Hi! My friend and I were discussing making a group RP that would have something to do with Greek mythology. Maybe something based on the Percy Jackson novels but not necessarily those specific characters. Original characters are more than welcome.

If your interested please let me know in this thread. I don't want to start the actual thread until I know that there will be enough people to keep this going. Once we have enough people, I'll start the thread and have people PM me their character Skeletons.

I did have some thoughts toward the plot. There would be unrest among the gods and it would be up to the demigods/half-bloods to figure out what's going on and decide which side to take. Personally, I don't know if I want it to be the same exact plot as Percy Jackson with Kronos rising back into power, but if the consensus of the group is that plot, I would hope that it wouldn't end up being a replay of the books.

Like CrimsonShadow, I'd rather wait to see the plot before I fill anything out (though I have a sort of idea of who I want to use). As for plot it sort of depends what type of thing we're going for. And I'm personally fine with taking some elements of Percy Jackson, but plot-wise I'd rather stray away from that as much as possible.

An original plot is always preferable.

Does it have to stick to Greek Mythology? What about if you brought in some Roman Mythology as well since, in a lot of ways, the gods are quite siilar. For example Neptune and Psydon are both gods of the sea and Artemis and Diana are both names for a similar godess, the godess of hunting so what about if it was some kind of clash between the two?

Either that or what about some kind of uprising of the greek people against the gods because their minds have been poisoned (by something or someone) and alone the gods cannot handle it so they must call upon the demi-gods and half-gods to help them.

Sounds interesting, I like mythology a lot. Did you have more of a plot line in mind? Theres a lot you can do in this feild, like maybe a war between the gods, or my personal ideas of like how in the Percy series the son of hermies wanted to have the kids take over for their parents. It could be like the children become split in two because more and more are starting to want their parents to step aside and let them take over, and are willing to do it by any means necessary. It's just a thought either way it sounds cool and I am interested.

I'd love to join this! And I agree that the plot shouldn't follow the Percy Jackson books, but taking elements of it would be good ^^

And are we dealing with only gods and goddesses or are we bringing in some of the monsters like Medusa, Antaeus, etc?

I think it'd be cool if we brought in some of the creatures like Cows Go Moo suggested. Medusa could be interesting, or maybe a half medusa, and some of the other creatures like the one in the story of Odysius, what was the name of that thing, the many headed snake-water-monster. Was it the Kraken? I'm not sure but I don't think so.

The many headed creature from the Odyssey is Scylla ^^ Charybdis is the whirlpool next to Scylla, if you're not killed by one then the other will get you
(studying the Odyssey for Classical Civilization class XD)

Also, by having monsters, do we mean kids of monsters? Or actual monsters involved?
