A Princely Knight

(What can I say? I've got a bit of a flare for the dramatic ;)

My character
Name: Lelouch Lupine
Age: Unknown as he was an orphan but roughly 19
Occupation: Knight
Species: Half human half wolf. Has two forms. One is where he turns into a full wolf. The second form is the form he is usually in. He is human but has sharper than normal nails/claws on his hands and feet, he does not have human ears and instead has wolf ears on top of his head and a wolf tail. He also has all the advanced senses of a wolf while in 'human form' and is able to shift between the two easily.

Species: human*
Bio: he is the only heir to the throne . His mother died and father remarried but she can not give birth so many are out to kill him and his father to take the thrown his last knight died protecting him. He is very guilt ridden about it. He doesn't talk much and is kinda timid but a sweet guy all together.*

Lelouch could not deny that he was nervous. It had not been long since one of his companions, a fellow Knight, had been killed while protecting the prince. He had been given the honour of becoming the prince's new Knight. He was thrilled to be given such a high position, it was one of the greatest gifts he had ever been bestowed with, but on the other hand...
He feared that he would be unable to protect his prince. It was true that he studied hard and he was a good fighter, in both human and animal form, but he was not much older than the prince himself.
Lelouch resolutely pushed his doubts to the back of his mind. He would worry about that later. For now he had more urgent matters to attend to. He packed the last of his belongings, removing them carefully from the small chest of drawers in the barricks that he had been given, and prepared to be moved to a new room closer to the prince so that he may protect the heir to the throne whenever he was needed.
He paused when he came accross a small portrait. It was framed in a plain, wooden frame stained dark by the years and in the frame was a small portrait of his parents. He had never known them as they had been killed before he could remember them and all he knew was that his mother had given her life for the kingdom and that his father had been a knight and hd passed the tradition on to him. He intended to hunour his father's wishes and vowed to be the best knight he could be. He was unafraid to sacrifice himself if it meant saving his prince.
He sighed one last time before carefully adding the picture to the bag full of his belongings, swinging the bag over his shoulder and walking out of the room he had called his for the last fourteen years.
He stared up at the imposing image of the palace before taking a deep breath and entering.

Rayne was sitting at his thrown eyes turned downwards he had been dreading this all day. He was to meet his new knight thought he told his father he didnt want one hed rather die then let someone die for him again. it made his heart hurt all the time now. it had only been about a day or two since he saw Kaiden fall . He had truely trusted that man and got along with him.

He brought his hand up touching the necklace the male gave him as he laid there dieing in his small arms. His gold eyes were distant and his crown hung down like the womans it was to show how young he truly was. Also he hated the regular crowns. He heard from a severent the knight had arrived andhis father told them to take his things and send the male here while they put them in the new knight room.

Rayne felt his heart race as he knew the male would walk threw the door anytime soon and see the prince noone ever saw unless sent to be his personal gaurd.

Lelouch stared at the imposing image of the great entrance doors to the throne room. This was it. He was about to meet the prince. He had never seen the heir to the throne before and only knew what he had been told by his superiors. He was nervous as his things were taken from him and sent to his room. He was in his new uniform of blue and silver with a dark cape-cloak attacked. It billowed behind him as he walked and he felt rather foolish with it on but it was necessary, at least for the first meeting.
The great wooden doors swung open and Lelouch entered as confidently as he coud, his eyes scanning the surroundings with barely concealed awe. It was a beautiful room and highly decorated but not overly so and the sound of his boots against the stone floor rung out in the silence of the room.
It was then that he turned his eyes to the prince seated at the head of the throne room.
As he eached the throne he knelt before of his prince and bowed his head, his ears lowered instead of pointing upwards like usual.
He waited iwth baited breath for his prince to speak.

The boy watched the wolf enter well wolf human but still. His knioght last time was a lion . His heart raced alittle the males eyes were odd colored and pretty. His outfit well it was a normal thing for him to see he didnt care much for fancy attire.
" You must be my new knight." He breathed his angelic voice ringing threw the big hall. " First thing you must know is i want us to be equals you dont bow to me." He stated softly his voice oh so caring and thoughtful.
His dad sighed his so was a pansy yes but hed make a good king he thought things threw and even thought with his heart. He was exactly like his true mother . A spiting image aswell.
" May i be excused now father?" He turned to look at the dark haired man . Who nodded. " Take lelouch with you." He stated and the boy climbed down and walked over to lelouch . " come friend." He breathed and locked his pretty wide and longlashed gold eyes on the male .

At his prince's words Lelouch stood and raised his eyes to meet the prince's golden hues. They were beautiful, one of the purest shades of gold he had ever had the fortune to gaze upon.
As the prince approached his ears twitched.
He was surprised at the young heir's words. Did he really intend for them to be equals? He had not thought there was even a possibility of such a thing. He was a mere Knight, loyal to his prince and to the kingdom, but the idea of being treated as an equal...
He was brought out of his thoughtt ss the prince spoke to him again. Did he just say that Lelouch was a friend? He fought back the surprised look on his face and nodded his head mutely before turning and following obediently out of the grand throne room. The doors swung shut behind Lelouch as he exited behind his prince.
'What now?' he silently wondered to himself.

