I like Mulan II, but as with 99.9% of all sequels, it's never as good as the original :(
They just don't seem to take as much time with the sequels :(
Though, with The Lion King trilogy, they did pretty well <3
The Little Mermaid Trilogy was pretty nice as well, but not many others :/
I think it's because they didn't do it one after another and didn't plan it for sequels, ya know?
They just figured "Hey, this doesn't have a sequel, let's dig this out and see if we can't make a sequel for it!" LOL

I think most sequels or remakes tend to lack the charm of the first one. There are a few that I feel have kept the spark throughout the series. Toy Story is one. I absolutely loved the series (well, the first two as I still need to see the third one).

Love the lion king! Yeah that's very true.
I hate how they ruin good movies with sequels.

Toy Story is a big yesyesyes!!! In the 'sequals add, not subtract' catagory.
One of the few sequels I thought was pretty decent was the third Cinderella, and the lion king movies.

Oo - Toy Story DEFINITELY makes it on that list :3
The Aladdin Trilogy was pretty good, the story kept going instead of randomly taking turns :3
Those stayed on par :3
Hmm -- I can't agree with the Cinderella sequels -- they hopped around and went all over the place, didn't really make a "continuation" or anything~
I mean, they were good in their own selves, but not as sequels haha
And I agree Roachi -- I really hate that too :(
They did that with 101 Dalmatians when they did the Patch's Adventures sequel and the 102 Dalmatians for the RL movie :/
I mean, having the two versions of the movie (animated and RL) was pretty cute, but to make the sequels.. It was just over doing it and making it ridiculous :(
BTW love -- there's a lot of stuff on Secret Santa on the Charity Mule -- PMs and a trade :3
I'm not sure what to do with it all, but I wanted to let you know :3
Also, I have break coming up in a couple of weeks, so if you need me to help with the Secret Santa stuff, just let me know what needs to me done/how to do it and I'll do it :)

Emma- Oh, the 2nd Cinderella sequel just SUCKED, no way am I defending that mess. Just like you said, it jumped around, and probably would have been better as some sort of TV special.
But the third did have it good points, I was rooting for everyone, and Stepmother really made a mark as a 'villain' character (in addition to her actions in the first movie). As far as sequels go, personally I felt the third movie was miles ahead of some others.
And I forgot about the Aladdin movies (which is funny because two days ago I had a major discussion with a few people about them, and the TV series. Which I had thought was pretty good, in comparison to some other movie-TV Disney franchises like Hercules.)

Chunsa:: I actually liked a couple of the stories in the second movie -- that one didn't really jump around, it had a purpose -- telling stories from Jacques point of view about tales that went on since he's known Cinderella, for a present for her :3
I meant more that the movies didn't go together in a time line -- like, where The Lion King trilogy went from Simba-cub to Simba-adult, to Kiara-cub to Kiara-adult, then the 1 1/2 movie telling from Timon's side of things~
If I remember correctly, the Cinderella story went from her getting married, to her having been moved into the Palace for quite some time, to just moving in again -- it honestly made no sense what so ever, and that annoyed me lol
I mean, if you take each story individually, they're nice -- but not as a trilogy -- they should have done a LOT better planning on that~
The 3rd one should have came before the 2nd one, an the 2nd one should have been planned better as well~
As for the TV Series, UGH! I COMPLETELY agree on Hercules. That show was just a disgrace. Sort of like The Emperor's New Groove TV series -- they just have nothing to do with the movies!
Same with Tarzan TV Series :/
Aladdin wasn't bad - they actually did some planning on that one and it fit with the themes of the movies -- but the other TV series -sigh-
Unless you take them as being separate from the movies, you can't enjoy them -- and even THEN it's hard to enjoy them xD;
Gargoyles was a good TV series that followed the movie well :3
That was nice~
I think the movie more complimented the Series though hahaha
-can't remember if that's how it was intended or not, been too long hahaha-
The Jungle Book series was pretty good -- that was planned nicely :3
The Lady and the Tramp series?
Well, that's honestly debatable. The second movie is alright? But really reminds me of the Lady in the Tramp, just in reverse for genders LOL
