Theodora sat at the café quietly looking at the menu. Absentmindedly she patted the full bag of books she'd managed to gather from the book store nearby. She was glad her friend had managed to convince her she needed to take a much needed break from her part time job. The witch was also her room mate, and had to deal with Theodora when she was stressed out by something. "So what do you think I should get?" Indecision ran trough the brunette as she locked her gray eyes onto the menu once again.

Her jeans clad legs were crossed as she sat under the sun-blocking umbrella. It was just the beginning of summer. Everything smelled fresh and wonderful. The scents of delicious desserts and other foods wafted outside from the main restaurant. It was old fashioned and quaint, exactly what Theodora liked about it. She tugged at her purple shirt quietly as she furrowed her brow in thought, puzzling out this most important of decisions.

He was sitting with his good friend, trying to find out where their next meal would come from when he spotted them. Startling blue eyes twinkled with mischief when he noticed them. The two young woman appeared to be enjoying themselves after a shopping trip, what Kane liked though was the fact that they hadn't
bought any clothes. He nudged his friend and pointed discreetly at the two. Kane then proceeded to shift in his seat so his dark red hair caught the light and shone. Then he stretched, his plain blue t-shirt shifting with him. The man was glad he'd worn something to bring out his eye color that day. It had been difficult to say the least to get any attention.

(Does this give you enough to work with? And yeah, this is going to be fun!)

The striking blue eyes of the witch left the menu and turned to her friend's face. "Oh come now Theodora." the girl -Ezekiel- practically begged. Ezekiel always knew what she was getting, a burger and a side of salad and a coke. It was Ezekiels' normal meal. Running her and through her waist length black hair, she was equally glad that she convinced her human friend to get out and have a vacation with her.

Black jean clad legs mimicked her friend without really realizing it, having been with the girl so long, that they did things in unison without either realizing that they did. Ezekiel pulled down her halter top in the back, the top not so much whore-ish as it was just comfortable for the dark girl. Ezekiel, much like Theodora, enjoyed the restaurant mainly because of how warm, comforting the atmosphere was and how welcoming they were.

~

Getting nudged, Collin blinked at his friend's pointing. Just as looked over at the two -assumability- humans. Rolling his eyes, he simply sighed at his best friends antics. He wasnt sure weather to tell him 'forget about it' or say 'go for it', because he showed little interest in the humans. But - as always - he'd get dragged along with Kane.

With a small sigh of frustration Theodora plopped the curlicue decorate menu onto the table. It was open to the pasta page, even if the young woman didn't feel like eating pasta. Catching the edge of a page with a finger she flipped it to the sandwich section and perused it seriously. Nodding to herself she grinned as she closed the menu with finality. "It'll be a caesar wrap for me, with a baked potato. I suppose you'll be getting your usual Ezekiel?" The predictability of her friend was astounding.

Without fail, there were quite a few things Theodora knew her friend would choose. Burgers and pop, and never anything else. The young woman shifted in her seat, trying to catch sight of a waiter. Usually there were a few wandering around the tables. The place did have amazing service after all.

A waitress walked over with a smile plastered on her face. She asked what he wanted and with a twinkle in his eyes the young man told her to send two root beer floats to the young women. Apparently they were just getting ready to order their food, it would be a nice surprise for them to receive drinks before anything else. With a content sigh Kane leaned back into his chair with his arms behind his head. "Well Collin, perhaps we've found our company for the day." It never paid to have dinner with the same women all the time, they weakened or became suspicious. It wouln't o for anyone to figure out vampires were on the loose in the city.

Chuckling, Ezekiel should have known that Theodora would go for some form of a sandwich. But -alas- it was a wrap. Tilting her head, she had an internal debate on weather or not a wrap was considered a sandwich or not. Tapping her chin, she barely heard her friend tell her that it was her turn to order. "Oh!" she said, blinking and looking at the salads.

"I shall have... a Cheeseburger with everything on it... and a side order ooooof... potato soup and a medium Cola!" she said, that suddenly catching her eye and she grinned. "Thank you so much." she told, smiling. She turned that brilliant, lovely smile to Theodora.

