Ana's characters

Priscella "Pluto" Reaym
Stats: 17, Half Saudi Arabian and half American (Norwegian) nationality, mid-tan skin with bleached hair
About: Pluto was raised in a little tribal desert village, very poor, but has always been a wee bit of a klepto. Because of the poor conditions of the area she grew up in, many people around her turned to crime, and she is no exception, lusting after and seeking out ever larger and more beautiful treasures. Her daggers are some of these said treasures in themselves- they're traditional wormblades, legendary because they are supposedly made for sliding under the scales of a dragon's belly. That particular theft raised the heat level for her in Europe, and she now lives in the US, thieving under the radar, moving from city to city when she needs to.
She's sarcastic, has a cheerful, tormenting sort of anger, and has a bit of a napoleon complex, being only 5'0"! But she's caring and compassionate, and her stubbornness, although it's one of her greatest flaws, is also one of her best traits.

name: Ash Sunkynn
Age: Really really old...
Race: Pheonix- when he is killed or dies from a human's life span, he burns and turns to ash, out of which an egg appears. It is highly ornate, large, and slowly grows throughout the years. When he reaches his teens in appearance he hatches, restored once again. If the egg is threatened he can awaken earlier as a child.

Pluto cradled the egg in her hands, taking in every ornate detail with wonder. She'd never seen anything so beautiful - it was by far the pinnacle of her collection, and the only thing which made it more appealing than its value was the risk she'd gone through to obtain it.

Pluto reminisced about it now with obvious pleasure. It'd been one of her better heists, and it'd gone without a hitch - a miracle in itself! The egg had been discovered just a few years ago and had made US news, for the patterns on the outside didn't match any cultural style known to man. It had been on its way to a history and research lab near Pluto's current hometown when she had struck, breaking into the truck it was being transported in as it was held up at a traffic light. The resulting scandal had been broadcasted internationally, and the police were still on the hunt for the thief.

With a satisfied sigh, she polished the egg to a shine again and sat it on a special stand she'd made on the night stand. They'd never find it, and she'd be long gone before they even began to round up the suspects. 'This... this is how you live the good life.' She stared at it for a moment more before turning off the light, falling asleep knowing one of the world's greatest and most mysterious treasures to date was just a foot away.

Fire stirred from within. He felt life vibrant and racing outside his shell and it seemed to call to him like a cal in the darkness. Slowly the egg started to warm, the inside of the shell was becoming more brittle, and some sharp taps with his beak soon, would crack the egg. Somehow he sensed the quiet of the night, and began his efforts. the egg glowed from within and lines of light appeared where he cracked the shell, like lightning etched upon it's surface even the cracking sound was beautiful in it's way. It was like the chinking of glass, Or ice crystals breaking.

How long had the boy been asleep. Ash had no idea, it seemed longer than usual for him to heal and to grow then ever before. It was like the darkness of his sleep was a cage that was only now being unlocked. A ray of light shout out as a chip of egg fell to the ground. Soon another from where a claw gripped the shell. with more of a butt from his head then his beak, he managed to crack the egg in half. He chirped loudly as he tumbled forward. He was in his fiery bird state, still large, but not as if he was bearing a human skin. He was if he was spun from lava and fire, deep reds, orange and bright yellows flowed as silken feathers. He stretched his wings out along the floor, feeling strength anew, for he was born again.

Huh... that light, where was it coming from? Pluto squinted in annoyance, thinking it was the morning sun. No... it couldn't be. This was far brighter, a molten glow. She finally dared to open her eyes, looking over her shoulder to the egg she'd so carefully displayed beside her bed. It was just beginning to crack. She stared at it for a moment, half thinking it was a dream, before letting out a shout of surprise, rolling over the far edge of the bed and struggling to untangle herself from her nightie and sheets.

Wildly, she leaped up again a moment later, watching the egg in mixed fascination and fear as she rummaged under the bed. Finding what she was looking for, she raised a small pistol and clicked off the safety, getting it in position just as the egg finally shattered, the phoenix's chirp echoing around her small flat. What on earth... a bird?!

She walked around the bed cautiously now to keep him in view as he tumbled to the floor. She'd never seen anything so beautiful, or so dangerous looking. How on earth wasn't he scorching her carpet? Slowly, she knelt now in awe, lowering the gun to the floor. "What on earth are you?"

Too preoccupied with hatching, he hadn't noticed the girl until she spoke. He gave a little chime of surprise, even his squawk sounding pretty. He flapped a step back before stopping. He looked at her curiously, realizing the question she had spoke. He was confused, surely it was obvious to what he was, surely there was only one of him, but all knew of what he was.

"A phoenix..." he spoke to her mind, stating what he thought to be quite obvious.

He felt quite a few itches, and began to preen. Hatching always took some settling after to get comfortable. He glanced over at the girl as he preened. He thought she was the one his mind had sensed earlier. She still had that sense of vitality, of life. she was attractive in her own way. He tended to remain with the one who had helped awaken him. He wondered what kind of life was in store for him at this life.

