Same here. Since I don't have a contract, there's absolutely no bells and whistles on my phone and even though I took a picture with my old phone and wanted to use it on my new phone, I couldn't without paying them to do it. -_- I ended up not bothering. Eventually, I'll get a phone with a contract or something and have all sorts of extras, but not any time soon. The pay as I go thing still works best for me.

same here. it's too hard to tell the future and see if I'll be able to afford a contract.

Oooh, I've got a contract but it's a family plan my mom pay for. Kinda surprised she's still paying for it. *shrugs*

@Crazy - I intend to get one because apparently having a phone contract helps you build credit, of which I have none because I've never owned a credit card or used a phone with a contract or any of that crap. And apparently having no credit is as bad or worse as having bad credit, which I think is incredibly stupid!

@Wifey - Mine took such tiny pictures it was just useless.

My mom is on her boyfriend's plan and my brothers are on a plan together too. I'm the odd one out. Not that I want to be on my mom's plan. Her boyfriend has a Texas number, so she does too. It's dumb. He also has his truck registered in Texas, but he's lived here all his life. Also dumb. Supposedly, the taxes are cheaper there.

oh no. no credit people are willing to give you a shot. bad credit, like mine, makes it hard to even get a job since they do credit checks.

the last phone plan I had I let a friend split with me. she ran up the bill to $600+ and I couldn't afford to pay it off and it was gonna cost me $800 to break the contract.

depending on how good or bad your credit is makes them think how good of a worker you will be (responsible and such) and if you will try and steal money from them. which TOTALLY isn't fair! I am only in as much debt as I am because I lost my job because the business sold so all the bills I was keeping up on, I couldn't pay anymore (student loans, car payment, phone payment).

The world is obsessed with money, it's stupid. Sometimes it makes you really resent the world and its obsession.

I've got too many games to play, not enough time.

people can't believe my son and I live on $665 a month, but we do. there are so many things a person doesn't really need. plus living in low income housing and driving my mom's old car really helps.

@Crazymuch: Yeah, that doesn't seem fair really. Not to mention that people basically try to get you to have as many loans as possible these days. I don't like borrowing money, which is why I quit college.

We totally need a new system. The college system is fucked up. Sucking up all your money to churn you through a process that barely works any more so you come out on the other side with a piece of paper and still no idea what to do with your life and no experience to get hired with.

I never even went to high school.

no joke. they want you to have experience before getting hired but nobody will hire you to get that experience.

My friend works for art.com and her supervisor had her put out a hiring ad to try to hire some people. She told him "You know, if you really required all of this stuff you say you do, you never could have hired me." She's been at her job for over five years now, but it just goes to show that they ask for a lot of extraneous crap that you don't really need to do the job.

Seriously. I mean, I can understand jobs like doctors and lawyers and scientists needing special degrees and lots of practice, but a lot of these other jobs, no. You learn most of these things on the job anyway! Not to mention if you worked at some place else previously, it might be with similar material, but each company has their own policies and ways of doing things. So you're stuck learning almost from scratch anyway. x_x