~

Collin sighed. "Maybe we should leave them alone?" he said, giving his friend almost a pleading look. Collin was the most paranoid one about getting caught and other things that his imagination shouldnt get carry away on. Although it was a nice gesture for his life-long, and he did mean life-long, best friend to order them drinks, he was just unsure if they should start up the routine again.

Before Theodora could respond to her friend's predictability a waitress came to their table bearing two rootbeer floats. Immediately the young woman asked why she was bringing them the drinks. The waitress simply pointed at two stunningly handsome young men and left. Turning to Ezekiel, Theodora started crumpling up a napkin. "What do you think Ezekiel, should we go talk with them? They are quite good looking and seem nice..." She eyed the black haired woman , knowing quite well that she was a very good judge of character. Having a witch for a friend sure did bring you a certain sense of security.

The young looking man eyed the two women and their reactions to his opening gift. He dismissed his friend's worries with a wave of his hand. "Collin where did your sense of adventure go? What's the point of living like we do if we can't have fun from time to time?" Kane grinned genially when he noticed the brunette staring at them. He wanted to win over the raven haired one, she was more to his taste. If he had to go trough the brunette tough, he would do so. "I like the one with the long black hair, what do you think of the brunette Collin?"

Ezekiel actually expected a comment about her predictability when rootbeer floats came over and she looked at them like they were aliens for the first couple of seconds. Theodora asked the question that was on her mind, but only Teodora looked at them at the moment. The witch was startled out of her thoughts when her best friend asked the question that made her blink and lean over, glancing at the men. She smiled and waved back, leaning toward her friend. "I dont know... do you think we should?" she asked, blushing lightly as she asked. Ezekiel had never been one for men, she sort of ignored them at times. Observing them quite well and for a little bit, she shrugged at her friend. "They seem nice..." she said hesitantly. Ezekiel was always sort of a paranoid person, after all. Her family did live through the Salem Witch Trials after all. But that was so long ago, the paranoia should have wore off but it never did.

Collin made a slight face then sighed, hating to admit that his friend had a point. What was the point in living like they were if they didnt have fun from time to time. "Alright." he grumbled lightly, noting the fact that not only the brunet was staring at them, but so was the raven haired one. The girl had this dark aura to her, and was stunningly lovely but the brunet was more his taste and more to his fancy. To his absolute joy and happiness, his friend began eying the raven haired one. And he couldnt be happier at that moment in time, and immediately answered his friends question. "I like her." he said, flirtatiously waving at her.

A pink blush crept up Theodora's cheeks when one of the men waved at her with flirtation obviously on his mind. She supposed it would be fun to jump out of their comfort zone for once, and be so much more outgoing then they usually were. "I say we go for it!" A certain nervousness and excitement crept into Theodora's voice as she stood up, waving the waitress away. Grasping the root beer in her hand she walked over to the men with a smile, not waiting for Ezekiel because she knew if she did they would never get there.

She sat down in front of the man who had wave at her, and ignored the red head. She had a thing against dating red-heads for some reason, an earlier incident that hadn't left happy memories. "Hi, thanks for the drinks," said Theodora as she started eating some of the ice cream with a spoon. What was she thinking, already letting her mind wander to dating? There was just something dangerously attractive about them that was incredibly hard to resist.

Kane laughed at Collin's antics. "A so who's the eager one now mmm?" He wiggled and eyebrow at his friend with a grin. He was glad that Collin seemed more then willing to participate in this plan of his. Sometimes he had to drag him along. It was really rare for the two of them to both want to get to know people better. The red-head supposed it might have to do with the brunette, who had forgotten her books on her way to their table.

He watched with a raised eyebrow as she set about ignoring him in favor of Collin. "Actually it was my idea, but that's perfectly alright I'll just talk with your friend when she gets here." Better to leave his best friend with the one he liked, rather then being selfish and enthralling them both to himself. Already Kane could feel himself trying to gain the other woman's attention with a sly smile in her direction.

Ezekiel laughed lightly at the color that rose in her friends cheeks at the man's flirting. She truly had no idea of Theodora truly wanted to go for it or if she as just saying that to get Ezekiel to get up and go over there. Either way - the witch had to admit that she was really nervous. "I say we go for it!" Ezekiel couldnt keep her shock back, she blinked at her friend and leaned in. "Are you serious?" she asked but her friend answered that when she got up and went over, introducing herself.

