Julie Riedelle
~ ~ ~
19 years old
~ ~ ~
It's Julie's first year in college and she's nervous as hell for herself, not knowing if she'll even pass the first semester or even get her roomy to like her. She loves taking walks, reading good books, and loves working on her homework. She isn't like most girls and she's always been picked on for that.
~ ~ ~
She wears her dead grandmother's locket all the time whether hidden or showing. She always has her hair down and she likes wearing covering clothes.
~ ~ ~
She's sweet, caring, quiet, shy, kind, loving, acceptable, understanding, and smart. She tries her best to appear strong and out going.

[imgleft]http://i865.photobucket.com/albums/ab219/AnimeUnlimited/01%20Humanoids/02%20Female/Neleska-1.jpg[/imgleft] • Name: Jade R. Delgado
• Gender: Female
• Age: Twenty (20)
• Level: Freshman (1st Year)
• Persona: Jade is your typical 'tough chick', and thus, is very headstrong, willful, and aggressive. She'll do whatever it takes to get what she wants and when she doesn't get what she wants, is more than a little unhappy about it. She is known for openly asserting her feelings and opinions on everyone, especially when she's unhappy about something. She often puts up a fight with anything that opposes her. All of this combined, and Jade has little to no friends, everyone either fearing or just not wanting to be around her.
• Background: Jade has a Spanish heritage, though her family has moved and been living in America for generations. She struggled through a rough public middle and high school, having failed and been held back the 7th and 10th grades, but somehow ended up graduating in the end. Now, she's moved off to another state to go to college to get an engineering degree, and is currently roomed with another girl, of which she is not happy about. Roommates aren't really her thing.

Julie stood waiting in line for the number of her dorm room she would be living in until the semester ended and Christmas Vacation would come into play. The summer sun was high and her brown hair wasn't helping with the heat whatsoever. Her brown tee shirt and matching Bermuda shorts never felt so deathly suffocating before.
Once she got her room number, she lugged her two rolling suitcases with her as she hurried into the girl's dorm building, heading up to where the girl who had given her room number had told her where her room was. The fourth floor room 410. She opened the door and looked inside.

Jade stomped her way through the college dorm hallway, carrying a dark blue duffle bag over her shoulder and chewing on a piece of gum, dark sunglasses covering her piercing yellow eyes, dark yet revealing summer clothing covering her developed feminine body. So this was the dorm, huh? How pathetic.
She looked down to a piece of paper that has been given to her by the one of the college's reception ladies at the main campus building. It read her room number on it; room 410. But the college was big, as were the dorms, and she couldn't help but feel a bit lost. The more she looked, the more angry she became in not being able to find it. Four... four floors and still she couldn't find the stupid room! Finally, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
"Hey, you." She 'greeted', pulling a peppy and rather ditzy looking girl to the side and shoving the piece of paper in her face. "Tell me where my dorm is." The girl examined her sheet before pointing down the hallway, telling her it was somewhere on the right. "Got it." She said, not even bothering to thank the girl before blowing a bubble with her gun and walking off again. Luckily, the girl had pointed her in the right direction, as she finally came to the door.
She swung it open without any restraint. The light was already on and it seemed someone else was in her room. Another girl who was pretty, but otherwise pretty plain. "Who the hell're you, and what're you doing in my room?" Was her lovely introduction.

Julie jumped, startled at such an introduction, she moved aside for the girl to get passed her. "Um..t-this is my room to. Guess we're sharing this dorm room together," she said as she claimed the bed on the left side of the room and began to unpack her sheets, neatly folded clothes, shoes, ans everything else.
"I'm Julie. I'm learning to be a writer. What about you?" she asked, trying to be friendly. Her mom always taught her to be friendly to anyone no matter what, thought that was something easily hard to keep straight.

Jade raised an eyebrow when the girl answered her, watching her intently as she made her way to the left side of the room and claimed the bed there, pulling out her neatly folded cloths and such.
"None of your business is what." She answered her, plopping her own duffel bag on the bed to the right of the room. "And don't pretend that we're friends or anything." She then said, annoyed with the girl's friendly attitude towards her. "It's bad enough that I have to share a room with you."
She took off her sunglasses and tossed them on the bed. "Oh. And since we're apparently going to be forced to room together, there's going to have to be some rules... The number one rule: don't touch my stuff." She said, glaring to the girl. She was used to dealing with more mean and harsher persons like herself, so this nice sweet girl was a bit new to her.

