a girl." She said in shock, looking for a knife just in case. It took a moment for the question to reach her and she took another to answer it, "Yeah, I'm alright." She said, crawling to a patch of moss to stand up.

She dusted herself off with shaking hands only to get her self further covered in mud and with an exasperated sigh she looked up again. The other girl had doubtlessly seen her own face just as clearly as she'd seen hers. Her own features were soft, angelic, and her face rounded but not chubby, normally framed by her long auburn hair which was currently sticking to her face, neck and chest. Many people took her by her angelic looks and thought she'd be timid and quiet. "Why are you here?" She asked without looking back where she'd last seen the girl.

THe girl got to her feet and wiped her muddy hands on her old pants. She watched as the other woman tried to hide her eyes. She had never seen anyone with those types of eyes, but she could understand why. She wiped her pale hair back away from her face, smearing mud across her face. She watched how flustered and nervous the woman seemed.
"I'm sorry if i scared you." she said quietly. She felt guilty for ruining the woman's clothing, she was quite beautiful and probably valued her appearance. The girl however could care less, she didn't own much, she was just happy if she had food in her stomach.
At the woman's question, she shrugged. "Nothing really."more rain dripped from her long eye lashes as she stood there in the open. "But that's because i have no where to be. You must have a home, why are you out here in the rain when you could be inside where it's warm and dry." she shivered and wrapped her arms around herself. Her clothing was drenched leaving little to the imagination of her body.
She frowned. "And so what if i am just a girl." she seemed to pout childishly but half of it was a show.

The woman nodded, "It's alright. I know you didn't mean to do it, I'm paranoid as it is." She responded, taking her cloak off and set it around the girl's shoulders when another flash of lightening showed her the state of clothing this unknown female wore.

At the question the woman turned to pulling her hair from her face and chest and twisting it into a wet bun, "I'm looking for somethign for a friend. Her father's very sick and theres something she needs that only blooms on nights like this. I'm trying to find it for her." She said honestly, looking her over again before glancing back into the forest before closing her eyes, listening to the thunder for a moment, "I didn't mean to offend you, miss... The people of that town down there hate me because of how I look, they want me to die and I thought that the'd finally decided to take care of killing me when I saw you."

The girl was thankful for the cloak offered to her, but the gesture of kindness surprised her. Most people wouldn't give her the time of day and here this woman was being very kind. She watched as the woman pulled her hair back revealing her beautiful features. In the back of her mind, the girl silently hoped she'd be beautiful like that some day. Her head cocked tot he side when she heard that the woman was looking for a unique flower.
"I can help you." She tried to speak up. "I saw some strange looking flower a few hours ago, it is probably what you are looking for." She figured it was the right thing to do, she did scare this woman half to death only to receive kindness from her afterwords.
She looked around trying to remember where she saw it, but paused when she hear the woman's comment about the people of the city. She looked back to the woman, who still tried to avert her eyes. Were her eyes the cause of all the fuss? Yes they were quite unique, but why would someone want to kill her over something as little as pretty eyes?
"That is exactly why i avoid cities." she sighed. "People tend to act rather stupid towards people who are different." she gave the woman a small smile before she turned. "That flower i saw was this way."

Kana nodded to her, "Thank you." she said softly when the girl offered to help her, almost smiling. It'd been a long time since anyone offered her help of any sort but the girl's response to her got an odd look in return, a deep frown in her heart shaped face.

"Pardon me if I'm prying but why should any human hassle you? You seem to be a perfectly normal girl, a bit rough looking at the moment but nothing that can't be helped by dry clothes and food, and, in fear of offending you, a right bit of cleaning up. Given the proper chance you'd turn out to be a fairly pretty girl." She was too busy trying to find something about the girl that humans would reject to watch where she was placing her feet and stepped on a sharp stick, cringing her teeth as it cut through the leather soles of her shoes and allowed water to fill the shoe with sick squelching sounds.

She shook her head and got back to the problem at hand, "That odd flower you saw, did it glow?"

She turned around and looked at the woman with a small shrug. "I'm not to sure why people don't like me. I just get hassled everywhere i go so i avoid people." She admitted, but it was the truth. She always got stared at no matter where she went. She never really knew the reason why, maybe there was just something about herself she didn't know but everyone else seemed to see.

After looking around again she took a few more steps and knelt down moving a bush out of the woman's view. "A glowing flower." She grinned up at her. "I knew i could help you find it." She moved out of the way to let the woman closer to it. She didn't have any particular interest in the strange flower, but when she stood up to let her closer, she smacked right into a low hanging tree branch. She clutched her face as she stumbled back to a seat in the mud. "Well that's a downer." she mumbled. She she pulled her hand away she couldn't really see out of her left eye and the tree had left a nice cut through her eyebrow, across the eye and onto her cheek.

The woman frowned a moment, "How odd of them to do so. I'll say that you probably will get ignored in the city down there. They have bigger problems to stare at." she followed her to the flower, amazed that she'd actually noticed the small glowing white bloom. The closer the Seer got to the bloom the more fidgety she got and the brighter her eyes glowed. "Thank you." she said softly, smiling at the glowing flower.

