Background/Personality: Cerberus is quick to anger and quick to attack . He has quite a temper and his bite is definitely worse than his bark because he carries quite a bit of rage pent up in his dog form as part of his hell hound state. He hates his father for not believing in him no matter what he does. He knows he is more than capable of ruling the underworld but his Father only sees his so called weakness. He relies heavily o his two cousins and body guards.

Cerberus walked the packed city streets. He finally was able to get out of his father's "home" and get some fresh air. Even if surrounded by mortals, it was still preferable to his father's disapproving glare. He looked at the shop windows as he passed, just letting himself relax a little. He was too tense all the time. He felt like he was going to bite or go crazy at any time. The only thing his Father ever had a use for him was to help guard his kingdom. As a god of the underworld, he was most known as Cerberus, a terrible three headed dog. What he wished for was to be his father's son truly. honored beside him, instead of chained in his hell hound form to guard the souls of all the dead.

He continued walking on, considering getting some human food. He looked around for an appropriate place. He spotted a cafe across the street and headed towards it placing one foot upon the road.

Xypher was working at the register, trying to be patient enough while a girl rattled on and on about what she wanted on her cappuccino. Honestly, he didn't know why they wanted a cappuccino, if they didn't want half the stuff put into it. He kept a small smile however, and nodded at the appropriate times. Hell, she even wanted a salad, without the tomatoes, or anything else But the lettuce and dressing. Talk about dull.

If the others knew where he was right now, they'd probably just laugh. One of the higher dream gods working in such a place, but he had to spend the day doing something. And having a bit of money here was essential. He snapped to attention, training his golden eyes on the girl once she finished. "A drink and salad, then?" he asked, not wishing to waste his breath on the cappuccino. At the nod, he rang her up. "Alright, that will be $9.79." he said, taking the money and giving her the correct change with the receipt. "We'll get your order once it's done." he said easily enough, going to the next costumer.

Cerberus pushed the door open, a faint bell ringing his presence. He blinked at the lights and sounds of the place. It was bigger than he thought it was. The decor wasn't too bad. Like a victorian home but not in a dollhouse way. Soft greens and golden wood seemed to calm him even further. He sighed a little in relief, taking another step inside. He turned toward the flow of customers, not quite seeing the counter yet. He thought he sensed someone not of the mortal persuasion. He knew he would probably smell like brimstone to anyone with a godly nose. Or perhaps other dogs only the really stupid ones barked at him and when he glared back. Well they were a bit more tamer than ever.

He made his way through patrons with their food to the counter. There was just one other person in front of him. It was here he sensed the other presence. Was it the girl or perhaps the staff? Either seemed unlikely and yet there was something he liked about the employee. Immediately he scowled. He wasn't going to go all puppy like on the first non underworld god he met in 300 years.

Xypher gave the order to one of the other employees to take care of while he waited for the girl to move. He pushed a strand of hair behind his ear that had escaped from his ponytail. He'd almost taken a double take but recovered flawlessly once he caught a whiff of brimstone. He smelled the air to confirm his senses. He knew that scent, and it wasn't one he encountered often. Especially in this sort of area. His eyesight moved to the young man behind the girl, now in his direct view since he was next. He offered a smile, despite the scowl the boy had. He still had to be polite, no matter what type of costumer he had. "What can I get you?" he asked, keeping the polite smile on his face.

He stepped up to the counter realizing he had not yet looked at the menue. He almost started to panic then took a deep breath.

"Uhm, do you have anything light or calming? Perhaps something with lavender or chamomile?" He asked hopefully almost through gritted teeth. He was having such a nice time he really needed to keep his inner beast happy and calm. A romp with a squeaky ball worked well, but there was no way he would let someone play with him as if he were just a dog. ((LOL yes he will, we will make him LOL))

He just got so frustrated sometimes. It took a lot of work to get calm and peaceful and yet it was so easy to get angry again. Part of his hell hound state was to have this ball of inner rage within him. He was always looking to seep out. He'd rather relax and enjoy himself, think situations through. he turned his eyes downward slightly in shame for his lack of control.

Xypher nodded. "We have some chamomile tea, if that would please you." he answered calmly. He noticed that he hadn't checked the menu but it wasn't anything new. He studied him discreetly, as to not alarm him. He seemed to be acting a bit oddly. ((Xypher would be happy to help with that. lmao)) Almost like he wasn't used to being in this sort of situation. "Anything to eat or will that be all?" he asked after a moment. The boy acted almost adorable. He almost wanted to tease him but was sure he would get back a nasty response. He didn't seem to be the one to take things lightly. Especially if he wasn't a human.

he nodded. "yeah, that would be great, and uhm, Something to eat....." he trailed off thinking staring at the menu. Not sure of what to get, he turned back to the man or God. "What's your favorite?" He asked, a slight blush playing across his nose unexpectedly. He wasn't sure why but again something in him responded to this man. Perhaps because he seemed so calm. Like a person right before they went to bed.

