Charmase blinked, startled by the look Lance had given him...and perhaps a bit hurt. He always tried his best to be friendly to everyone around him, and a lot of the time his friendliness was received negatively by people for no reason.

He addressed the club with his usual cheeriness and presented them with the activity for the day--he put on a Latin video about the Caesar bloodline. He himself sat up at the teacher's desk, going over what looked like more activities for the club.

Lance watched the video silently. He rubbed his temple. He felt alone here. More alone than usual He could hear whispers. This was starting to piss him off. Yes, most were probably suprised that someone like him was him. He felt like walking out right now, but he would look up at Charmase, and decide to stay a little longer.

Charmase seemed to feel more and more upset when he looked up and noticed that Lance was not getting involved or friendly with the other students. He put away his work for now and picked up his messenger bag, slinging it over his shoulder. He headed to the back of the room and sat in the desk next to Lance, hoping to make him feel a little less out-of-place.

He watched the movie with clear interest in his eyes. The Caesars were an interesting family.

Lance blinked, eyes widened just a bit. He looked over at him. He was suprised he stopped his work to sit beside him. Lance smiled slightly and then looked at the TV and attempted to pay attention to it.

He placed an elbow on the desk to rest his chin in the palm of his hand, watching the moving, and trying to understand it.

Sometimes there would be English subtitles under the Latin, especially if it was advanced Latin. Charmase was in his final year of Latin...and he was taking AP Latin. So, he could understand the majority of it without needing subtitles to help him.

Charmase was fascinated by the movie and didn't mind the amused stares he got from his colleagues. They knew how Charmase was with people...he loved everyone...

Lance rubbed his head some. This movie was all too confusing to him. "EH..." He noticed the stares. He smirked and waved at the nosey people. Tauting them some. When the movie was over, Lance sighed in relief and then said. "That made my head hurt. Even with subtitles." He heard some laughter. He felt like and idiot here. Every knew this stuff except for him.

Lanced ignored it, or tried to, acting as if he didn't care.

"It's easy for those new to Latin to get confused," Charmase reminded him, lacing his fingers together in front of him on his desk. "It really is a pretty and easy language to learn, and it helps with skills in other languages, as well...even in English!"

He hopped up out of his seat and leaned against the wall. "Sixty percent of the words in English come from Latin." He shrugged away from the wall and headed up to the front desk again. He rummaged around the desk and began to pass out some sheets of paper. "This is some information about our trip to Italy, for anyone who's interested!"

Lance blinked some and nodded. He made him feel like it wasn't his fault he didn't know this. He laughed some at this guy's excitement. When a paper came his way, he looked it over. "Italy huh? " He smiled some and looked up a Charmase and figured he could give this a shot.

He leaned back in his desk, staring at the paper. Really considering it.

"We will be staying in Rome the first two nights, and then we will move to a hotel in Florence for the next two nights. We'll spend three nights in Venice, then, and spend the final day in Milan before we catch our plane in Milan back home," Charmase explained to the excited club--the trip to Italy was one of the biggest trips for any club in the school.

Charmase seemed extremely excited, as well. The field trip was going to be his pride and joy this year.

Lance smiled some, raising an eyebrow and spoke out. "You'll see me there." He heard some gasps and shocked noises. Lance just smiled. Lanced folded up the paper and placed it in his pocket. So now this meant he had to attend every meeting. No matter how pissed off the other members made him. They would soon get use to him.

Lance leaned foward in his desk some,watching him.

"Great!" Charmase was excited to hear a few more voices chime in after Lance spoke. "Everyone going on the trip needs to get their money in before March tenth! That's the deadline! I need to order plane tickets and set up our stays at the hotels."

He really was working overtime for the club...and to think he acted this way for many different clubs throughout the school. The poor thing must have been so overworked.

Lance heard something about money. He wondered how much it cost. His family wasn't big on money. But he waited till the end of the meeting to ask him. When the meeting came to an end, Lance walked over to Charmase and then helped him get his stuff together. While he did so he asked. "How much exactly will it cost to go on this trip."When he was done helping he placedhis hands in his pockets. Waiting for a reply

"It's expensive," Charmase warned, seeming a little down. Was it possible that Lance didn't have the funds to go on the trip? "If money's tight, I can sometimes help a few students out. I come from a privileged family..."

