Cam was on his way to the church's library when he heard a commotion coming from the front door. He craned his neck to look and saw a bunch of priests dragging a man in chains towards the older part of the church. It was more of a castle than a church really and it looked like they were dragging the man towards the stairs that led towards the dungeons. What in the world? He felt his mouth drop open as he watched them force the man down the stairs.

It was unusual to see priests dragging anything, much less a man. He had seen others dragged down to the dugeons by people other than the priests to be held for awhile. Forgetting the library, he went towards the stairway. He ran into another apprentice, like himself. "What's going on? Who was that man?" The other young man looked at him excitedly with just a touch of fear. "They captured an incubus! I heard they are going to imprison him down there in the dungeons until someone from higher up can come and deal with what to do with him."

Cam's eyes widened in surprise. An incubus? He had heard about them and read about them certainly but had never seen one. He was sure they weren't going to let a mere apprentice down there so he would have to go take a look after things had settled down. His curiosity was getting the better of him, like it did time and time again. He had just gotten a stern talking to about asking too much about the more secular books in the library.

The other boy had hurried away after speaking to him so he was alone for the moment. He walked over to the stairs and looked down them, wondering if he could get away with going down them and finding a spot out of the way to wait, so he could go take a peek at the supposed 'incubus'. He looked around to see if anyone was coming and then ducked down the stairs and headed into the darkness ahead. If he was lucky he could find a place to hide before anyone came back up this way.

The priests had placed an odd, bag-like object over the Incubus' head so that his face wasn't visible. The only thing that could be seen feature-wise was that he had pale, creamy-colored skin. This was for safety reasons. Incubi were crafty creatures that relied on their looks and power over lust and seduction to get what they wanted.

The priests stored the Incubus in the deepest part of the dungeon. It was the oldest part, as well...it had been used as a torture chamber back in medieval times. But nowadays, it was used as a storage room. The room was never locked, but today the priests locked it. The lock was old and rusted and would easily be broken...it would probably come undone if it was jostled around a bit.

After locking the demon up in his cell, the priests seemed satisfied enough and returned to the upper floors of the church. They had scattered holy water in a thick circle around the cell in the torture chamber, hoping to prevent the Incubus from escaping.

Cam had just found a place to sit and wait when he heard footsteps approaching. He quickly moved back into the shadows and watched as the priests walked past his hiding place and back up the stairs. This was his chance! He started to walk silently towards where the priests had come from, trying to be as quiet as possible.

He came up on the cell the priests had locked the Incubus in. He could make out the circle around the outside of the cell. They must have put holy water there just in case he gets out of that cell Peering inside he could barely make out the figure of a man. He moved closer to the bars trying to get a better look and tripped over a chunk of rock. He put his hands out to steady himself but slammed against the bars anyway. He froze, knowing the Incubus must have heard him.

The man's head snapped up. He'd shaken himself around so the bag-like object on his head had fallen off. And, as legends spoke of...

...he was drop-dead gorgeous. Even another male would find him attractive in more ways than one. He had soft, shiny black hair and attractive features. A sign of his demonic status, he also had chilling dark crimson eyes. He was wearing some simple clothes--a plain white dress shirt and some black slacks.

The moment he caught sight of the human, pressed against the bars of his cell, he flashed him a honey-sweet smile...a winning smile.

"Hello there..." His voice did not help to ease the awkwardness. It was soft and sultry...velvety.

He snapped his head up as he heard the velvety voice coming from the cell. His pale amber eyes immediatly went to the Incubus's smile that he had thrown his way. His mouth dropped open. Wow, he's...beautiful He felt his cheeks growing red as he found himself unable to speak for a moment. Cam's eyes drifted up to the man's eyes, startled to find them a dark crimson color.

Unsure of how to proceed, he backed off of the bars slightly and tried to get control of himself again. "Um..hello." He noticed the door to the cell had a rusty old lock on it that looked as if a soft breeze could make it fall off. Why had they even bothered putting it on there? He found himself drawn back to the gorgeous man in the cell.

Something registered in the demon's eyes when the blush fell over the human's face. It was as if he knew exactly what had run through Cam's mind about him. He shifted a bit, seeming uncomfortable with the chains on him. He had spread the chains as far apart as he possibly could...so it was clear to see that he had quite a figure on him. Just the right amount of muscle, and not too much.

"I suppose this is an odd way to acquaint yourself with someone new...but, regardless." The Incubus kept his smile going strong. "My name is Hirschel...you may call me Hershey, if you so wish. Or just Hirsch...whatever is most acceptable on your tongue."

He glanced disdainfully and unhappily at the circle of holy water surrounding his cell. It seemed to set him on edge.