Xypher nodded, putting that in the register as he waited for the boy to make up his mind. He blinked, startled by the question. He stared at him or a moment, to try and see if he was playing or something. He seemed honest though. And one who was playing didn't blush. That did throw him off some more though. He hadn't been aware he'd done something to merit a blush. "My favorite?" he asked, thinking about it. He did like to eat, certain things, but in the food department.. He had a few. Usually people ask what's the special, or which one is better. Never which one he liked best. "I'd have to say maybe a soup if it's a chilly day or feeling down in the weather. But normally I get a Chicken Parmesan Sandwich." he replied, smiling a little. "Not sure if you're allergic to something though.." he said thoughtfully.

"hmm chicken sounds good, i'll have that as well please." He asked thinking about meat. What dog didn't like meat? Maybe he was getting a better handle on his inner rage after all. He hadn't "Barked" once although he was tempted to bare his fangs at some of the pedestrians outside the shop. They of course would see it and think vampire not dog. Silly humans and their myths. Didn't know what was true and what was false.

He brushed back on of his black and fiery locks from out of his eyes. His hair was like burning colas. Black but with fiery red at the bottom.

He gave a small nod once again, putting that in as well with the same calm smile. "That all? If so, it'll be $10.34." he asked, looking over him again. Definitely someone from the underworld. Nobody really had that scent or appearance unless they were from there. Xypher himself had a unique scent. Of course, it was different with everyone, they only smelled what they wished to smell. He right now smelled of coffee beans and spices though. He got a light nudge from one of his coworkers to hurry up with the boy since he had a lot more people to serve. He did suppose he was spending more time with this one. Mostly because he was unprepared.

Cerberus nodded looking forward to his snack. He took out a wallet from his pocket, handing over the rectangle of plastic the humans used to pay for things. A thought wandered across his mind. He wandered if the server had a break anytime soon. Then he frowned. Why had he wondered that?

He finished the exchange of money and stood off to one side to await for his food. He didn't go as far as he had to, watching the man from the corner of his eye.

Xypher took the card and swiped it through, seeing the name. He raised an eyebrow before smirking. So he was named Cerberus. If that wasn't a huge clue, he didn't know what was. It was rare, but not uncommon to have children named after the dog. Maybe he was one of the gods child. Deciding to give homage to the three headed dog. Of course, he wouldn't ask who his parents were. He gave the card back to him and gave him the paper with his number before he turned his attention back to the line. It went much smoother since these people had had the time to look over the menu, and get the right amount of change due. He smiled and chatted a little with a few of the regulars as he got their orders down and gave them what they had ordered.

If it was something simple, then he just grabbed it for them. Xypher called out for the orders once they were done, including the girl with the silly salad. He smiled softly at her and then blinked, looking over to Cerberus before smirking and giving him his order. "Here you go. Enjoy." he said before he turned to make a few other orders, someone else taking over the register. It wasn't long until he had to go on his break. He sighed softly, grabbing a bottle of water and going out from behind the counter. Taking a sip of the water, he looked around and observed the humans.

he nodded his thanks and took his order, a little blush coming.... Again. he shook his head. What was with him today?

he found a corner where there wasn't a lot of people. It was also near a door with a sign saying, "employees only". he sipped at the tea. It was lovely. calming, sweet and not bitter, with a nice rich taste. If the sandwich was anywhere as good he would have to comeback. Although he had a feeling that if the food was terrible he would still come back.

As he ate, delighted that the food was good too, he wondered what a godly one was doing serving food to mortals. A punishment perhaps? Sometimes gods were abandoned on earth as such.

Xypher smiled a little and took another sip of his water, leaning against the wall. It was a busy day today, so he planned on enjoying what little time he had. He then spotted the boy not too far from where he was standing. He debated on if it would be such a good idea to talk to him, but shrugged and walked up to him. "Is the food to your liking?" he asked, smiling a little as he stood near the table. His manner seemed more relaxed now that he was on break.

"Cerberus really your name?" he asked, tilting his head curiously. He made it sound innocent, anyone would ask if one really thought about it. Not often you met a person with such a name. And it suited the boy.

He jumped a little when the other man had come over to him, he had been preoccupied with his thoughts and hadn't heard, or smelled, him coming over. he nodded politely, holding up his half eaten sandwich.