Once the door shut he turned towards lelouch. " you dont have to come with me if you dont want ." He stated matter of factly as he walked down the hall. He was rubbing the medaling that was kaidens as he walked he was heading to the garden . He loved it there he even planted a rose bush for his fallen companion the man had always said he loved white roses.
He steppped out side no caring if the knight had followed him out or not. " Goodmorning darlings." He spoke to his garden and grabed the watercan to make is rounds and give water to his babies. it was the only thing he was really good for.

Lelouch raised his eyebrow as he observed the prince tend to his palnts. He had followed the prince despite the young heir's words. He wanted to follow the prince, tp protect him. It was his duty as a Knight after all.
Different scents and sounds floated on the air as Lelouch entered the garden and his ears twitched and his nostrils flared as he tried to take them al in at once. He sneezed and tried to cover it up with a cough as some pollen entered his nose. He glanced around before removing the cloak that covered his shoulders. It was annoying and quite impractical. How was he suposed to defend his prince if he had that piece of fabric that doubled as a tent flailing behind him all the time?
He relaxed as the material was released from his sholders and he carefully folded it up and set it down gently before straightening to observe the prince at work.

Rayne felt the males presence and heard him cough and a sneeze before . He smiled and glanced over shaking his head as he watched him remove the weird cape thing.. Blonde locks flailing cutely when he did and he began to hum. He hummed a soft song as he watered. Once he was done he set the watering can back under the pump. " My names rayne by the way." He breathed not many knew his first name most just called him prince rosen.

Lelouch blinked in surprise as the prince offered him his name. This was certainly unexpected.
"I am Lelouch," he replied in turn. His voice sounded strange to his own ears although he was unsure why. It felt strange talking with the prince like this, so informal, as if they were just ordinary people having an ordinary conversation rather than prince and knight. He turned his head and brushed some hair out of his eyes with annoyance before turning back to face the prince. He tried to make light of the gesture but it was one he had picked up when he was younger, moving his hair about and he just couldn't shake it, no matter what age he was.

Rayne looked at the male and smiled at his name. " thats a cool name , lelouch." He breathed sweetly and sat down on the soft grass. He noticed the hair thing it was cute. He layed back and sighed . " Lelouch why do knights do what they do?" He asked he always had the question but he could never ask anyone .

Lelouch blinked in confusion at the prince's question.
"You mean why do Knights serve the royal family the way we do?" He thought for a moment, debating the best way to answer before internally shrugging. "We do what we do because we want to." It was the simplist and most honest answer he could think of. "We are loyal to the Royal Family and, if need be, we will willingly lay down our lives to protect any member. Our animal features represent different meanings, each animal has a different representation. For example, I have the spirit of a wolf which means I am loyal to my pack while other creatures, such as a lion, represent strength. That is why you do not see any animals such as rats or weasels who becoem knights. Of, if there are any, they are very scarce as they most commonly represent deceit and cowardise. Each Knight is born with these features, with their animal spirit, which manifests in their appearance and, if they are judged worthy, begin training to be a knight. This is only if they wish to though. No one is ever forced to become a knight."

The boy just listened his heart hurt when he said lion. He audimatically thought of kaiden how he would always complain about he would get diry laying in the grass or not to run so fast or to stop smiling so much it was making men want him. He shut his eyes and felt the breeze. " That is odd , i never wanted any knights i rather die then let others die in my place you see i have no self worth kaiden always said i was a imbercile." He breathed softly showing the male what he thought of the knigth system in his own way.

"No you're not," Lelouch aid quickly. "The fact that you care about what happens to the people around you, the fact that you're willing to get hurt to protect them, shows that you've got a strong character. One of my teachers always said that if a leader can't understand and look after the people he comands then he's not doing his job properly." Lelouch suddenly realised his outburst and quickly closed his mouth, his ears flicking slightly upwards before lowering again. He resisted the urge to pace back and forth. It was a habbit he had picked up when he was younger, pacing when he was stressed or uncomfortable, it seemed to relieve some of the tension in his body when he did it.

Rayne sat up looking at the male he never heard someone speak to him so freely like that or even that way. it felt good to have someone slap him in the face with words. " You can sit by me you know." He whispered softly . " i dont bite... well anymore anyways." He joked softly. " you seem to know alot . Do you think i would make a good leader? i really think dad should chose another to take my place all i want is to have a family and live far away from people. " He muttered truthfully . He disliked most people they were all fakes who wanted nothing but money like all the males and females who tried to take him as their fiance.