He lowered his eyes slightly. He hated admitting that to people--sometimes it changed their whole viewpoints on him.

"...If you can show me proof that you're tight on money, I can always help out. It's my policy..."

Lance looked at him. "Huh, I can't let you do that..." he said. Not caring he was rich. Money was still something that couldn't be given out so lightly. "No, I'll just have to find another part time job..." However, he did have the proof he needed. All he needed to do was bring Charmase to his run down house.

Lance wasn't proud of it, and he lived in filth, that happens when only men live in the home.

Charmase looked slightly sad. "If you want, you can take the opening my parents are offering in their shop. It pays really well...they usually only hire people with ample amounts of work experience, but they'll hire you if I put in a good word."

He paused, trying to think of anything else to say that would be of importance. "My parents run a coffee shop!"

Lance nodded. "Ypu don't have to put in a good word. I'll try to make it on my own." He hated relying on others. Always did.
But thanks for the tip. I'll visit them tonight. Are they open tonight?" He asked, leaning foward some. "Oh, and can I have the rest of those cookies?"

He smiled some. He really did love those cookies.

The other male's leaning forward did not seem to bother him. "They'll be open. It's the little coffee shop called Meridian, on Browne Avenue..." It was a well-known and very pricey coffee and sweets shop. There were chocolate fountains in the windows...very elaborate, and probably hard to get employment in without a recommendation.

"And you can have the rest of the cookies. I don't need them!" Charmase fished around in his pockets for his phone. "Need to call and get a ride home..."

"I see, thank you then." He took the plate of cookies. "Well you get your ride then, I'm about to head to that coffee shop. See ya." he then turned his back to him, leaving the room soon. Once outside of the school building, he noticed the darkened clouds and sighs. "I hope it doesn't rain and get my cookies all soggy."

Lance walked out to the road and along the side walk, heading the opposite direction today, heading for that shop.

The shop was open and already filled with customers...a lot of them some well-off students getting out of school. The moment Lance stepped inside of the place--which had the heady smell of chocolate in the air--it began to rain outside.

Charmase was already there. He worked in the shop when he got out of school sometimes--it seemed that he had already gotten a ride and had arrived at the shop before him...Lance had walked, after all. He was working behind the counter and had a big smile on his face.

Lance entered the coffee shop, looking around. "Whoa." He then noticed Charmase. He walked up to him. "Um hey...I guess you beat me huh...but...where are your parents?" He looked around. "I might as well get it over with. Besides...this place is not the normal coffee shop I expected. The pay here must be awesome."

"Hi!" Charmase took care of a customer that had just walked up to pay his bill before turning to Lance. "My mother is in the back office. I can go with you, if you want me to," he added, smiling. "I just have to ask someone to cover for me for a little bit..."

He paused. "...And yep, the pay is rather great..."

Lance looked at him. "No. I don't want you to say anything to influence you mother's decision. I want to get this job because I deserve it. But thanks for the offer." He nodded before turning around and headed for the back. "Um, excuse me..." He said, looking around. "I'm looking for the owner."

"Okay..." Charmase was worried. Especially if his step-father was back there instead of his mother. His mother was an angel, but the same could not be said about his step-father. He and Charmase did not get along, and they tended to avoid each other as much as was humanly possible.

In the back of the shop was a single big office. There was a petite, redheaded woman with prominent freckles on her face sitting at the main desk, and she looked up quickly when Lance walked in. There was a definite resemblance between her and Charmase--the only things that differed between them were their genders, their hair colors, and their eye colors.

"That would be me," she greeted, folding her hands out on the desk in front of her. Like Charmase, she had a musical quality to her voice and was probably an excellent singer.

Lance smiled before sitting infront of the desk. "Well, nice to meet you." He nodded. Now he knew where Charmase got his girlish feature from. They looked so much alike. "Um, I'm here for a part time job, I was informed that you were looking for some help right?" He smiled some.

Thankfully, Charmase's step-father was nowhere in sight. Getting the job would be much easier. The woman smiled at Lance and extended her hand. "Liriana Basia. Please, call me Liriana..." She shifted a bit in her chair, expectantly. "Do you have any work experience? And what hours can you work?"