As she stepped toward it she noticed, purely through sound, that the girl hit her head and quickly plucked the bloom, setting the stem between her lips to free her hands and help the teen up. She pulled the flower from Herr mouth to ask, "Are you aright?" holding it so the glow lit up her face, wincing sympathetically, "Neverrmind." she said, the soft light having answered her question, "Come with me. You need to have that eye fixed." she told her, putting up the hood of the cloak she'd given her and taking the only clean portion of the cloak to scrunch it up and cover the cut, "Hold that there and come with me. If you want to leave in the morning then you can but it's not smart to stay out here in the middle of a storm bad as the one tonight."

The girl winced as she held the scrunched up cloth to her eye. Her depth perception was completely shot now. "Why are you helping me?" She asked as she held of to the woman's arm. She didn't exactly like the idea of going into the city, crowds terrified her. The woman was nice enough but she didn't understand the unwarranted generosity. She had done nothing for this woman and now she was helping her. She stumbled a bit and clung more to this woman beside her. Where they were going, she had no idea, she thought this woman wasn't liked in the city, did she have a safe place? She felt something warm drip down her cheek and managed to pull the fistful of cloth away. It wasn't rain that was for sure. "I didn't think i hit the tree that hard." She mumbled as she tried to look at the bloody cloth. She put it back to her eye and just followed the woman. As much as she wanted to deny it, she needed this woman's help.

Kana frowned at the question, "Because it's the right thing. I know what it's like to be alone with no one to help you and I refuse to leave someone in that situation." She answered then shrugged, "And you got hurt when you otherwise wouldn't have been injured had I not come out here for the bloom. I feel somewhat responsible for it." she didn't mind helping this girl at all despite what little she owned she had enough to share with someone who might need it.

Reaching the edge of the forest she tugged the hood forward over her face again, shielding the injury from the harsh rain and led her down through the empty field, "What's your name?" she asked idly as she further took her to the house of the the woman in need of the bloom then turned toward her own home.

She kept her head down, trying to keep the rain off her throbbing face. When she heard the woman's question she almost froze. She hadn't used her real name in years. No one still alive knew her name. She took a deep breath, it wouldn't hurt to let at least one person know right? "M-my name is Luna." She finally said. Luna had noticed awhile back that they had gotten into the city. She walked closer to the woman guiding her, her good eye frantically searching the surroundings, but the rain obscured everything. She looked back over to the woman. "I guess i should thank you for helping me." It wasn't too often that she actually had to thank people. She didn't really like doing it, she much preferred proving it with her actions but at the moment there wasn't much she could do. Luna looked up at the woman again. She was curious about her, but she knew it was best to let people speak of them selves and not press them for information.

Kana smiled, passing under a covered lamp her face held nothing but good intentions and kindness, "Luna.. That's a pretty name." she said, trying to relax her. Not this girl was acting almost feral in certain ways. With a small sigh she watched where she was going again, "My name is Kana but Miss Rose if you prefer the formality." she told her, shaking her head as she was thanked, "No, you shouldn't, you showed me that flower so I was only out there for a fraction of the time I would've if you hadn't."

She soon came to a small house, little more than a glorified shack, warm and dry inside but terrible on the out, "Here." she informed, opening the door and pointing to a stone hearth, "Sit there and I'll be back with some clothes, food, and something to ease the pain of that gash there."

"I'll call you whatever you want me to, the choice is yours." Luna said with a small smile as she sat on the warm hearth. The woman left and Luna turned to the fire. She set the bloody clothe in her lap as she stretched her hands out to the fire. Her fingers had grown numb in the cold rain and she hadn't realized it until now. The fire's warmth was a welcome relief from the cold and she scooted a bit closer. She tried to look around the small home, but her left eye was throbbing and she couldn't see anything wit hit. Luna covered her sore eye and attempted to see things with her good eye. To her, she didn't know if it was a shack or a mansion. She hadn't actually been inside a building in years. Luna was just grateful for the shelter and the warmth. As she held her hands to the fire she looked down at her ragged clothes. Torn and worn, covered in dirt and stained. She looked like hell.

Soon Kana came back with a large metal bucket and set it beside the fire, a cloth next to it, "Let that warm then, if you don't mind, try to sponge some of the mud off yourself. It'll do no good to give you clean clothes if you're dirty too." she had set a towel aside from the cleaning rags for her to cover with when she was as clean as she could get.

Without waiting for a response she moved off to one of the three other rooms in the house, gathering the clothes, then the food and lastly the medicine to ease the pain before she returned. The food was a bit of meat from her dinner earlier that evening, something that would've gone to waste otherwise and some bread, the clothing was a soft green dress made of durable cloth. She didn't hand them over right away but set them several feet away, "Bandaging first, then you can dress and eat, does that agree with you?"