Julie somehow felt a bit hurt at the tone of voice that the new girl was using at her. So she did her best and kept silent. "No problem," Julie mumbled as she unpacked her stuff, hug them up, and set up everything silently. She was planning on headed to the nearby library for the college, wanting to already grab a stack of books to keep her busy.
She sat her shoes at the bottom of her closet and then unpacked her desk lamp, laptop, and set up her beauty products in her nightstand's drawer. She lined up her books alone the other nightstand on the other side of her bed, the nightstand with no drawer but a place to put books or whatever. The Twilight Saga, The House of Night Series, and the Harry Potter Series. Soon, she put the sheets on her bed and soon made up her bed the way she wanted it to be.

"Hmph." Was Jade's only reply to the girl, hands still on her hips as she glared darts at her. Huh. This girl didn't put up much of a fight, did she? What was her problem anyway?
As Julie began organizing her side of the room, Jade did the same to hers. She wasn't the richest girl in the world and she only had one bag she took with her, of which didn't have really anything but clothes and a few other small things inside. Nothing like books and makeup and accessories like Julie seemed to have, Jade looking back to her every now and again out of curiosity.
"So. Julie, was it?" Jade finally said as she finished with her own bed sheeting. "The name's Jade." She then straitened up. "But don't get the wrong idea. It's just that if we're going to be roomates, I figured you should at least know my name."

Julie looked at Jade once she told her about her name. As a reply, Julie gave a small smile and nodded her head. Soon she slipped on her black flats and grabbed her book bag. "I'm headed to the library. Please don't touch anything," she said in a pleasant and kind voice as she grabbed her denim jacket and hurried from the room. So much for a resort, she thought to herself.

As Julie left, Jade huffed. "Well how do ya like that." She said with a furrowed brow. She then looked to the stuff she had left behind. Even though Julie asked not to touch anything, Jade couldn't help herself. She sorted through her clothing in the closet first. "Boring." She said, looking at all the outfits. "Man, this girl is dull. So much for borrowing her clothes." Her makeup was next. "Not my color." She commented. The books were next. "Twilight? Harry Potter? Seriously? How lame." Now she was bored. This girl didn't have anything interesting she could find, and certainly nothing of value.
She lied back on her bed and closed her eyes. She was new to this state and to this area, and didn't really know what was there was to do around here. Sure, she would normally go out and see for herself, but she'd save that for tomorrow. It has been a long day traveling by bus to this place. First day of classes were tomorrow and she had a long day ahead of her. Before she knew it, she had fallen asleep on her bed, still in her cloths and her bed still made.

((Sorry it took so long. D= I was staying the night at my sister's and forgot my computer charger and just as I was replying, it died on me!))
Julie somehow had a feeling that Jade was going to go through her stuff, but she assured herself that there was nothing worth Jade's interest. She found a good book titled Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and sat down at one of the tables in the large library. By the time came for supper, she was almost done with the book.
"She was foolish to leave Rochester," Julie mumbled to herself as she marked the page and headed to the counter to check the book out. Once she checked the book out, she tucked it safely away in her large purse that looked a bit like a book bag, and headed back to her dorm room to change into something more suitable. She was going to celebrate, by herself, the fact she officially made it into college.
Julie changed into a 70's-ish black dress and slipped on a shinier pare of black flats, grabbing her favorite black sweater. She ignored Jade's presence as best she could as Julie sat down at her vanity and focused on her face in the mirror. She slipped on a barely-noticeable shade of pink lip stick, and took off her glasses, placing in her contacts she only bothered with for special occasions. Soon, she quickly brushed on a pretty white shimmered eyeshadow and got up to grab her purse.

(( Lol, it's fine. There's never any rush with me. ))
When Julie came back into the room, it woke Jade up. She opened one eye to see the girl enter. Julie didn't seem to bother speaking to her however, only putting on different cloths and now sitting down at her vanity putting on some make up. Jade simply watched. Julie looked very nice and she was wondering what the occasion was.
"Black suits you." She said still on the bed, resting her head on her hand as she watched Julie put on makeup. "The dress I mean. Even if it is old-fashioned." When Julie got up to leave, grabbing for her purse, curiosity got the best of Jade. "So, where's the party?" She questioned before grinning slightly. "Gotta say. Didn't take you for the partying type."

