I don't know if there are any other topics about this, because it seems like it should be a popular subject. Or something, I don't really know.
I'm really getting sick of it.
quRll ' Sz whO tlkk lyk thiSz
or ppl who tlk lyk dis
Or even people who talk properly.
All types of people are updating their status literally ever five minutes, about things that are annoying. I mean, if they were mildly interesting, I'd be perfectly okay. It's just. I've gone to the point where I have to hide posts from even some of my best friends because of this. Bleh.
I know this kid. Ever type a song changes on his MP3/iPod he posts it.
LITERALLY.
EVERY.
TIME.
EVEN IF HE SKIPS PAST SONGS. HE POSTS IT.
(I apologize for the caps lock, this really annoys me)
Then, there's this girl. All she does is write statuses starting with "Like this if you..." and writes something stupid like "Like this if you .. hate it when ppl annoy you !"
I'm just about done. I'm wondering if it's just the people I know, or what? Anyone else have examples of this? Bleh.

My friends whine at me to get on so we can talk, eh. It's frustrating, but I live.
It's just, I especially get annoyed by the status whoring when I'm mad.
Then there's girls that misuse words and say hateful things, and everyone's like
"WHOO U GO GURL U KNO U KNO"
>______________>" So annoying.

I have an economics major friend who happens to have very conservative positions on topics that I am very liberal about. Finally, I just hid his posts from my main page. I got so frustrated with having to defend myself every twenty minutes.

I have most of the people on there blocked actually. My friends post constantly, and a lot of it is crap I don't care about it.
I do not care if you bought new shoes. I do not care that "your girlfriend's body is bangin." Morons.
And I totally understand the whole thing of blocking people with opposing political views. I'm libertarian, so I get crap from both sides interestingly enough. lol.

I don't have this problem because I simply do not care what my friends post. Is it really worth it to get so worked up over words on a screen? No. If it bothers you that much, have chat open just on your profile so you don't see any updates and what not. Or use the pop out option. It's really not as big a deal as you're making it out to be.

Lol.
I'm guilty of typing things every time something interesting comes up.
But if my friends, don't like it. They can delete me.
It's as simple as that, you don't like their status updates change it to block them.
Or just delete them, don't stress yourself out for something so silly.

I added my best friend's mother on facebook because...well....her daughter's insane and we work together to keep her in line sometimes and facebook is a good way to stay in contact in case something bad goes wrong...ANYWAY...that woman posts about 45 status updates a day. They're all quotes or pictures or tags...I can't even find my friend's posts in the mess of updates she puts up.
I can't bring myself to delete her, though, because I really like the inspirational stuff she posts. But STILL. She really should cool it a bit. It's irritating.

I don't read updates too often since I don't sit on Facebook too long unless someone IMs me or something. I don't get people that post every little detail of their life as a status. Really, some things should be kept to yourself.

You don't EVEN wanna get me started on this. :headdesk:
There is this girl, and she posts about every 10 minutes.
Theres also this guy who does it but its okay because he actually has an interesting life!!
But this girl is constantly like: "I love you so much(:(:"
"You are so amazing"
"You make me feel alive"
"You're the best boyfriend in the world"
"I just wanna kiss you baby (:"
This is the...6th?...boyfriend she's had in the past few months?
Every time she gets a new one this happens...and then she wonders why they leave her. That takes a lot of thought. :sarcasm:
I'm going to stop now....there are many more people who do this in Facebook.
RARGH.

I don't really pay much attention to fb status updates. I only have gamer friends on my account there, so apart from a handful of them who I've actually got to know and like over the years, the rest of them mean nothing to me, so my brain's got pretty decent at filtering out their junk.

I agree, it really bugs me too! I mean, why can't you just type normally. Surely it takes much more effort to "teyp lyk dis" I mean, it's ridiculous. I thought people had got over "wuu2?" and "how r u?" They weren't too bad. I guess I'm easily annoyed by stuff like this. People using "your" instead of "you're" that is annoying too o__o I guess to be good at English you kind of have ignore "awl a dis shyz".
But then, we go to "troll" status' and those ridiculous:
He makes me feel so special ☞Like☜
I can't live without him ☞Like☜
I would appreciate if they couldn't live without him.. but they've been doing it for their last ten boyfriends.
And I just got this from my facebook: "what you think you need is what you don't, and what you don't need is all you think you do. lifes gay"
Mark Zuckerberg, what have you done? (╬ ಠ益ಠ)

For one, this isn't to the point where every day I flip about it, I just got more annoyed because of certain things.
I would delete/block them if they weren't really good friends of mine. People have pet-peeves, and apparently this is one of mine. When I can, though, I hide them from my Newsfeed, so I don't have to look at 15+ status of "like this and I'll..."
I just thought it might be something easy for people to conversate about, because I know I couldn't be the only one annoyed. I apologize if this really bothered you to read. I'm not asking you to read it again. c:

This has to be the most irritating thing that is on the internet. So many of my friends are constant status updaters and it's always about the most mundane things you wish you could gauge your eyes out with a rusty teaspoon.
One of my friends will write all these cryptic statuses about how her life is awful and how she hates people, but if someone asks her what's wrong you'll get a spiel about how "it's too personal" or "I don't want to talk about it". The urge to write "if you don't want to talk about it, shut the f**k up then" is extreme.
Another friend will write about her baby all the time, which is really bloody annoying.
Another friend will write things such as "eating a biscuit LOL" which grates on me.
The worst of the worst has to be the couples or the people that can't seem to stop updating their status about how much they love their boyfriends/girlfriends. Ok, we get it, you're in love. No need to say "I love you baby!" constantly though. =.=

This thread makes me feel like I'm in the minority. For one, I don't even have a facebook, which puts me somewhere in the realm of 'amish' to most people, despite the fact that I have a STEAM, an MSN, etc etc. As far as status updates on MSN, I used to change it every day, but now I usually just find a quote or a lyric that I enjoy and leave it there for a couple days. I have a friend that changes his status every time he downloads a new album, which is like, every hour or so. I never really thought it was annoying, though.

I'm greatful. I don't have anyone on my facebook that does that.
The most me and my friends do for relationships is on our SO's birthdays, or the anniversaries. Every once and a while theres a post about so-and-so's bf/gf surprising them with something, but since they're few and far between it's okay.

This is why I'm glad you can have the option to hide all posts by a certain person, without deleting them. I generally do this when it comes to certain posts made by game, music, or other company profiles. xD
But I can understand this frustration. I love my best friend to death, but dear lord, she spams her Face Book like it's Twitter. D:

I think I have one friend who does that...she posts a lot of pictures and videos all the time, and my updates page is filled with her posts. Oh, and our president, who likes to post lots of videos about political stuff too. But it doesn't really bother me much...I don't really pay attention to my friends' status updates, and I imagine they don't really pay attention to my updates, rare as they are because I'm a lazy bastard, either. At most I browse through them quickly, and then I'm off back to Tetris Battling.

That's my Newsfeed, before I learned how to hide posts from certain people. ^
One thing not the greatest about that is missing the occasional updates that you might -need- to see. Like, I dunno any examples off the top of my head, but there's a few people I can't hide because I have to make sure all is well with them.
Specifically, though, I dislike those who publicly post something about this and that being wrong, and then when asked they tell you nothing. So many kids I know do that.