Needless to say - the dark witch was shocked; her Theodora getting up and making the first move? Wow! Snapping back to reality, Ezekiel got up herself, collected the books Theodora forgot and sat down next to her friend, which was next to the red-head as well. Knowing Theodora had a thing against them, Ezekiel let her eyes meet his before smiling and eating her ice cream, his sly smile not going unnoticed.

"So who's the eager one now mmm?" "Oh shut up Kain." he told, giving him a grin, though he had rolled his eyes at his friends antics. He couldnt help but stare at the girl as she made her way over, and blazingly ignored his friend, though he found that funny. But he had to give credit where credit was due. "It may have been his idea... but I paid for them." he said, giving his friend a nice little smile.

"My names Collin, what's your name?" he asked, holding his hand out only to take her hand and kiss the skin of her knuckles gently, something that never really left him from his long, long life. Releasing her hand, he gave her a nice little smile, clearly flirting with the little lady. He couldnt help it - there was something that attracted him to her and he was going to act upon it, despite what his brain said.

(What does Collin look like?)

Eyes full of mirth the young woman regarded the red head. She nodded silently in his direction before turning again to Collin. Theodora was glad that Ezekiel had followed her lead, though she had expected that. Putting down her spoon, the young woman regarded Collin with a smile. "My name's Theodora. So what brings you here?" She kept thinking something was off. What guy his age greeted a young woman like he had anymore? Theodora had to admit, she had liked it.

Her foot nudged the bag of books, and her smile widened even more. "Do you read at all?" She felt like she was going to be pestering him with all her questions. Sometimes her curiosity had driven people away. A well, it was why she liked having a witch as a friend. It meant she could ask as many questions as she wanted without feeling shy about doing so.

Laughter came forth from the vampire, o yes she was going to be a challenge! He smiled as he saw the way his friend seemed to be intriguing the girl already. Now if only he could do so well with his pick. Kaine leaned over to wink at the dark haired woman. "What do you say we leave these two here, and go catch a movie? My treat." He was older then Collin, but more immersed in the ways of the current times. He could also recognize some of the smells coming off the clothing of the woman. Herbs and sulfur, brine and woodsmoke, she was a witch and avery pretty one at that. "My name's Kain by the way." said the young looking red-head to forestall any questions in that direction.

((Collin Or what I would think he'd look like. My bases for Eze))

"We came here out of sheer boredom! I'm Collin," Collin informed, laughing lightly. He sipped his own drink, taking nibbles here and there of his food, not entirely hungry. He was more focused on the girl that he was with at the moment.

"Of course!" he told almost too quickly. He didnt want her to think he was a total nerd so he cleared his throat and mumbled while blushing a tiny bit. Collin shared a trait with Theodora that neither of them knew about just yet - which was the questioning aspect. Blushing a bit more, he hoped she still liked him and didnt think he was totally weird.

Ezekiel looked over at him and gave him a smile. "Sure." she agreed rather easily. She wasnt afraid of being alone with him since she was -after all- a witch and could handle herself in a tight spot. But alas - the vampire knew that one already but she had no idea that he was a vampire, but she'd probably figure it out in a little bit. "My names Ezekiel." she introduced, giving him another smile.

(lol Colin is adorable!)

Theodora looked at the young man, surprised. She hadn't even realized he was a red-head. She shrugged, and smiled. Reaching down she pulled up her book laden bag and plopped it down on the table. "What kind do you like? You can have a look at my latest additions to my ever growing collection." Books were one of the few things she could go on for hours about without feeling the least bit shy. Usually she read fantasy novels, particularly the ones that dealt with urban fantasy. The young woman hadn't even noticed the enthralling man's blush until after her eyes lifted from her books. Theodora felt her own cheeks redden, and bit her lower lip as she usually did when nervousness filled her.

Kain plastered a few ten dollar bills onto the table as he stood. With a yawn he stretched and looked at the sky. The sun was really going down well and quick. An inviting smile flitted across his face as he gazed down at the dark haired young woman. He extended a hand to help her up. "Tell me, what is it you would like to see beautiful Ezekiel?" His eyes were sparkling with mischief as Kain waited to see how the young woman would react.

(LOL thank you!)