((Okay, good. XD))
Julie looked at Jade in her mirror and gave a small smile. "Thanks. My mom really never liked the color itself, but this dress was my birthday gift from her," she said as she shrugged, taking out her pony tale to brush her hair and put it half up.
After putting it back up and placing a bow her brother had bought her from Hot Topic before her died, Julie's eyes met with Jade once more. "I'm celebrating at Albrini's. Alone. My parents couldn't make it, so I'm on my own this time," she said with a bit of disappointment in her voice. "And you're right. I'm not one for partying," she then added.

Jade frowned when Julie said she was going alone since her parents couldn't make it. "Albrini's, huh?" She said back, hearing of the place before and apparently interested. She then sat up on her bed with a sideways smile. "What are you, stupid? No girl should go out partying alone." She stood up. "It's just not safe. And besides, I need to explore this depressing area some. This is only my first day here, after all." Of course, she didn't expect Julie to decline her to come along, and would probably somehow end up forcing herself along even if she did.

Julie had to go back to her vanity to touch up her contacts that felt awkward and to add a bit of her favorite shimmery blush. Then Julie's eyes widened as she dropped her brush down to the vanity's wood base as she turned around in her chair to survey Jade to make sure she was telling the truth.
Julie wasn't too sure about such a thing. Since she got here, her presence was obviously not as welcomed as she thought it'd be. But then again, with a girl like Jade, there was no use in saying 'no' to. So Julie just shrugged her shoulders. "A-alright," she then said. "You sure?" she then asked.

Jade rummaged through her bag and pulled out a pair of brass knuckles. "Absolutely." She said, smiling a rather mischievous smile. She turned to look at Julie, who was putting on more makeup, seeing as how the sweet girl might be a little surprised by her 'weapon'. "Just in case." She explained before slipping them into her pant pocket, each on one side of her leg. She then put her hands on her hips. "So? You ready yet?" She said impatiently. "We going to this 'Albrini's' or what?" She honestly had no idea what the place was. A bar? A rave? Some kind of old fokes home? It'd be interesting to see...

Julie couldn't help but sigh at Jade's impatience. "Yeah," was all she said as she got up, grabbed her sweater and purse once more and motioned for Jade to follow her as she opened the dorm room's door.
Once in Julie's secondhand grey Oldsmobile, Julie drove out of the parking lot and made her way to Alberini's. Once there, she walked inside. Showing in Alberini's was this big fancy restaurant. Everything was golden and brown-based as everyone dining there were dressed in fancy clothing. Technically, Jade didn't over nor under dress. So she was all good.
"Hi. Reservation for Riedelle?" Julie said with a sweet smile.
The host seemed rather refreshed with what seemed to bee Julie's kindness. A smile stretched across his lips and he nodded his head, looking down at the reservation's sheet before him. He flipped through pages and then with a murmured 'ah', he looked up at the two. "Right this way, ladies."
Julie and Jade were placed at a two person's table near the other end of the restaurant. A candle burned in a round glass that reminded Julie of a fancy fish bowl and the table cloth was so grand to the touch.
A waitress walked up to them, introducing herself as she took out a pen and notepad. "What can I get you guys to drink? Today's specials include Le Francaise del Rouge Wine and our classic Rose."
"I'll have a coke," Julie replied first, looking down at the three page menu before her.

Jade followed Julie outside, but was surprised when they came to a stop in front of a car. Ah, she had her own car. That was good. Jade didn't have one. She used to just drive her sister's old beat up car everywhere, but since she'd moved to this state away from her family, she was careless. It was good that her roomie had a car. It could prove quite useful.
When they drove a ways and came to a stop in front of a building, Jade was eager to go inside. But when they did go inside, it was far from what she was expecting. "A fancy restaurant?" She said with a raised eyebrow. "This is how you party?" Everything was so pretty and despite the fact that technically she wasn't over or under-dressed, she still felt rather out of place. These people were so proper. It just wasn't her style.
Jade followed Julie and the host to a table, where she sat down and starred at a candle in the middle of the table. Well, before the host blurted out something ridiculous on the menu as a special. "What?" She said, not understanding anything, though it sounded like it was French. But when Julie said she wanted a coke, she relaxed a bit. A coke she knew. "Diet sprite." She said before deciding to be fancy. "With lemon."
As the host nodded then left to go get their drinks, Jade couldn't help but feel a bit worried in looking at the menu. "Ugh. I don't understand this menu at all." She said, setting it back down. "It's too damn fancy. Don't they have, like... hamburgers or hot dogs or something?"