Lelouch hesitated at the prince's words. Should he? He glanced around at the garden. No one else seemed to be around and he couldn't detect anything with his wolf-like senses. Besides, he would be closer to the prince so if anything did happen he'd be in a good position to defend the young heir.
"Very well, your highness," Lelouch murmured, stepping carefully over to the prince and gracefully sitting down beside the blonde. His tail, which was currently wrapped around his waist under his coat, twitched and Lelouch resisted the urge to upwrap it. He shifted slightly and made himself comfortable beside the prince and looked at him.
"I think," Lelouch began, chosing his words carefully this time. "I think that you could make a good leader for the people. They need someone to look up to when times are hard and they need someone that will listen to their problems and hear what they have to say and genuinely care."

Rayne smiled when the male sat down that's when he noticed no tail? Weird maybe he was hiding it. He looked at the male as he spoke and his heart thumped softly he was so close it made him feel weird but it wasn't a bad weird . " your really enjoyable to be around lelouch ." he breathed and hugged the male. Yes he hugged he scared alot of people because he loved to hug. He let go and blushed softly . " sorry I'm huggy oh question. Where's you tail?" he asked the question innocently he was young sweet naive . Even beautiful he was as rare as some of the blossoms that bloomed in his garden . That's what his father thought and only got the best nights to gaurd him.*

He half smiled at the prince's comment about him being fun to be around. That was a new one. He was a loner by nature after all. Lelouch automatically shifted to accomodate the prince as he was hugged. His mind reeled with questions as he was hugged by the prince. He could feel the heat rising in his cheeks and willed it away.
"There is no need to apologise," he assured the prince quickly. He blinked at the question about his tail and looked down to his waist where the tail was currently curled under his jacket.
He turned back to the prince and tilted his head."Why do you ask?" His tail twitched and, seemingly with a life of it's own, unwound from around his waist and slipped out from under his jacket. It was the same black colour as his hair and ears.

Rayne blushed and was about to say he met a few people without tails and that he liked tails they were pretty and such . He stopped and noticed the males pretty black tail and pet it without thinking he was so silky smooth and soft! " Ah sorry i like tails ." He muttered cutely pulling his hand away. " i think itd be cool to be part animal and dad always says im an odd child becuase i wish i wasnt born human," he breathed truthfully.
Running finger threw his golden bangs so you could see more of his golden eyes and longlashes. even his crown was more visible now.

Lelouch barely resisted the urge to purr as the prince stroked his tail. No one had ever done that before. When he was in training or in a village some of the others would often pull his tail as a prank or try and pin him down using it. His tail had gone through a lot of abuse but the way the prince was handling it, softly, was nice.
"It's alright," Lelouch answered, blinking his eyes to clear his slightly fogged mind. "It is...different when you are born like this. You see, smell, touch, taste and hear things differently."
Lelouch's tail flicked as the fingers playing with it pulled away and, before Lelouch could think about it, his tail was wrapping itself around the prince's wrist.
"Sorry!" Lelouch ssaid quickly, unwinding his tail as fast as he could. His ears flicked downwards and he could feel his cheeks warning with embarrassment. He quickly wrapped his tail around his right arm to keep it out of the way.

Rayne blinked when the tail wraped around his wrist and a huge smile appeared and a soft laugh . IT rang threw the garden like a wind chime. He hadnt laughed for weeks it felt so good to laugh again. " Its okay tails have a mind of their own right" He breathed and reached up petting the males ears to try to get them unpressed down. Then unwrapped the tail from his arm he found it odd he was being all touchy with this guy he had no space issues maybe that was why. " anyway i like yor tail its so soft like your ears. " he breathed and petted the taill mroe fixing the soft fur. " Whats it like the sences?" He added asking a soft question.

As his tail was stroked and his ears petted Lelouch began to relax. He closed his eyes and slumped slightly, enjoying the sensation.
"Well," he began, trying to think past the slight fog in his mind. "Since I am part wolf I have exceptionally good hearing and vission, especially in the dark since, for full wolves, it is important to be able to hunt during that time. I can smell a deer from quite a fair distance away and if it is male or female or a foal."
He relaxed furhter as his ears were petted and he gave up trying to control the purring noise that was bubbling up in his throat. The conbination of the prince's light touch and his silvery laugh was so relaxing...

rayne smiled and continued petting . " thats cool i truly have horrible vision when i was little i was techincally blind." He breathed and heard him purr causing him to smiled more and laugh cutely . " your like acat you purr." He pointed out sitting closer so he could pet him easier. Also wanting to feel him purring. He could only see so far now and things blurred and shifted all the time but he never told anyone the healer did enough he could see that was all that mattered.

"Just because you're blind, or even half blind, it doesn't mean you're helpless," Lelouch said, leaning further into the prince's touch. He was a little afronted at being compared to a cat but he could see why. "I am not a cat," he said simply. "Sometimes I just...react in a similar manner to a cat."
It was a pretty rubbish explanation and Lelouch knew it but he couldn't really bring himself to care. He was much more focused on the gentle fingers petting his ears. His tail wrapped itself around the prince's arm again happily without Lelouch noticing the shift.