Colin looked at the bag like it contained his own little form of heaven. There were a ton of books in there! Smiling like a crazy person, he looked through the books and even fawned over her choices in them a couple of times. Smiling at her, he thought it was a cute - a little book date between them. Colin enjoyed fantasy novels, and he almost always read them. Looking up at her, he saw that her cheeks were reddened and he blushed a bit more himself, giving her a smile.

She took his hand and stood, smiling at him. "You pick. Because I really have no idea what's playing." she admitted, chuckling. Though she had to admit, the 'beautiful' comment was absolutely adorable and she loved it though she'd never admit it out loud.

(A vampire who reads fantasy, what happens if she had Twilight in there?)

Not able to stop herself, Theodora burst out laughing. "We're horrible! I never thought I'd meet anyone as prone to blushing as me. But.. gosh you're even worse!" She smiled at him and forced herself to quiet down. Spotting one of her purchases she frowned. It was Twilight by some Meyer person. Theodora wasn't sure if she would like it or not. The vampires sparkled! That was just strange, then again the author was said to have dreamed the scene that spawned the whole series. Picking it up, she gave it to Collin. "Have you ever read this?"

After a few moments of thought Kain grinned. "Let's go see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I hear it's pretty good." He wanted to see how Ezekiel would react to his suggestion. Probably decide to watch something else, which didn't bother him in the least. They could cozzy up somewhere nice and dark out of sight and.. Rollin his eyes Kain patted his stomach and smiled sheepishly at the blue eyed woman. He had eaten food, but not feed that night as yet. Only one of his hungers was satisfied.

( I think he'd burn it XD ) ((OMG you put it in there X"DD ))

Collin laughed, trying to hide his face. Gosh - there went his 'bad boy' exterior, right out the window and into the fading sun. "I know - its horrible!" he agreed, laughing as he put his face in his hand to try and stop the blushing and the laughing that was just coming out in stride. Collin hadnt seen the Twilight book in there but if he did - he probably would have dropped it into the deep fryer, and happily watched it burn. Collin blinked as he was handed the book and dang near stood up and made a football throw but he contained himself. "Please tell me you dont believe this crap." he said, half-serious as he looked at her. If she did - that made his job just a bit harder.

Ezekiel nodded, liking the idea. She didnt mind the Harry Potter series, though she laughed at the slight idea that there was dark magic in the series. She commented to Theodora once that they'd be screwed if her family was in there and the girls spent the rest of the movie replacing random characters with her and Theodora which made it that much better. Smiling at the memory, she rose her eyebrow at the growling in his stomach. "Hungry?" she asked, smiling at him.

Lifting an eyebrow, Theodora regarded him mockingly. "Sparkling vampires? Are you kidding! No, I prefer the Charmed version of things. Though I doubt you've watched the series about the three witches who protect the world from certain destruction on a weekly basis." Ezekiel laughed a little at Theodora for liking it. A well, it wasn't her fault she wanted to have magic and be able to go on extraordinary adventures. She supposed having a witch for a friend was the closest she could get.

Emotions falling, the young woman finished her ice cream and pop mixture slowly. She started slurping up the last its of the drink with the straw on purpose. Theodora was trying to cheer herself up, with little success. It was fun hanging out with Collin, but... He was just so ordinary, though very nice, and Theodora wanted someone more amazing. Her friend always told her to stop with her silly romantic ideas, but the young woman knew she never would.

As they kept walking towards the movie theater Kain smirked a little. "O yes, for your blood." He wondered if she would think he was joking, or if Ezekiel would believe him. Chances were high that she wouldn't anyway. Hiding the truth in plain sight was what many of his race liked doing. Kain tended to joke around about what he was, leading people to believe he was just a vampire obsessed young man. True enough, when you were one of the legendary beings of the night.

"The Charmed version? Well that's at least a little better than sparkling ones, but still a bit far from the truth." he said, chuckling and winking at her. Collin wasn't stupid enough to pour out that he was a creature from the darkness but he couldn't help the small hints he dropped here and there about what he was. Hanging out with a lady like Theodora was a nice change in pace from the normal crowd that Kain dragged him to such as other stupid vampires, witches, and other mystics like that.