Luna nodded and took the woman's cloak off letting it lie on the floor. She took one of the rags, and dipped it into the bucket, not really waiting for it to warm up too much. She started on her face, trying to get the mud off, but she winced when she got near the gash. She pushed her long hair back and out of her face before she turned at Kana's question. "Yeah that sounds good." She looked to the bucket of water that was starting to warm. She carefully peeled her drenched shirt from her tiny frame, keeping her back to Kana. If the woman was paying attention, she would have seen the scars across her body some were small and old, but there were large ones too as well as more recent ones. She tried to clean off the mud that had soaked through her shirt and then Luna grabbed the clean towel and wrapped it around her before she undid the string holding up her over sized pants. She sat back down and sponged more dirt off her legs until she was about as clean as she could be.

With the towel still wrapped around her, Luna turned around, her cheeks a bright shade of red. She was a modest girl. She looked over at Kana. "Alright let's get this over with." Her face was throbbing just sitting there, she didn't want to know what would happen once the woman touched it.

Kana averted her eyes while she washed, only looking back at her when she spoke, nodding and watching the tiny rainbows off her eyes move with the motion of her nodding. The woman's eyes shifted color quickly as she approached and tipped her face up to blow on the cut a little before gently cleaning it out, knowing doubtlessly that it had to hurt terribly but as soon as it was acceptably clean she carefully rubbed a thick white salve on it that would take some of the swelling out and should make the pain fade until morning. After bandaging it she handed her the dress and set the plate beside her, her eyes pink when she smiled, "It should feel better by morning. I don't have more than one bed and one blanket but you're welcome to sleep by the fire for warmth." she said, beginning to leave and let her alone to her own fashions.

Luna winced and fought the urge to pull away as Kana cleaned it out and bandaged it up. She took the dress when it was handed to her and gave a small smile to the woman helping her. When Kana turned to leave, Luna let out a sigh. She didn't really know what she was supposed to to. Once the woman left the room, Luna unwrapped herself from the towel and pulled the dress on careful to avoid her bandaged eye. After the dress was on, Luna looked down, part of her wondering how it looked, she hadn't worn a dress in years. it was a little big, but most things were on her undernourished body. After moving the bucket and dirty rags off to the side, Luna sat down on the hearth once more and picked up the plate of food left for her. Her mouth watered when she saw the meat. It had been a long time since she had eaten meat. She slowly nibbled at the food as she sat there. In a short while the food was gone, the plate completely clean. Luna looked for Kana, but didn't want to bother the woman who had already done so much for her. She decided to just get some sleep so Luna curled up on her side on the stone hearth. She was used to sleeping on hard surfaces so it didn't bother her too much. Her eye had stopped hurting too and for that she was thankful as she quietly drifted off to sleep, her pale hair falling into her face.

Kana woke at dawn the next morning with a groan as her body protested ever move she made loudly and when her feet hit the stone floor she had to bite back a yelp as she discovered an angry cut from her heel to the middle of her calf. It wasn't to badly infected yet so she left it to change into her house clothing, a thin cream colored dress that fit her form and a small pair of leather slippers. She moved out into the main room and smiled as she found Luna, cleaning up the bucket of water and the plate from the night before.

She went back into her kitchen with the plate and came back out to leave a plate holding a slice of cheese and bread, a glass of milk beside it. Milk was a rare thing to get since it didn't keep long but she needed to share it lest it go bad. Only then did she start limping about on her normal daily chores, waiting for Luna to wake so she could check her eye and re-bandage it if need be.

Luna's nose twitched and she sat up, her head throbbing. It was only then that she recalled the night before. She looked over at the plate set by her head. She ate the bread and cheese and cleaned the plate. She had learned to not waste food since it was a rare thing she came by. She looked curiously at the glass of milk. Luna couldn't recall ever having it before. She picked it up and downed the glass before the pain hit her again. She set the glass down and cradled her throbbing head.

Glancing up Luna caught a glimpse of Kana limping through the house but the woman hadn't noticed her yet. Luan got to her feet, but with her head aching it took her a moment to get her balance. Then she stumbled over to the woman. "You hurt your leg last night?" She asked in a soft voice.

Kana blinked, almost dropping the large scrap of fabric she was when she heard Luna before smiling at her and leading her to a chair, "I did but I'll be fine. I'll find a healer later." She motioned to the chair and moved off to get more bandaging and the salve she'd used the night before.

Soon enough she was back, "Now if you'll let me take a look at that?" She said, "And then, if you will please humor me, Lay down for today. I'll give you my bed. I think perhaps that injury has done a little more damage than originally thought."

Luna frowned but nodded as she was forced to a seat. As carefully as she could Luna reached up and slowly removed the bandages. the further she got, the more pain that shot through her head. As she removed the bandages she revealed a bruised and bloody face. Surprisingly enough, the swelling was at a minimum.
"I-I can't see out of it." She said quietly, trying to keep herself from freaking out. "How bad does it look?" She didn't really want to know but it was necessary.

"I don't really want to stay in bed, but if i have to..." She didn't want to do nothing, this woman was already doing so much for her. She wanted to at least help clean or something...

Kana winced as she saw the girl's face but shook her head at the question, "It looks surprisingly good, considering." She gently pat the wound with a damp rag, cleaning away any substance that might cause infection. She then went through bandaging it again and when finished she led her to the bed, "How about I put you to repairing some fabrics for me? Do you know how to sew?"
