Princess Rayna Le'Ange

17

Rayna comes from one of the longest royal families in the European area. Her father had enough heirs, legitimate and not legitimate, to populate an island the size of Greece. She was the next in line to be married and was being put on a boat to be shipped to a prince near Canada. The princess was a bit bossy at times but was more scared about being alone in a foregin country.

Although she is a princess, she is more fragile because she was born with a weak bones and immune system.

Captain Harcle Fin Basia

Nineteen

Harcle is the young captain of the Ashling pirate crew. The previous captain and his right-hand man had been recently killed in battle...Harcle and his right-hand man, Wyatt, were their apprentices, training to take their places. Harcle did not expect to be crowned captain so soon, and thus he is very inexperienced. The crew, however, is loyal to him and helps him and the young right-hand man, who also serves as the navigator, along. He's a charismatic, sort of silly young man who hasn't yet fully matured as an adult. He still jokes around like a kid.

Navigator/Right-Hand Man Wyatt Seysch Aisenyl

Seventeen

Wyatt is the right-hand man of Harcle, the captain of the Ashling pirates. He is also a novice navigator and serves as the head navigator of the ship now that the old navigator is dead. Like Harcle, Wyatt is very inexperienced. He's also withdrawn and somewhat antisocial, and he spends most of his time pacing around the ship with his world map, muttering to himself. He is the youngest crewman on board and is hassled for his girlish looks by the other crew members. He has three barely visible scars on his left cheek and won't reveal how he got them to anyone.

The sun rose steadily above the horizon as the day arrived. A joyous, sorrowful, and torturous day for the people of Rostice. Their most beloved princess was being shipped off to be married by her father. She was one of the legitimate children of the king so it was part of her duty to be married off to another royal. Needless to say, she was the one being tortured by this decision.

The princess laid in her bed and watched the sun rise as she sighed. Her blue eyes closed as a tear rolled onto her pillow before she sat up. The waves of gold fell behind her as she sat up in her blue nightdress and swung her legs over the edge of the bed. "Today is the day..." She spoke softly with a voice full of sorrow but hints of pride existed.

Her maids came in to bathe and dress her before she was to be delivered to the dock. Rayna loved the sea and hated being a captive the castle she lived in. She wanted to see this as an adventure but the thought of being married terrified her.

The seas around the area were not known for being hospitable. No, recently they had been plagued by different crews of pirates. According to local authorities, there were at least six different crews of pirates hanging around the area within thirty-five miles of the shore. They stalked the trade routes, hoping to score big by taking over merchant ships. People were killed and went missing in these waters every single week.

As such, the boat that was to be transporting the princess was armed with quite a few cannons and volunteer servicemen who could operate them and fight off invaders. The ship was disguised as a merchant ship...but for the disguise to work, the princess would have to stay below deck.

After being dressed in a blue gown, the princess was taken to the dock in an unmarked carriage. She was dressed plainly as to not reveal her true lineage and make the ship's chance of a successful mission go down even more. Rayna rode alone after saying good-bye to those who cared about her at the castle.

Her eyes closed as she prayed for a safe journey and for a happy life ahead of her. The smell of salt water in the air let her know that she had reached her destination. Rayna lifted the hood of her cloak over her head before getting out of the carriage.

She looked around briefly before being escourted onto the ship by a knight dressed as a sailor. The ship would be leaving port as soon as her belongings were brought on board.

((Feel free to move the ship and start the attack if you want to move things along. :3))

Little did the crew of the ship escorting the princess know that just a few miles off-shore, hiding behind a large outcropping of rocks in the distance, was a rather sizable pirate ship, filled to the brim with rough-and-tough, burly pirates itching to get their hands on some valuable treasure.

From the distance, this ship looked very menacing, especially with all the eager pirates on board waiting to strike the first promising ship they saw. However, if one was to look more closely, it was easy to see that there were a few things...well...wrong with this ship.

There appeared to be a general sort of disorder on the ship. Crew members were bumping into each other, scrabbling to find a better vantage point. There wasn't anyone directing them--there was no captain in sight, so perhaps he was below deck...an odd place to be when the crew was lying in wait of prey to drift by. There also appeared to be a lot of unbridled aggression flowing through the pirates, who would often curse and snap at each other when they bumped into each other or tripped over something.

With the princess' belongings on board, she was escourted down into the captain's quarters. The princess lowered her hood and dismissed the knight who escourted her to stand outside as a guard. Her eyes closed as she sat on her bed and looked out the window towards the sea.

The ship started to move away from its dock a few minutes later. All the members of the crew including the knights worked hard to make sure the ship ran smoothly in case they were attacked. And the vermin of the sea infested these waters, most men aboard the ship knew they'd be attacked but when.

As she watched the sea, Rayna daydreamed of escaping from her horrid future as someone's arm candy and of finding the perfect guy for her. One that loved adventure and lived by his own rules but could also protect her before proving he was a kind and caring man.

The princess laid down on the bed and closed her eyes as she planned on sleeping for most of the trip.

It was just a few seconds after the princess closed her eyes that disaster struck. A loud boom ripped through the air, and a split second later the ship was lurching the side, shuddering from the impact with something large, hard, and round...

There were cannons firing at the ship. As the crew had suspected, pirates had been waiting for a good ship to pass by, and the moment this ship had passed by their rocky hiding spot, the crew had gone on the attack. The large pirate ship was moving towards the much smaller ship at a blinding speed, and its crew was bellowing with anticipation, their swords drawn and at the ready.

The captain was on board this time, and thus order was restored to the motley crew of pirates. The captain was hanging off of one of the taller masts, peering out at the target ship curiously. He looked far too young to be leading this gang of pirates...why, he couldn't have been over thirty!

Rayna was jolted from her bed and looked around as the ship lurched to the side. Her eyes scanned the ship as small splinters started to fall from the ceiling and the booms of gunpowder thundered through the air.

She stood up and stumbled to the door as shouts and wails from the men started to fill the air. The guards at her door told her to stay inside and to barracade her door. Her eyes stayed on them as they shut and locked the door as the crew fought the pirates as they drew closer.

The princess grew scared but tried to push the heavy furniture towards the door. Rayna panted as she got the dresser in front of the door before closing her eyes as she sweat.

Her ship's captain tried to move the ship away from the pirates as her ship returned cannon fire. The ship's crew brought out guns to shoot at the pirates that were attacking their ship.