Cam could tell the Hirsch was uncomfortable with the chains around him. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the man. He knew he shouldn't but he reached for the lock on the door and gave it a push. It crumbled to the floor and he let the door swing inward. I shouldn't be doing this. What am I doing?

He hesitated before entering the cell. Obviously the man couldn't get out of his chains, so why was he still afraid? He gathered his courage and went in, letting the door shut silently behind him. "I'm Cameron, but I prefer to be called Cam," he said rather shyly. He could feel the allure of the man but tried to ignore it for the moment. There was something about him that called to him. It might just be what he was but Cam wasn't sure. He lifted his eyes to Hirsch's again and looked into them unwaveringly.

The Incubus watched with interest as Cam entered the cell, giving him a deliberately slow glance-over. He couldn't help it. He checked out nearly everyone he laid eyes on. He cursed inwardly when he noticed that the human didn't step inside the circle of holy water. He wanted to properly greet him and shake his hand, perhaps, but he couldn't.

"Charmed." Hirsch grinned at him. He had a charming grin, of course. "I'm surprised. I thought no one would want to come down here and be face-to-face with someone like me..."

Cam blinked a couple of times before his eyes completely adjusted to the dim light in the cell. He saw the priests had put a circle of holy water on the inside of the cell. He noticed Hirsch giving him a once over and blushed again. He looked at the Incubus with surprise and took in his charming smile. He couldn't help but smile back.

"Oh well...I didn't really believe what everyone was saying and wanted to find out for myself if the rumors were true. I saw them drag you down here earlier. I'm not supposed to be down here at all and if they catch me I'm sure it won't be very good for either of us." He hesitated for a moment and then throwing caution to the wind he stepped inside the circle of holy water. "You don't seem that bad to me."

He looked at the incubus's chains and frowned. If he couldn't cross over the holy water then what was the point in keeping him chained up? He could see if they needed to take him out of the cell but really he didn't see anyone from high up coming anytime soon. He was an apprentice but he didn't have quite the same fanaticism that the others here did. He tried to keep his open mindedness to himself but it was hard sometimes. If he wanted to stay here though he had to make sure they thought he was just like everyone else.

"Do you really want to know if the rumors are true? If I am the demon they claim I am...there are limited ways to prove that," Hirsch retorted, looking amused. Incubi were rumored to lure men and women of all ages, and even children, into sexual situations. They were also well-known among some religious groups for raping people in their sleep.

"Oh. You should probably shove off, soon...I wouldn't want you getting in too much trouble..." His voice was a low and somewhat wounded croon this time around. He already felt lonely. Even when they weren't getting down to business, Incubi craved the company of others.

He visibly perked up when Cam stepped inside of the second circle of holy water. He shifted himself around and then managed to partially extend one of his hands to the human. "Let me properly greet you." He seemed like a gentleman, at least...

Cam turned bright red as he thought about the limited ways Hirsch had mentioned. How stupid am I? "Oh..um of course." He gave out a nervous laugh but then sobered as he heard the wounded tone of the demons voice. He sounded so...lonely. Cam felt his heart twist with a need to make the man smile again.

He saw him perk up as he entered the circle and immediately felt better. He hated to see anyone in pain, no matter if it was from sadness or anything else. With a wary look he hesitantly stepped a little closer and put his hand in Hirsch's. His hand was so...soft. He instantly felt ashamed of his own slightly rough hands. He braced himself in case the incubus had other plans on his mind other than a handshake.

He might look slender but all his was pure muscle. He worked out secretly so that the others wouldn't ask him what he was doing. He was supposed to be a scholar not a fighter. He found himself admiring Hirsch's body before he put his hand out but quickly drew his eyes back to Hirsch's as he waited to see what the man would do.

Hirsch's hand closed slowly around Cam's. His skin was a little warmer than Cam's was, but that was because he was a different species. He didn't mind the roughness of the other's hand. In fact, he seemed to find that rather attractive, for he smiled once again.

"So. I assume I'm going to die sometime in the span of the next few days...I was promised a timely death when they captured me," he informed Cam, seeming solemn again. "Unless, of course, I find a way to escape. Right now it's quite impossible. I can deal with one circle of holy water. But there are two..."

He bowed his head slightly. "I do nothing wrong. I never have done anything remotely wrong...well...anything violent or unkind, anyway. I don't see why my species warrants a death sentence..."

He started a bit when he felt the warmth that came from Hirsch's hand. Demons were supposed to be hotter after all. He found he couldn't quite put the word demon with the beautiful creature in front of him. He found himself gazing avidly at the incubus before coming back to his senses when he mentioned he was going to die.

