Welcome to the competition of the century! We are the Crusix, a highly advanced and powerful civilization. In order to ensure that the Empire stays strong, each new Emperor is selected through a challenging tournament. The previous Emperor, Thaeos, has just passed away, bringing about the next Emperor’s Tournament. The Crusix do not discriminate with who may be the Emperor, so the challenges are open to all who live in the Empire. Young and old; rich and poor; no matter what your standing, once you are in the tournament you are on the same playing field.

The tournament is comprised of a series of challenges that will test all of the abilities of a person. Some will be physical; others mental. A challenger must be prepared for anything at any time.

The Crusix civilization is split into two main factions. The Telmidire are spiritualists, shunning technology away to bring them closer to the elements. They are said to wield magical energies that are beyond the explanation of science. The Malmidire are engineers, embracing super advanced technology and leading to many of them to become part-machine themselves.

The two factions hold an uneasy peace, each holding one half of the high council leads to many tie votes, to be determined by the Emperor. This raises the stakes of the games; the next ruler will lead to one faction having control of the government for as long as he or she lives.

This is the background; a general rule on which to guide the creation of your character. Please make him or her original and interesting

No Godmodding; I will be in charge and will shape much of the story.

Try not to be too over the top. The more characters fit into a story the more interesting the story will be.

I will almost never tell you no to something, but if you go against something in the story (i.e. struggling through a test and giving yourself a high ranking or going against your bio and outperforming what your character should be able to do.) I will probably scold you in ooc and mock you in character.

Don’t advance the story without me. I have a general idea of what I want the tests to be. If you have an idea feel free to pm me and I’ll work it in however I can. It gets hard to go anywhere when everyone starts interjecting their own, overlapping ideas into a rp.

Please post on a semi-regular basis. I want to keep this moving and that’s hard when one person refuses to post for a week.

General outline for a character:
Name:
Age:
Profession: - could be student if the character is young enough.
Origin: i.e. childhood story
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Description: Either a detailed text description or a picture; just to give us an idea.
And anything else you feel is important, of course.

Please elaborate on a character quite a bit. None of that: “his past is a mystery” please. The more in-depth you go the more interested we’ll be and we’ll have some idea on how to treat them.

When posting more = better. One liners bog down the story and make it hard for other people to take up the slack. Believe it or not, people are interested in what you have to say. At least make it seem like you’re trying. Also, try to be somewhat grammatically correct. I understand that different people have different skill levels of writing. I’m not asking you for publishable work, but spellchecking a post before putting it into the story is always nice.

Finally: just post profiles for now. I’ll start the story when we’ve got a few people and we’ll get rolling from there. Oh yeah, and just follow all the menewsha rules too, alright?

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to pm me. Nothing makes me feel more special than getting that little message that tells me that someone loves me . . . or is yelling at me.

Name: Lucas Heart

Age: 31

Profession: Mechanic: after graduating from basic school Lucas started helping out his dad in the family shop. He tinkers with stuff all the time, resulting in some interesting inventions. He and his dad are officially only licensed to work on out of body mechanics, but sometimes they’ll do a little implant or extremity repair to help pay the bills.

Origin: Born and raised in the capital city, Hephasia, to a middle class family. His mother died early on in his life to a workshop accident. Since then his dad has done all he could to put Lucas through as much school as possible. Unfortunately the funds ran out, and as the business finally began to grow Lucas was called in to help.

Strengths: Lucas is great with his hands and anything mechanical. He lacks some of the knowledge of the finer pieces of technology but can find his way around just about any piece of junk given enough time. Working in the shop has put him in pretty good shape, nothing spectacular, but better than average, and given him the drive to work hard for what he wants.

Weaknesses: Lucas never got a higher education, and although he’s gifted with good senses and a solid head on his shoulders, lacks some of the knowledge that can only be gained through the Empire’s universities. He also has a crazy weakness for lime sherbert.

Description: Lucas is 5’10” and a slim build. He has very dusty blond hair and blueish-green eyes. He’s usually wearing a loose shirt and jeans with a few oil stains on them.

Other information: Lucas is entering the tournament to get money for his family for life and to get new ideas for inventions. He brings with him to the tournament a healthy selection of his works and hopes it’ll be enough tricks up his sleeves to get him pretty far. He has few augmentations himself, not having the money to afford any serious implants or replacements for his human parts.