She stopped and stared at him as the voice echoed in her head. It didn't sound threatening. She set down the gun and crawled closer now. "Will... you burn me?" she asked cautiously now, mind racing. This had to be one of the most important discoveries in the history of the world - a real phoenix!

"not unless I want to, you will feel some warmth regardless. I particularly like the back of my head scratched" He hinted as he hopped forward to be closer to her. He could see the awe in her face. He wasn't vain, or well, maybe just a little, but he did know he was an amazing creature to look upon.

he gazed at her, his golden eyes seem to swirl like the fire within him.

"I am Ashe, Might I know who you are Lady?" He asked politely.

Pluto put out a hand hesitantly, tapping him gently before quickly pulling her hand back, the way a child afraid of the stove would. When the warmth evaporated after a moment, she cautiously put her hand on him again, gently scratching the back of his neck and head. "For something I just saw hatch, you certainly are well-spoken," she mumbled a little teasingly. "My name is Pluto - Priscella, really, but I haven't used that name in years. Forgive the question, but, ah... How do you... exist?"

He cooed when she started scratching his head, leaning into her fingers. He was weak to that, how he loved having a hand to rub his feathers!

"Hmmmm, I exist as all creatures do, although my way of living is somewhat unique with my rebirth.... I suppose it is rather like a flower that re-blooms after winters thaw. My body is new, but I do remember of ages past. Do you not know of the pheonix?" He asked curious as to how she seemed to know yet not know about him. How long had he been sleeping? Long enough for him to become more myth than legend?

Pluto smiled at that, relaxing with the motion of it. Something this beautiful couldn't possibly be dangerous - to her, anyway.

"I see. Yes, that makes a little more sense. I've heard of phoenixes as much as the next girl, I guess, in old stories and fairytales. I wouldn't assume you to be any more real than I believe in trolls, or dragons, or pixies, though," she couldn't help but laugh.

He decided he liked her laugh. So far she seemed an adequate companion for his current rebirth life. he fanned out his wings, stretching some more.

"Ah... I forget how crammed I get after being within my egg for so long. How did you come across me anyways?" He asked, his head turned sideways as he looked up at her, much as a bird wood. as he talked he continued to stretch and work out all the kinks and what not. He wondered if he should change, it might be easier to unwind that way, but he thought it too soon to spring on the girl. All she seemed to know where fairy tales. Obviously he was not a child's story. He puffed a little at the thought.

Pluto sat back on her heels, watching him stretch in amusement now. Her face flushed at his question. "I... stole you," she grinned a little sheepishly. "The egg was discovered a few hundred miles away from here during an excavation. I knew it was in transit to the local historical society, so I sort of just... hijacked my way into the back of the van," she admitted, hoping he wouldn't think less of her. Think less of me? He's a bird. Will he care?

She leaned back a little as he puffed, wary of the hot smoke, though it fascinated her.

"Interesting... Although as I do not belong to anyone, I don't see as how anyone can "steal" me.... so do you make your living as a thief? I have known a few thieves in my past lives." he flapped his wings a little, giving them a good shake. No feathers or downy fell. He was probably the only bird that never molted, although many would say he was molten. His bird form gave off light, for really he was a magical fire. Only his human form had more semblance of real flesh.

He looked around, the dwelling was quite different than any architecture he was familiar with. Some things glowed at him even.
"I am not familiar with this architecture, is it english? I wonder now how long I had been dreaming. what year is it?"

Pluto nodded, scooping him up gently without warning and sitting back on her bed. "That's right. I hope you don't mind. A girl's gotta eat somehow." She followed his gaze around the apartment in amusement. It was newer, and cheap - a typical cut-out apartment. She'd purchased it solely for its inconspicuous location and the surprisingly good security system it offered. Thieves were always afraid of other thieves... especially if they worked for the government.

"English? No... it's pretty typical American, I guess. Normal for this newer part of Chicago, anyway. The year is 2011, if that helps."

he blinked in surprise, america? Chicago? Wait waht year? he had never slept for so long! he had been asleep for almost a thousand years!

"So long...no wonder, things must have changed greatly...." Part of him was excited there must be wonderful marvels, another sad that all he knew was probably gone....

"I became an egg again in the 1200's of Japan.... So much time." He put his head down against his feathery chest cooing slightly.

Pluto sat up at that in alarm. "1200's?! You are old! I wonder how you got so far from home. Japan is clear on the other side of the world."

She paused. How could she possibly summarize everything he'd missed without showing him? She smiled faintly at his coo... he certainly was cute. She'd never had a talking pet before.

"America was a colony that broke away from England in the 1700's. We became our own country, grew, and now we're the most powerful nation in the world. We're on the forefront of new technology, too, second only to... well, Japan," she smiled. "We occupy a continent to the east of Japan and west of England. To the north is Canada, and to the south is Central and South Ameri...." she trailed off and sighed. "I'm boring myself. I'll just explain stuff as it comes up," she laughed. "Besides, I'm not exactly an American native myself."