It felt like a bucket of cold water had been poured down his back. They were going to kill him? He felt an uncalled for rage spring up inside him. This wasn't right! Yes, Hirsch was an incubus but that didn't mean he deserved to die. "W-what? That's not right," he blurted out, anger radiating from him. His mind swiftly processed all the information. What negates holy water? What was he thinking? He wasn't really thinking of helping Hirsch escape was he? There would be no return for him if he did. He would be a wanted man. Did he really want that? He thought for a moment and found that he did. However he was going to make sure that Hirsch wasn't just trying to trick him into helping him, just to leave him at the mercy of the angry mob he knew would follow.

He had to admit to himself that he felt a strong attraction to Hirsch, but was it just the pull of what he was or was it more? He didn't feel compelled to sleep with the man instantly but maybe it was because he hadn't turned his full charm on Cam. Cam shook his head to himself. He needed to find out more before making such a huge decision.

He looked up at Hirsch, uncertainty showing in his eyes. "I don't think you deserve to die at all. You can't help what you are, just as I can't help being human."

Hirsch seemed surprised by Cam's sudden outburst. He had expected the human to simply agree with the others of his kind. After all, in the human world, demons were seen as very negative creatures. By rule of their own world, demons were usually forbidden to step into the human world unless it was a matter of life and death.

Rare creatures, Incubi could live off of sleeping with demons as well as humans. Unlike Vampires, another form of demon, they didn't need anything at all from humans...so, they were usually not permitted in the human world. Hirsch was a high-ranking Incubus. He had earned his permission to fiddle around in the human world.

Hirsch hadn't turned his full charm on Cam. Not yet. He knew the mental and physical effects his powers could have on a human, especially a younger human. They could be quite detrimental...

"...That is true, I suppose. By rule of our world, we aren't supposed to really mess with the human world. However!" Hirsch straightened as much as he could with the chains still draped over him. "I'm fascinated by your world, you see. I would much rather spend my days here than in my home world...I have to admit that the reasons for my fascination are a mystery to me. But it is there, no doubt..."

He sounded like a small child in a candy store. Even with the threat of imminent death hanging over his shoulders, he still seemed somewhat cheery.

Cam frowned at the chains again. If Hirsch was telling the truth then he couldn't go beyond the second circle of holy water. Those chains looked pretty stout but Cam knew how to open them easily. Before he had become an apprentice he had roamed the streets and been taken in by a thief. The thief had showed him how to pick almost every kind of lock before he had died in a sudden fire one night. Cam had only been 10 at the time and had ended up passing out in front of the very church they were in now. The priests had taken him in and started his apprenticeship a few years later when he expressed an interest in learning. Of course they didn't realize that he wasn't as intrested in learning about being a priest as he just had a desire to learn about everything he could. In fact he was finding himself growing quite bored with the life of a scholar. He wanted to do things, not just read about them in a book. He had figured out very quickly that if he wanted a place to stay and not roam on the streets that he should just go along with their idea and blend into the background.

He looked at Hirsch with surprise as he heard the tone in his voice. Even being chained and thrown in a dungeon hadn't seemed to damper his spirits that much. That was a good sign, as least in Cam's opinion. The thought that Hirsch was from another world entirely intrigued him. He had never thought very highly of the priests notions that this was the only world there was. He looked at Hirsch, the frown still on his face.

"I should be able to get rid of those chains for you. I'm sure that can't be comfortable at all." He said this like he was just asking about the weather. If he got caught...well it was better not to think about it.

It was Hirsch's turn to look surprised. By the look of this boy, he was clearly a young priest, perhaps an apprentice of some sort. Why would he want to release a demon his comrades had worked so diligently to capture? It seemed like a waste to him...but he did get to go free, and that was a plus.

"...Well. I don't want to get you in too much trouble," he commented, a tad concerned. "But if you want to undo the chains, go ahead. I still can't move, until at least one of those circles is dealt with..." He eyed the circles of holy water with distaste. He could deal with one...not two. Even the sight and smell of holy water made him cringe...it was one of his only weaknesses.

He closed his eyes, relaxing as best he could. "It would be just heavenly if I could get out of here. Really, I've done nothing wrong. I was simply going along my way when they pounced me..."

Hirsch sniffed slightly, scowling. "Home sounds nice right about now. A nice warm blanket and some hot chocolate. Why, this is the first time I've wanted to lay down and relax in weeks..."

He grinned at the look of surprise on Hirsch's face. He went closer to the incubus and pulled the lock out so that he could study it for a moment. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a small draw string brown bag. He opened it and stuck his hand inside rummaging around until he found what he wanted. He pulled out a small piece of wire that had a strange hook looking thing on the end of it. He stuck the hook end into the intricate looking lock and fiddled with it for a moment. His hair fell into his face as he looked down at the lock. Concentrating he moved it a few different ways when a soft click could be heard. Grinning he pulled the lock free from the chains surrounding Hirsch and put it to the side. "Those should just slide right off now."