"I said 'celebrate' not 'party'."
Julie giggled a bit, smiling at Jade's confused expression as her eyes read the menu before her. "The close they have to all that stuff is spaghetti or crepes," she assured Jade as she went back to reading her menu. She was planning on ordering the crepes with melted cheese on top and grilled chicken, sotayed(sp?) onions, and a special French sauce inside. It was her favorite meal here and she never grew tired of it.
"Well, what are you in the mood for? Something cheesy? Something saucy? Something greasy?" she asked, not bothering to look back up at Jade.

Jade narrowed her eyes at the other with the correction. Celebrate. Party. It was all the same thing, right? The only way she knew how to celebrate was to party anyway. This fancy dining stuff was over her head.
"Crepes?" Jade replied with a confused look. She knew what Spaghetti was, but even Crepes sounded fancy to her. She didn't even want to know what those were. "Well you certainly seem to know what you're talking about." She added, more under her breath in envy than anything.
Something spicy." She then answered. "With lots of onions and hot sauce." She hadn't a clue what they served there that had all that though. Probably something in french.

"Crepes comes from France. It's a cross between pancakes and like bread. They're really good," she answered. And at Jade's next reply, Julie's eyes scanned through the menu.
"Well this place has a lot of different stuff from French to Greek to even Italian. Hmm...there's their Spicy Gyro," she said as she leaned forward, avoided the candle, and pointed to a paragraph in Jade's menu where a description was given of the course.

"France, Greece, AND Italy? All in one restaurant?" Jade said in light surprise. "Now I know I'm out of place." But a part of her didn't mind anymore. This Julie person was making it easier for her too. Those Crepes she described... they didn't sound so bad now.
Jade looked at the menu and scanned the small description of the dish. "Pita wrap... warmed... Tabasco sauce... meat slices... diced red onion... juicy tomatos... shredded lettuce..." She was silent for the moment, only starring at the menu. After a short moment, she put the menu down. "I'll take it." She said. "The... Spicy Gyro. That's what I'm having." She nodded to herself, almost proud that she'd done it: she'd successfully found a dish she might like at this fancy restaurant. ...With Julie's help, of course.
She then looked to Julie. "So... what are you getting? If you're getting those Crepe things or whatever, I might have to steal one."

"Glad to hear it," Julie said with a smug smile, nodding her head once as a reply to Jade's choice of food for this evening. "I'm just gonna get my usual. Their Grilled Chicken and Onion Crepes. And I never finish it, so you have one," she said as she closed her menu and took Jade's for when the waitress came back with their drinks, ready to take their orders.
After the waiter had come by to drop off their drinks, take their orders, and collect the menus, the waiter hurried back to the kitchen to drop off the slip of their orders. Julie just sat silently in her seat with her eyes fixed on her glass of Coke.

Jade crossed her arms across her chest with her menu being taken up. "Mm. Glad to hear it. It'll be interesting to see what one actually tastes like." She'd never had any sort of food like that before, but she didn't want to tell Julie that she was a fancy food noobie, even though it was pretty obvious.
With their drinks having arrived and their orders in, it seemed all that was left were the two girls at a candle-lit dinner. Jade took a moment to look around as she sipped on her diet sprite. She took the lemon out and set it on the table. The only reason she ordered the lemon was to try and be fancy. In actuality, she hated lemons. But, as she looked around, she noticed something peculiar.
"Hey. Julie." She said, still looking around at the rest of the fancy-dressed people. "How come there are only chick and dude couples?" It seemed to be a sort of romantic place... most of the people were paired up woman and man and were making goo-goo eyes at each other. "We're the only ones here who are both chicks at a table... Is that normal?"

Julie just wished that her parents could have made it. It would have been nice to have dinner with them, not to mention see them for the first time in a while. A few months before Julie left for campus, her parents went out on a Cruise for their Anniversary. When she got word that they would be delayed, she secretly felt hurt. But she just made sure to tell them it was fine and to not worry--she'd be able to handle herself. Which in fact, is true due to the money she had spent so many years building up for things she'd need in the future.
Julie snapped out of her reverie and glanced around after what Jade had said. "For a restaurant like this, it's known for couples to come here on dates, anniversaries, celebrations of some sort, or a simple special occasion. It's normal since you and I ar just friends," Julie explained as she shrugged and rested her chin on one hand in a lazy way.
