I like Firework best, but I have to admit that the Glee version of Teenage Dream is beyond awesome.

I just recently started getting into Katy Perry. There're a couple of songs that I really like

E.T. (but only when she's singing by herself. I don't like rap at all)
Firework It's a really good message and the music video is so unbelievably sweet!
Circle The Drain (I'm actually kinda surprised no one's mentioned this one yet. There's just something about it that really calls to me for some reason)

Katy Perry is a little hit and miss for me. I like her songs at first, then they become increasingly overplayed and I really start to dislike them. However, one song that I have managed to like consistently would be 'Last Friday Night'

This is just a little side note for those of you that are aware of Doctor Who and/or Torchwood but does anyone else think that the song Peacock was practically MADE for Captain Jack Harkness????????? A couple fo times I've been reading a fanfiction centered around him and on the music thing I've got set up Peacock's come up about 3 or 4 times while I've been reading about Jack. It's so unbelievably freaky!

I haven't really heard a lot of her songs, and the only one I've heard that I really like is that one with the fireworks in the video (I'm dunno what it's called).

The song's actually called 'Firework' and I LOVE the music video! It's so sweet and it's amazing what they managed to do with it.

I'm not a fan of Katy's voice, but I love her songs Firework and ET! I just think she needs to ... take some voice lessons and stop shouting everything. There is a fine line between belting and shouting. :/ She's definitely shouting.

I think I can see waht you mean about her voice but I don't think she's houting in her songs. To me some of it sounds a little strained sometimes but I've heard a lot worse from singers that have been around for longer so I think she's doing rather well considdering. Also it may just be the other kind of music that I listen to but compared with some songs taht I've heard she's definitely belting rather than shouting. I've heard shouting and screaming in songs and she isn't doing either as far as I can tell. It may just be the pitch of the song that's causing the effect of the shouting. I know that I've had that problem once or twice.

lol, I know what you mean. Kanye is really mean/weird/obnoxious at times. But overall the main reason why I like him is because he doesn't care about the world's opinion about him or his life. After his mom died he started acting even worse. But, have you ever heard the song 'All of The Lights' ?

No I haven't heard the song. I don't know why but I just don't like his voice. I prefer Perry's vocals on their own. It's why I'm not a big fan of Calafornia Girls either. I hate the male part in taht as well but that may just be because I can't stand rap in any shape or form and I just want to smack the guy for some reason.

Aww, that sucks it's a really good song. :( I love Hip-Hop/Rap. BUT only specific artists. I dislike the ones who talk about "Money, Cars, hoes," Ugh that makes me so mad because it's so annoying and generic. But, I do like rappers with a positive Message Like Lupe Fiasco. You've probably never heard of him, he's my favorite because he's not like everyone else. I respect your opinion and View on Hip-Hop, though. Do you like rock? :)

I think I've heard of him somewhere although I'm not quite sure. I agree with you about the rap though. The annoying ones really get under my skin.
Oh yeah! I love rock! All different kinds of rock although symphonic is my favourite not to mention when rock crosses into metal. I like a wide variety of music from metal(within temptation) to rock(Evanescence although they kinda cross over into metal I think) to country (occasionally depending on the artist like some Taylor Swift songs, Dolly Partin and a few others) to folk/traditional (groups like Celtic Woman) What can I say? My music taste is all over teh place. And Katy Perry obviously or I wouldn't be on this forum ;)

I've only heard Lupe Fiasco's 'Superstar', but I do really like that song.

I like Katy Perry's 'Last Friday Night' and 'E.T.'.

i don't know many songs by katy perry im kind of out of the loop with her but i do like fireworks,i kissed a girl, hot n' cold,last friday night. plus those are really the only songs i know.

I don't like Katy Perry very much at all but I do have to say I love E.T.

I'm not really very keen on her to be honest. I do really like ET though. Has to be the version with just her though.

I agree with Xensas! I hate the version with the guy singing. It just...ruins it for me. -grins- E.T. is great!

My favorites of Katy's are:
1. E.T. - I can't stop listening to it~! I just love it so much. It's just so hypnotic! I love the feeling it gives off. :)
2. Waking up in Vegas - I love this one too. It's so funny. XD It's like, 'You got me into this mess, and you're gonna get me out of it.' It's upbeat too.
3. Hot & Cold - Like Waking up in Vegas, I think it's hilarious. I learned how to sing it at one point. XD It's like the verbal version of smacking the sense into someone.
4. I kissed a girl - Pretty much the same reasons as E.T. I just like it a lot. I just like the feel of the song. I first heard it before I knew who Katy Perry was, and I still really liked it.
5. One of the Boys - I can relate to it. ^^ I really like the messages in it.

The only one that I don't really care for is 'California Girls'. >.> I mean, it was okay the first few times I heard it, but in my opinion it's overplayed. It got on my nerves after a while.

Amen to that CADFND. Calafornia Girls is definitely way down on my songs list (so long down that it's not even on there) It just never caught my attention.