He put his strange tool back into his pouch and then put it back into the hidden pocket he had concealed in his pants. He always carried his tools with him just in case he ever needed them. Obviously the priests didn't know about them or his hidden talents. He took great care not to let them know either. He looked up at Hirsch, pleased with himself. I'll bet he didn't think I could do something like that. Looks can be deceiving after all. "Hmm hot chocolate does sound heavenly. Now as for the holy water, I don't have a clue about how to do anything about getting rid of it. Do you?" His heart started to pound as he realized just how close he was to Hirsch. He hadn't realized he had gotten so close as he was working on the lock. Once again he was struck by how gorgeous the man was.

Hirsch immediately began to slip the chains off of himself. Now that the lock was useless, it was easily for him to wrestle his way out of the chains. They slid off and to the floor, with a series of chinking and clattering noises. Once they were all off, Hirsch stretched his arms and legs gratefully. "Mm. Thank you," he purred, his voice taking on a lusty sort of tone.

He had noticed their close proximity. He was very aware of it. He could almost hear the human's heart pounding in his own head. He decided not to make a move, for now, but he did inch a little closer.

"Perhaps there is something in one of your priestly books that can help?" he suggested, softly.

"Your wel-" The words died in his mouth as Hirsch moved closer. Any closer and there wouldn't be even air between them. He found himself speechless as he looked at Hirsch. Without the chains on him, he was even more breathtaking. He felt his heart racing as he tried to compose himself. As hard as it was to do, he finally regained control of himself so that he could speak again.

"Perhaps I could find..something." What was he saying?! He hadn't even started to find out more about Hirsch and yet here he was, thinking of going up to the library and searching for a book about holy water. He shook his head slightly, trying to clear the intoxication of having Hirsch so close. Finally he regained a little of his senses. "What do I get if I help you?" He shook his head before the incubus could say anything. "No I don't mean anything sexual either. If I get caught helping you I'm sure they won't hesitate to kill me." He took a deep breath to steady himself. As much as he was attracted to Hirsch, it wouldn't do either of them any good if neither was alive.

Hirsch watched an internal struggle seem to develop within the other male, a hidden sort of glee behind his eyes. He couldn't help flirting with nearly everyone he spoke to...though he only seriously tried to seduce potential fun for the night. He was a fan of large and passionate orgies and flitting around local brothels searching for amusement for the night. Incubi needed sex to live, after all.

Hirsch blinked, tilting his head slightly at Cam's question and quick addition to it. "...Well. What do you want?" he asked, point-blank. He wasn't going to offer anything to the human unless he knew what he wanted. There were many things he could offer, mind you...

Cam thought it over for a minute. He was tired of being an apprentice priest especially when he had no intention of becoming one in the long run. He didn't have anywhere to go if he left the church however. He felt a growing need to see more of the world. I wonder if humans are allowed to visit the demon world... He looked down as he thought.

"Well obviously I would rather not die as I'm sure you wouldn't want to either. Their going to find out eventually who helped you and then what am I going to do?" He looked up at Hirsch again, determination in his eyes. "The only way I can see is if I come with you and hide until they stop searching for both of us." He wasn't sure how the incubus would react to his request when he heard it. He felt a coil of desire in the pit of his stomach as he looked back up into Hirsch's eyes. Even though he had said nothing sexual, he didn't want that as his reward for helping him get free of this place. He wanted Hirsch to want him without the pressure of a debt hanging on his head.

"You can come with me. Though I'm not there often, I do have a home back in my world. My brother lives there and tends to everything while I'm not home..." Hirsch explained, without hesitation. "I would have to hide you, though. And if we have company, you have to pretend to be either my servant or my concubine. Humans aren't permitted in my world unless they're taken as servants or concubines..."

He shifted a bit, eyeing the circle of holy water distastefully. It made his skin tingle and tighten, and not in a good way. Incubi were some of the most susceptible demons. Humans had many weapons that could repel them.

Cam looked up, a bit surprised that Hirsch had agreed so quickly and without any hesitation. He nodded as Hirsch explained about if someone happened to 'drop in'. "I could do that, no problem." He was surprised at how quickly he had decided to help the Incubi. He frowned as he thought about how to negate holy water. "Wait, won't your brother say anything? Or would I need to pretend around him as well."

He thought he had seen a book in the library on holy water and it's properties. Maybe that would have something in it, or he could just 'innocently' ask one of the priests. That might be a better option. After all, it wouldn't seem strange if he asked about it since everybody knew about the Incubi being held in the church. Then again that would lead a direct trail to him after they had escaped.
