I don't know if there was another place to post this, but I didn't see it and I didn't see a thread about this game at all.......unless it is like 3 months old.
Well, I'm playing Awakening. And I have essentially screwed myself over.
I have maybe 3 potions (those Ogres made me eat potions).
And I can't beat the Mother. I have two of three towers (since my rogue can't unlock the chest). The stun and fire one (I wanted the healing). I also have the Architect's ability too.
But I'm having some problems.
I'm using my warrior from Origins, Velanna, Sigrun, and Justice.
So, anyone have any tips for me? I'm on casual.
Also, does Ser Pounce a Lot not work in this battle because I saved him until now for this purpose and I can't get him to work.
Edit: Heh. Forgot to mention......360 version

Are you on the PC or console version? (Also, Mothers - ugh!)
Unfortunately, the Ser Pounce a Lot glitch is a known one. He behaves notoriously glitchy in boss battles. It's been speculated that this may be because Anders isn't with him. Whatever the reason, chances are you won't be getting much help from him.

I'm on the 360 version.
I left Anders behind because of the epilogue I wanted...not of Vigil's Keep surviving, but one of not everyone dying .-.
Cause I like my companions. I don't want any of them to die. But since I can't finish the game.....it really doesn't matter.

Yikes - that does pose a problem! I'm a PC gamer, so now would be a good time to open the console and input a cheat, if it meant being able to continue the game or not... or download the patch that fixes Ser Pounce.
I don't know much about the 360, though. I'm guessing they didn't give you a console.
Where is your game saved, at the beginning of the battle? Is there no way you can turn back now?

It's saved before I walk up to her and the Architect, me, and her have a nice little chat before she decides to eat me.
But I don't think there is anywhere for me to go to get potions. That's the problem.
And I can't get the third tower T_T
It would help me a lot....it would heal me .-.

It'd be a pain in the butt, but are there any mobs nearby you could take on and try to level your rogue up? It sounds like you really need that tower. I think the chest is set at 60, which takes a pretty high mastery.
Other than that, I found this thread with players discussing their strategies on how they took her on. Hope it helps.. this is a tight spot!

I've killed everything.
Done ever quest except the blight orphans, Oghren's companion quest, and one other.
Which it's too late to do those.

I played the PC version last week and literally plowed through Mother like the whore she is but then again, my rogue was level 31 when I took her on and could slaughter most bosses with minimal assistance. I guess one of the only things you can do is backtrack all the way to the beginning of the dungeon and go buy some pots, unless for some reason it won't let you leave. For skills, always, always, ALWAYS invest in herbalism and lockpicking. They'll save your ass in a tight spot.
Also, I wouldn't have dreamed of leaving Anders out. Cleansing Aura = <3
