Hey everybody!
So the holiday season has begun, i was just wondering what your favorite holiday song was.
Mine happens to be "My Grown Up Christmas List." but i also love the classics like jingle bells, and all that good stuff. So if you don't mind sharing what your favorite song is then i would love to hear it!!

My Grown Up Christmas List is a lovely song. My group and I sang it for a singing contest just a week ago, actually

Blink 182 "I wont be home for Christmas" it's a hilarious Christmas song, for normal people around Christmas time.

Christmas Tree by Lady Gaga since its not like most Christmas songs, Carol of the bells, Silent night, and ANYTHING from The Nutcracker ( I really love the story and music even though i've never seen the play myself. )

Silent Night

because it doesn't HAVE to refer to just the birth of Jesus, and as it does it's a lovely way of doing so

uh, Angel... it's hard not to refer to Jesus when it has lines like "..virgin mother and child..."

Where else have you ever heard of a 'virgin' mother? I understand the logistics of adopting, but still. I can't think of anything else that song could refer to if not religious.

a 'virgin' mother really isn't very rare

Horus was born from the Virgin goddess Isis, and there are virgin mothers in Islam, Hindu and Greek legends as well

Plus, if the song is sung properly, the only thing that is really clear is that the song is about a mother and child during a beautiful and peaceful night

Isis was no virgin. True she impregnated herself, using a magic-created penis for Osiris, since Nephtys and herself failed to find that one piece, after Seth cut up Osiris and scattered him. But Isis was not a virgin.

I'm unfamiliar with Islam and Hindu myths, but which Greek legend had a virgin mother? Most myths dealing with a pregnancy had Zues as the father, and when Zues was involved they weren't a virgin much longer...

Syraannabelle, You're getting VERY off-topic, also, I think your avatar needs a tampon- just saying.

I also like Weird Al's 'the night Santa went crazy' because that's how I feel this time of year, working in retail and listening to the same over-played Christmas music for 8 hours a day, 4-5 days a week since November first >.<

My favorite Christmas song is "Carol of the Bells". I like quite a few Christmas tunes, but that one will always be my ultimate fav. It kind of has a haunting, yet beautiful, ring to it.