"It is..." he said simply. he wondered if he was going to sit down or if he was just passing by. He almost chuckled when he asked about his name. "yes. I suppose you read it on my card?" He asked. sometimes he wondered what it would be like if his name wasn't known, he knew that his was used along with other gods had other lesser immortals named after them. He wondered briefly what this man would think if he knew he was the originator of the name.

Xypher smiled, a bit glad that he was enjoying the food. It'd always been important to have the diners enjoy their food. He gave a small nod at being asked if he had read the card for the name. "Yeah, did have to check and, it's not a very common name, so was curious." he said, smirking. "May I sit down?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. If anything, he could try and ease into asking him if he was a demi-god or something. Just not right away since he didn't know if the boy would like being questioned.

He looked a little flustered but motioned toward the vacant chair. "Sure, feel free." How strange to meet someone like him here. He wondered from what line of God he was. he studied him trying to figure it out. His only guess was Aphrodite since he was so handsome, but shook it off, there wasn't much to go on.

"Uhm so you like working here?" he asked truly curious as to why he was here but not comfortable enough to ask him straight out.

Xypher smiled a little and sat down in the chair, scooting it into the table a bit. "Thank you." he said. He took another sip of his water, neutral as he felt the boy's eyes study him. No doubt trying to see if he could figure out who he was. He wasn't too well known from the other gods. He liked keeping away from all the constant conflicts the gods had sometimes.

At the question, his yellow eyes snapped back to the boy, having been staring off. "It's decent enough. Get to earn money and keep busy while in the daytime." he said, smirking. He needed no sleep. Unless he wished to just rest for a moment, since he never truly slept.

He fidgeted in his chair a bit, his inner beast growling at someone so near his space. He took a deep breath calming himself as best he could. He was never good with other people, and actually felt very insecure. not that his father didn't help with the problem. His own disdain drove others to sneer and avoid him.

"hmmm," He commented not really getting what he wanted out of his answer. Still it had a few implications. He wanted to keep busy in the daytime. Did that mean he had work at night? He picked at his food, sipping at his tea slowly, savoring the taste.

He tilted his head. "Something the matter?" he asked, noticing the way he fidgeted. Maybe he was making him feel uncomfortable. Nothing he could do about it really. Xypher placed his elbows on the table and crossed his fingers together, laying his chin atop them. "So, your scent is of brimstone.. Why?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. He figured that he'd beat around the bush for a little bit. He also didn't have much time, as he was on break.

"No!....no, It's just a bit hard for me to keep still, er calm, I guess" he took a large sip of his drink hoping it would help with the edginess he seemed to always feel. He hrumphed softly in his annoyance. Why was it so hard to be calm and normal?

He jerked the teacup, splashing a little as he asked about the brimestone.

"Uh, Well, I spend a lot of time in the underworld. I just snuck up here for a breath of fresh air." He smiled nervously wondering if he would be nervous or sneer at him from being from such a lowly place. he knew a lot of the head Gods though that the underworld was like the ghetto of the gods.

Xypher studied him, raising an eyebrow. "Is that so?" he asked. It did seem he had a hard time to be calm. "Do you sleep well?" Sometimes bad dreams were cause of a person's mood throughout the day. At least, all of what he had seen indicated so. Or maybe it was something else for this particular case. He grabbed a napkin and chuckled, cleaning up the spilled tea. "Oh? I've been there before once or twice." he commented, smiling a little.

He didn't think of it as such a bad place. It had it's own beauty. People only focused on the worst parts of the underworld. He did some areas of the place. Helped when he didn't want to deal with the snooty gods and goddesses. "How did you sneak out though? Should know about the Cerberus that guards the gate. He doesn't really seem the type to let many people pass" he asked, smirking.

( Eheh. XD;; Sorry. Just meant about the fact that supposedly not many could come in and out often. ^ ^; And, he doesn't know he's The Cerberus. >.>; If that makes any sense )

He cocked his head to the side, much alike a dog, while he thought. "I sleep well I think, but i am a light sleeper, any unusual noise around me wakes me, but I don't think I should mess with that, it would interrupt with my responsibilities." He frowned slightly, not liking to think of those duties. He remembered the few times he had let someone in and his father's wrath afterward.

"I suppose, it's okay, I mean I grew up there, but, it can also be very confining." Memories flickered through his mind, most he brushed away before the could surface too strongly. He took a sip of his tea listening to the other man. He snorted, spitting some of his drink out when he commented on Cerberus.


"ah! Sorry!" He immediately grabbed some napkins from the dispenser on the table, he began moping up the table then looked up to see if he had gotten any on the other man.