Hearing the slurping, he looked up and frowned a bit. Was she feeling alright? Was she upset? Did she find him absolutely boring? He frowned to himself for jumping to conclusions so drastically without really thinking of it but he couldn't help it. It was how Collin was.

Ezekiel giggled softly at the crack about her blood. To test to see if he was a real vampire or just a boy that was obsessed with them, she stopped and tilted her neck, pulling her hair out of the way. "Oh by all means then," she told, chuckling lightly. Being a witch, she was very familiar with the antics of Vampires but she didn't actively hang out around them. She didn't want to bring any extra trouble to Theodora.

After squinting a little at her drink for a little while, Theodora lifted her head. She'd completely ignored his answer, and slipped a little lower into melancholy. It happened sometimes, when her imaginary world crashed with reality. Now the frown upon his face made Theo afraid that she'd done something wrong, or offended him somehow. "I didn't mean to ignore you Collin. Just thinking to myself that my life is really too normal, and boring." The only excitement she ever got was hanging out with Ezekiel. Even then, she had the feeling her friend went out of her way to keep everything magical away from Theo.

Kane grinned. So she was testing him. Without further ado, the red head guided her into a little nook. They were hidden from sight by stone walls, and buildings towering high above them. The vampire licked his lips and grinned as he bent his head to nibble a little at her neck. Lifting his head for a moment, he regarded her seriously. "You gave me permission, so don't go yelling to the council about broken rules." Then he bit her neck, and the sweet essence of life filled his mouth. Closing his eyes, Kane savored each different flavor, and each moment. So this was what a witch's blood tasted like, not quite like that of a regular human but .. It seemed like exactly the right taste, made especially for Kane.

Collin blinked, then realized he'd done nothing wrong except for be ignored. That was all that had happened but she seemed a little... depressed, a little sad. Her words made him blink again. "But you have such an interesting friend, doesn't that make life a little less boring?" he asked, almost slipping up and calling her a witch by accident. Collin wondered if he should bear his fangs and ask her if that, too, would be boring but that was moving too quickly and he didn't want that. He enjoyed taking his time.

Ezekiel allowed him to lead her away, to a hidden spot, watching him practically itch out of his clothes at the chance for a witch. Her breath hitched as he nibbled at her neck before regarding her seriously. "Oh I'm not the type to cry 'wolf'." she assured. Then he dug his fangs into her neck and her eyes widened. It didn't hurt, much to her surprise, but it felt... weirdly good to a point. Her arms reached up and around him, clinging to him. She didnt realize the blush that came across her face and that she was short of breath suddenly. Ezekiel -needless to say- was enjoying the moment intensely.

Theodora brushed a lock of brown hair from her face as her brow furrowed in thought. The air cooled significantly, signaling that night was fast approaching. A small shiver ran trough the young woman due to the drop in temperature. Placing a palm upon the table she then lifted her grey eyes to study Collin. "She makes sure nothing interesting ever happens when I'm around. It's like she thinks I can't deal with it, and sometimes... Sometimes I wish I was brave enough to tell her that I can." Shrugging she pushed her empty glass aside. Then it was time to begin to carefully tuck away each book. Each one was a future friend, to be saved and treasured until they were needed. "It's strange that I can tell you." A small smile tugged up her cotton candy colored lips.

As the witch's arms came around him, the vampire realized what exactly he was doing. It was as if all his years of existence had been whipped away with a simple taste of her blood. Kane groaned as he pulled away from her neck gently, though before doing so he licked up every last trace of her blood. Not a drop, not one, would ever be wasted. Also, his saliva would help heal the wound. The red head regarded Ezekiel with obvious surprise. The rustling of clothing could be heard as Kane placed a supportive arm around Ezekiel while leaving the other free. "I can honestly say that such a reaction from me... Well that hasn't happened in quite a while, since I was first turned. Will you be alright?" Concern filled his voice and demeanor as Kane searched for a place where Ezekiel could sit. It was so strange to hold another in this way, so very disturbing. Kane wanted the feelings to end as his feet hit the pavement.

