So yeah I'm some new meat for you guys to play with!

I recently came from gaia online but well that place is boring and samey so I want to try something new like here.

About me:

My name is Vanessa but PLEASE call me Nessa or Xensas. I live in England and I'm 18 which means I can drink legally :O so if you get some strange posts from me you know why hehe.

My interests are cooking, baking and genetics...a pretty bizarre mix but that is me =)

Oh and I'm doing a Biochemistry degree in October at York university!

Anything more you want to know then please ask!

*points as the music starts* NEWBIE NESSA WANTS TO BATTLE!

Sorry, I'm done, I swear! :D Welcome to Mene! I'm a Gaia regular as well, but I really love the community here on Mene, as well as a sincere lack of drama!

You like to bake, huh? We have a thread running about the wonders of cupcakes over in General Discussion (my favorite forum)! You should go check it out c:

Genetics as a hobby? Cool! What in particular, or how?

Gaia may have a lot of drama but none of it is actually good drama if you get what I mean haha =/

Well I generally find myself questioning (and then researching) how certain genes work. I also did a open university course on human genetics.

Hello and welcome to Menewsha, Xensas!

I like cooking too, but I'm no good at baking. They somehow always end up too dry. xD

I'm personally terrible at Biology. I'm more a Math and Art person than Sciences.

Hello ^_^

That seems really common. My friend Micheal is a GENIUS at maths, sailed through Oxford interviews ect ect. His mind just can't do chemistry and even more so Biology. People seem to think that by being good at Biology and chemistry you MUST be equally as good at maths which isn't the case for most. Does apply for physics though obviously haha.

Maybe Physics is the reason people assume the connection? :P Welcome to Mene I hope you like the atmosphere here.

Maybe? I know Physics was my best subject in Sciences, followed by Chemistry. xD
I actually find Chemistry okay because it's a bit of knowledge of common sense, simple Math and the Table.

While I understand Biology, I just can't for the life of me remember the names of things. Dropped it for Accounting in the next year.

Yes. Biology at a-level is terrible, you don't actually have to understand anything so long as you can put the keywords in the correct order in the exams...

Hey, you! If you're embarrassed about your nudity, there's a few things you can do - Mene doesn't like to give clothes when you first join, because it makes some clothes be seen as "noobish," something they avoid. You both have enough money to purchase Ragged Shirt from The Costume Department, at only 30g, but at the rate you're both going, you'll have enough money for a full outfit in no time. :D

There are also multiple charities out there who specialize in helping newbies like you get on their feet. Check out the charity thread for more info on that!

Ah I see thanks! I've seen a dress for 1000 gold so I feel like I might as well just wait and save up for that rather than spending a 400 on clothes I don't want just to get that later.

On another note it wont be looked down upon because I have a photo in my sig will it?

Photos in sigs are perfectly normal here. You won't be "looked down upon" for it, don't worry. :D

In fact, there's a Post your photo thread stickied right on top of the General Discussion forums, if you're interested. ^^
