If you're like me, you don't like to stay bookless for very long. I save up for all the books I currently have and am planning to get. So far, in my very own library, I have about 10 books (That's like 200 dollars worth of books! *gasp*)
How about you? How many books have you bought and which one is your absolute favourite? Mine is a three in one of C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia. It's the first three books in one (I'm looking to complete the collection soon) and I keep reading it over and over!

I don't know for sure how many books I have, but it's probably over a hundred or so by now. Maybe closer to two hundred, actually. I've never counted them... Basically an entire wall and part of another one of my bedroom are covered with bookshelves, though. I sort of collect them. I don't know why it is, but I like to own all the books I read, rather than borrow them from the library. And if I do get something from the library, I usually end up buying my own copy eventually anyway.

Out of all of my books, my favorites are probably the Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witches series, both of which are by Anne Rice. I've also recently begun reading the Newford series by Charles de Lint. I'm only on the first one, but I love it already. It's probably the strangest book I've ever read, though. xD Oh, and I really like all of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes's books as well. I can't really choose a favorite out of my collection...

I honestly have no idea how many books I have. I know it's over 200. Right now they're all waiting for a book shelf to be built in my office. I'm just lazy and haven't built anything to put them on yet.

As corny as it is, I still love Where the Red Fern grows and still read it to this day.

I have 13 or so novels at my disposal that are reachable at this moment. There are a lot more in boxes because I've been moving around a lot lately... My most logical guess I would say I own between thirty and fifty. I'm not really sure what I could say my favorite is. For the longest time it was Storm Thief by Chris Wooding. I just recently added a few more books to my collection that I haven't read though, so I guess I should finish those before I formulate a real opinion.

I've never counted how many books I actually own. I got a lot of the books I own from grade school because they would give you a book on your birthday every year back then but I only started collecting books again last year so I don't have that many. Maybe I'll have to count them all one day. I probably have over 30.

Eh, I have too many books... And I have only 2 levels (can you say it like that? I'm not a native speaker so...) in my self for the books so they're stacked on each others, in front of the others. It looks terrible! And if I want something from the back of the self, I need to move everything... :( And I have more in a storage room!
I usually buy my books from second-hand stores and Amazon, but now I'm really interested in this new e-book boom. I think it would be a great thing in school! Kids these day seem to have (and at least I remember having) too many, heavy books and after school they tend to sit in front of computers. No wonder their backs get so twisted. :3

Yeah too me.... I don't judge the book by the way it looks... I always when I am in a book store will not only read the summary in the back of the book but I will also flip through the book and read a little of it too see whether I really want to get it or not. :)

I have hundreds of physical books. I am an avid reader. If you were to count e-books, I probably have several thousand. This doesn't include comics or manga or graphic novels.

I recently culled my library of physical books, getting rid of books that I had an electronic copy of. I did this simply to conserve space. Books take up so much room and I am just running out. I used to be a used book shop junkie, now I am a free Kindle book troll. Such is the evolution of the bibliophile.

I think I spent about that much on my leather-bound versions of The Divine Comedy, Faust, Paradise Lost and The Aneid.

I got rid of all my paperbacks the last time I moved. Now I'm all digital for reading and some antique leather-bounds for looking at, plus the engravings.

I think it'd be wonderful to actually have my own personal library. Wall to wall shelving, green lamps, squishy chairs, and one of those sliding library ladders.

I don't know how many books I have, though... There are at least 50 in manga alone. I also have a box in my closet full of books I don't want and a few more in a cabinet.

I have around 30 books, and 42 manga. I've read most of my books, but not all of them. I recently changed where all my books were, so now they resign all on one shelf. Apart from those, I have around 15 books friends have given me to read when I eventually get around to it, which sit on a shelf right below my others.

The Dream of the Stone is my all time favorite book. Half of the book takes place on Earth, as the main character's life becomes complicated and strange, she eventually receives a stone from her genius brother. The second half of the book takes place on a completely different planet! The book has everything I love, somehow compressed into one amazing book.

I go the library often when I can. But I like owning your own books more. You can take the time to enjoy them without having to worry about when they're supposed to be returned. I currently, after just buying a bunch of books from a book sale the library was having, now have 99 books. I love to read.

@Kay: That's where I like buying books too. It's usually where I get new series from. It's nice to spend $.50-$2 on a book. That's how much they should cost, too bad they're so much more expensive :/

I have 20 or less books. I mean, they're not in the 10's and they're not certainly above the 20's. They are either in the middle more between 17+. I love having the books in my grasp, I dislike the ebook thingy. They're complicated and I don't want to hold an electronic device, I want the book with pages and such. The feel of it, the smell of it, it's amazing if you ask me. :D

Oh yes, I agree. I'm not a fan of the ebooks. I much rather prefer an actual book that you can hold and turn the pages of. And I love the way books smell. Both old and new

I love good solid books in my hands, but on the bus ride home or when I'm waiting in a particularly long line, I am known to flip out my phone and do some reading. I have way too many ebooks on there, and on my laptop, but good solid books that I walked into a store and bought and can rightly put my name on... Yeah, about ten. Otherwise, I share the rest with my brother and sister, which brings the total book count to about 500? 600? Idk :))
Glad to see the reading culture isn't totally dead :)

I love the smell of books... Mmmmh. The magazines, not so much. It makes me woozy, but after a while, yeah ;)

I guess I'm just willing to sacrifice that book smell in order to have two or three books going at a time and still be able to fit it in my pocket.

I still pull out my leatherbounds and hold, look at, smell, etc. but it's more of an experience for its own sake now. My Divine Comedy has been sealed since day 1, so it still smells like leather. My Wuthering Heights still smells like burnt paper from a bit of dramatic impulse my ex had when I was moving out. Little things like that are awesome and personal and can't be replaced with an e-book, but for everyday reading it's impossible to argue with the convenience. I can't wait until I'm back in a position with disposable cash to get my leatherbound collection growing again, though.

I have about 200 books. My favorites are my complete A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Holes collections. I also have the seven Harry Potter books. I've also got my kitschy books, like miniature ones about Nancy Drew and a book about interpreting 1001 dreams.

My personal library has over 110 books and counting.
My friends tend to borrow my books.
I get loads of books for my birthday. Most of the presents I got was books.

I like to put fanfictions on my MP4, though. Sometimes I just need something fluffy to fire up my imaginations.

My All-time favorite is hard to say, but I love Haruki Murakami's After Dark and Rick Riordan's The Lost Hero. If I had to choose one, I'd choose the latter. (A bronze, huge, fire-breathing dragon. How could you NOT love that?)

I have maybe a little more than 20. My favorite would either be Saffy's Angel which is the first book i ever owned that my mom bought for me. It made me the book lover i am today. Or The two princesses of Bamerre which i loved and can reread a million times without getting tired of it.

Don't know what book of mine is my favorite, probably because I have a ton of books - most I have bought from the library either at their periodic book sales or the permenant books-for-sale-by-the-front-door small stand.

I don't know how large my personal library is, but it's limited by the amount of space I have for it in my room, unfortunately.
By far the most read books in said library are the Harry Potter books. ^^

I have close to 300 books. Last I checked - I keep a pretty good record of what I have. But since it is time consuming I only update it once or twice a year. In my room though I have about 100 books sitting on the book shelves. Those are my favorite ones and the ones I read the most. I can't pick a favorite, though I have to say the that my Original Webster Dictionary is at the top of my favorites list (it was published in the 1800s)