Collin watched her closely, attempting to understand things from her point of view. As the air chilled and the moon rose, Collin knew his time with the lady was running out, Kane would be here soon to drag him away. After all - the other should have had quite enough of excitement with the witch. As Theodora began explaining why she felt the way she felt, Collin had a surge of appreciation toward the witch but he couldn't tell why. He then chuckled, smiling at her. "I'm easy to talk to. But you've got to understand: sometimes boring - its not so bad. If things get a little too exciting - you might wish and wish that you had a boring life. And sometimes, interesting things are quite dangerous." he told, giving her a grin without realizing his teeth were in part view. "I shall take my leave - it was nice meeting you." he told, standing.

His groan shattered the world around her and she blinked, feeling him pull away from her. Though she didn't want it, she allowed it to happen as Ezekiel pieced her world back together quickly, professionally. Her brain felt so much like what would happen when she was attacked by another witches power: fuzzy, foggy, many thoughts blurring into one. Though he was speaking - it seemed distant and warped as she made everything come back into focus, become clear so she could think once more and resist the urge to ask him to do it again. No - I dont want that. she told herself just to make the thoughts stop. "I'm fine." she assured finally, surprising herself with how she held herself and the fact that she didn't stutter. Ezekiel turned her blue eyes to him and gave him a soft smile, brushing her hair back behind her.

Theodora felt herself break into a large smile at his words. Disappointment flowed trough her though at the mention of his leaving. It mattered to her that she might not speak with Colling again. Without thinking she stood as he did. Her grey eyes roved over his face, noting his teeth with an absentminded kind of way. Later she would remember, but for now she was far to absorbed in the fact that Collin would leave. "It's been such a wonderful time, that now I'm wondering if we might be able to do this again sometime." As she spoke Theodora's cheeks were a bright red. This behavior was very unusual, though for someone reason Collin's presence emboldened the young woman.

For his part, Kane was smiling down with amusement at Ezekiel. Though in fact the vampire was far from amused. His mind was reeling. Every thought jumbled together in a very disturbing way. And foremost of them all was the fact that it had been an hour or more, and that they needed to return to their friends. That would mean being separated. Such a realization nearly made Kane decide to capture Ezekiel the and there to bring her back to his apartment. Instead he tilted his head to the side and spoke with amusement in his voice. "We should be getting back to our friends then. Knowing Collin, he'll be wanting to bolt by now."

Collin blinked in surprise as she stood with him. He wondered -briefly- if she had noticed what he didn't want her too with his absent minded grin. But his thoughts changed quickly when he saw her disappointment but that just led to him wondering just why she was disappointed. Collin then chuckled at her words then nodded. "I would love to do this again. You're quite an interesting woman," he admitted, a color sweeping across his cheeks.

Ezekiel almost didn't want to leave the vampire, almost asking him to take her with him to wherever he was going. Theodora popped in her mind and the name whispered through the dark crevices that was her brain and that stopped her. Despite the instant attachment to the man - she also had a very, very deep attachment to the human she had protected for so long. So the fact that he thought they should go back to their friends wasn't a shock, Ezekiel saw it coming. "Alright. I dont doubt it - Theodora will probably be wanting the same." she said, smiling lightly.

((I, personally, think that Eze and Kain are going to have one of those addiction/love things going on between them before the other two even admit their feelings X"D ))

((The fact is, they already do!))

After e few moments the young woman found her tongue again. No one had ever found her all that interesting before. The brunette was just the girl next door, and Eze was the one who caught everyone's attention with that mysterious aura of hers. It was so surprising that Collin actually wanted to even talk to her again that Theodora nearly froze on the spot. "Wonderful! Then I suppose I should give you this," as she spoke Theodora wrote down her phone number in a shaky hand. The writing was lopsided and not at all pretty, caused by the nervousness of the person who wrote it. With a little smile of her own, she handed the number over and hoped that Collin would give her his too.

Laughing aloud at her words, Kane began guiding her back towards their friends with a possessive hand upon her waist. Licking his lips for a moment, he remembered the taste of Ezekiel's blood and had to resist the urge to taste it again. The vampire knew that if he did, the woman would probably die. "I want to see you again Ezekiel, would you let me? Admittedly, it would be a danger to you my witchy friend." The little fact of thinking of her as his made Kane want to lock her away all over again. Shaking the thoughts away the blue eyed man sighed as they approached the café. This time was ending too soon. Far too soon for Kane's liking.
