There's some pop songs I like. but mostly I like rock. Old country is ok, but new country is boring.

I mean REAL punk music, not things that kids now a days think is "punk". Sorry but Green day is and never will be "punk". XD

Out of the choices given I tend to lean more towards rock/pop based music. I do enjoy old country every now and then. I would have to agree and say that new country just is not the same as classic country.

Rock and pop intertwine with each other so some of the "rock" music that I listen to can also be considered "pop". I think it's funny when country is mixed with rock. Most of the time it just sounds like the band was trying too hard for a different style. For example, Seether with their "Country Song", even though I'd consider it more pop than country.

Oh yeah, sometimes when someone tells me what they consider is a punk band, I just laugh because it's not even close to punk -- it might be good music, but it's not punk!

Yeah, most of the time when someone mentions "punk" I half way expect them to mention a band like AFI, Green Day, Taking Back Sunday, +44, or something else that is nowhere near punk. Then I normally mention someone like Defiance Ohio or This Bike is a Pike Bomb and people are like "That's not punk" or they tell me they never heard of them.

I like a variety of genres I don't think any of them is better than the other. To me good music just sounds good and is catchy in one way or other. I like pop, rock, country not so much, and I also like R&B, classical or modern takes on classical tunes, jazz...

And I like to listen to music in English or Chinese, mostly.

I like the old school punk bands and the new stuff, too -- Ramones were awesome, but I like the Sex Pistols and the Clash. I also like old Goth Rock like Flesh for Lulu and Tones On Tail.

But I love the Hives the best -- their guitar riffs are mind-blowing...

OK, so please educate me here, what is the difference between old and new country? I like the Dixie Chicks, James Taylor (Folk?) and a little Johnnie Cash and Willie Nelson. I can't stand Shaniah Twain. So where does that leave me as far as country music goes????

I actually listen to every genre in existance except hard rap. There's lots I love from every genre so I don't have a crazy favorite....

I think the ones I have the most respect for though are the symphonic metal singers like Kamelot and Altaria though. They're so amazing and they get so little credit.

Out of those 3, rock most definitely.

I also like various forms of metal (symphonic ftw), punk, folk stuff.
The different forms of techno, house etc, drum and bass, a little dubstep here and there.
Both ost's and remixes of video game music and even orchestrated music sometimes.

I'll generally listen to anything except for rap. I can't stand rap.

Country and rock are intertwined way too much these days to actually tell them apart outside content. Unless it's Alt. Country.

I like some of all three, but I'm mostly in the rock category of this. (and somebody tried to say green day was punk?!?) lately I've been on a bit of an 80's rock binge (you know, styx, queen, twisted sister, kiss, all that stuff). and as far as country goes, i prefer what would be called 'story songs' (its a song that tells a story, like big john, the battle of new orleans, ballad of the alamo, or even devil went down to georgia)

I'd have to say why not all three? I can't help but like almost all music. The kinds i don't like tend to be individual songs and very rarely individual bands.

I really love pop music XD
I'm not really into rock but sometimes I'll hear cars playing certain songs and I really like them!!
Except I don't know what the names of the songs are XD
There's some good country songs but I'm not really up to date or keep up with it><

Rocking it all the way!

You can get so many different forms of it, from screamo, to classic, to heavy, to punk, to...something I CBA to think off! I mean, there's a rock band (Apocalyptica) that makes EPIC rock using Double Bass, Cellos and Drums! That takes some major skills.
And while you do get the odd love rock song, a lot of rock music has some deep meanings if you just LISTEN to the lyrics. I can quite happily spend a day just listening to Rock Music and nothing else, as sad as that may seem.

Pop...a lot of it feels cheesy in some ways and some of the bands/artists I just CANNOT stand at all. It doesn't help that I love hearing music made with actual instruments and isn't all computer generated music, if you get what I mean. Some of it isn't bad and some do use actual instruments on their songs, but overall I am NOT a fan of pop.

Country isn't too bad. Don't listen to it much to be honest, but gimme Johnny Cash and I won't complain...did the best version of 'Hurt' that will ever be heard in my opinion. Listen to it and watch the video for it, you'll know why, especially since it wasn't long after making this that he died.

So yeah, that's my opinion on those 3 genres.
