"dont woorie about cassie. shes nice. the really only two t be worried about are kyoko and jason," Kelsey said. she finished her sandwich and started eating her pudding.

cassie heard kyoko gathering the other kids for lunch. she wondered if alce and kelsey would be in trouble for leaving early. if so she would tell kyoko that she brought them.

Alice looked up and smiled "I guess she is she gave me something for my headaches and it has been working so far" she paused "Well, I have only met Kyoto and she threatened me that she would take me to Jason but I have no idea who he is". She leaned back in her chair and looked at the door smilling.

Lena forced Stella to stop pulling her along. “Kyoko is coming. So be good and do as I tell you,” she whispered the girl. She raised her voice as she gripped the girl’s arm. “Come on Stella it’s time to eat. Now no fussing.”

Stella knew this routine well so she whine and fussed a little bit as she let Lena pull her down the other hall towards the cafeteria.

Once the two of them were at the cafeteria door she let go of the girl’s arm. “Now go on in. I’ll have a treat for you a little later.”

Stella did as she was told and skipped into the cafeteria. She waved to Kelsey and Alice before going to get her food.

Alice saw the girl come in and remembered her, she was the one that she passed in the hall when she was walking away form Kyoto. When she waved she waved back thinking 'she seems nice', she looked back to Kelsey and smiled.

"Hi Stella," kelsey said.

“Hey Kelsey.” Stella walked over to join the two girls after getting her food. “Who’s your knew friend?” She sat down beside Kelsey looking very curious. One thing Stella always enjoyed was meeting the new patients because in her mind they were members of her “family”. She didn’t really understand why most of the other patients didn’t want to be here since she knew nothing of the outside world.

Alice looked at Stella and said "Hi I am Alice, Alice Carter nice to meet you Stella" she smiled and then looked at Kelsey and back to Stella.

Dexter walked his daughter to the cafeteria for dinner. He spends most of his time at the hospital, if not all, because of his daughter. His wife died at childbirth, and he did not want to leave Layla alone when Jason was around. He knew that Jason knew that he should not dare touch his girl, but he did not want to take any chances. He was the one who usually did the test on Layla, but sometimes he let Cassie do them. He sat Layla to their usually table and got them their plates. He always made sure she had a healthy meal that tasted good.

“How old are you?” Stella asked before shoving a bite of her salad into her mouth.

Kyoko didn't wait for the doctor to show that he had heard her. The girl probably wouldn't make it to dinner by the time he was done with her. She continued down the hall and opened the door to the dining hall. "Here you go, rats. Eat quickly. You won't be able to take food back to your rooms." She left the kids to walk around, get their own food, and sit down while she grabbed her own grub. She sat down at a table by herself, knowing that the others didn't want her anywhere near them. She knew Cassie and Lena were softies. It was amazing that they were still working here.

Jayden grabbed a tray of food and sat down. Most of the time, he played with his food before eating it. It was the most exciting thing all day in his opinion.

Dexter saw Kyoko walk in but did not make any eye contact. He did not like her at all. He was surprised that she even got the job. As far as he was concerned, she did not belong there. She was another reason he stayed there a lot. He did not want her near his daughter. She scared him the most. Even though he was not a "softy," he did treated the children better than Kyoko and Jason. However, he was not as gentle as Lena and Cassie. He was towards his daughter though.

Layla looked over at Jayden and saw him playing with his food. She was a bit shy and did not interacted with the others very much, except for the ones who were there for a very long time. She looked at her father, and he smiled at her. She got up and walked over to Jayden's table. She sat down across from him. "Hello." She said in a quiet, shy voice.

Jayden looked over at the little girl. He didn't remember seeing her before, but he was new here and hadn't met everyone yet. He would have ignored her if this was high school, but they were experiments trapped to live out their lives in this hell hole. Might as well make friends. "Hi. Who are you, might I ask?

Layla looked at him with her cat-like eyes. "My name is Layla." She said with a slight smile. "I am one of the patients, who have been here the longest. I actually have been born here." She said with a sigh. Then, she looked around and leaned in a little closer to whisper. "However, I know about the outside world. I could tell you later how when no one is around."

Alice smiled at the question and said "I'm 14, how about you?", she paused and waited for an answer. She saw Kyoto and other kids walk into the room, she gave Kyoto a dirty looking hoping that she would not notice and then turned back to Stella and Kelsey smilling.

kelsey smiled at stella and finished her meal. she waited for the others to finish. she wasn't going in the halls by herself when doctors were looking for patients to test.

Stella quickly munched on her salad so she could answer Alice. “Yay, I have a new older sister. I’m 10 years old,” she said brightly. Her attention then turned to the others that came in. “It looks like I’ve got another brother and sister to meet later.” She giggled slightly when she realized how loud she was being. "Sorry," she whispered before finishing her food.

Alice looked at her she was a bit confused about it at first and then realized what she ment, she smiled and said "Then I have two new sisters". She turned around to see what Stella was talking about then turned back aroud to face her saying "I guess that I will have to meet them to", she smiled. When Stella said sorry Alice smiled and said "No worries I don't really care".

“Also sorry if I confuse you. I tend to do that a lot to people especially when they are new.” Stella smiled again before looking around. “So should we wait for the others Kelsey and Alice or just go on ahead. Lena said she had something for us and she’d play with us.” She made sure to speak quietly so the hospital staff wouldn’t hear because she didn’t know what would happen to Lena if the bad people knew what all Lena did for them.



Lena skipped lunch and went to the normal meeting place, carrying a few bags and a box. As she walked down the hall she hummed lightly to herself.

" we can wait for &ena" she said.

Alice smiled and said "It is alright I just woke up today so I am still getting used to things around here", she giggled little and then said "Is Lena the nice one you told me about?" she looked over to Kelsey and smiled sweetly waiting for and answer.

Lena put the stuff away in the room. She had candy, a few toys and magazines for the teens. Quietly she took the short way back to the cafeteria. It hadn’t taken her as long as she thought it would so she decided to go on in and get a coffee. Anymore she seemed to live off the stuff and it was nothing for her to have eight to ten coffees in a single day.

Stella nodded. “Alright then, Lena should be coming soon. Lena is the nicest person that works here. We got to be careful though. It’s hard to tell what the bad people would do to her if they found out what all she does for us.” After finishing the last part Crystal started to show through. “They’d hurt Lena for sure. Maybe even start experimenting on her or worse. I’ll never let that happen though I'll get them first.” There was malice in her voice as she spoke. Just thinking about the things they had done to her and what they could do made her blood run hot. After a moment Stella seemed to be back to normal as her eyes settled back onto her friend Kelsey.

" yea lena and cassie are the nicest nurses here." she said.

Alice smiled and then said "We can't let that happen to her" she looked around the room and said "Is she here?" she turned back to Kelsey and Stella. She had noticed how Stella's voice had change but she let it go knowing that it could just be experiment gone wrong.

" I don't thnk she is in here yet." kelsey said.

"Layla. I like it. I'm Jayden, and I'm new here more or less." He pushed his tray away from him and sat back in his seat. He was done eating or playing with his food. When he heard that the girl was outside before, he was surprised. How was it possible even if one of the doctors did it? The short amount of time he'd been here, he noticed that woman with the red hair kept patrol and checked every room. "I can't wait to find out."
