We know that Crow would have really liked a baby Yan but crow didn't have time to fulfill all the requirements, this time around at least.

Boo also looks very pretty and shiny, like she can fly. Would you like to fly with us? We can show you some awesome spots!

By the way, this is the last day to donate shiny (objects) before we take a screen shot of what we have as the pile for the next drawing.

Boo would love to fly with you!! ^_^ *flies around in the thread*

Thanks Lore! I hope so too. ^_^

I can't believe people are already trying to sell Yans. O_o' Why?! You would think they'd want to keep something that took so much work to get. O_O Not to mention Yan is adorable!

Last time I checked two yans have been sold and two more were up for sale. I would definately keep mine for quite some time if I put that much effort into getting one. It probably hurts jelly's feelings on a personal level, and unless someone needs the money super quick for a an amazing once in a lifetime quest deal... I don't think there's any real excuse for trying to profit off of it that quickly. I'm not in their minds, but my instinct is to go "shame, shame" in their general direction.

Well you had to keep a daily photo journal/journal of your Yan Yan.

I feel angered too that people are selling him. :( I would only "lend" him to a friend that needed him for cosplaying. Although I would want him back right away. Then again, it is up to Jelly if I am allowed to do that.

I'uno, I suppose there's some aspect of this that I'm simply not able to understand.

If it wasn't a special project of jelly's, if it was never stated that people weren't allowed to sell their Yans, if Yan is just another item we can have (even if it takes more work to obtain) ... why does it matter if people are willing to sell their Yans?

It seems silly to me to be upset if people want to sell their Yans and unfair to have an item available only for those who have the time/printer/camera if you're not going to allow those people to sell their Yans to people who don't have the time/printer/camera.

I'm one of those examples; I don't have a 100k to drop on a Yan but I also don't have a printer so I couldn't have participated anyways.

Jelly bent the rules a bit. She allowed people to draw Yan on paper after she realized people couldn't print him out. :S I see what you mean, but why sell him "now", unless a friend truly wanted one and the other friend wanted to be nice.

I'm of the opinion that we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. While I thought it was rude to sell the Yans during the event (and the same goes for the EIs obtained during the event), I don't see a problem with someone selling their Yan (or any other item they own).

I didn't know that jelly had bent the rules for those without printers; I saw that it required a printer on the first day of the event and wrote off the contest as something I couldn't do and didn't bother with it again. If it had been really important to me, I would have found a dime or two somewhere in the apartment and walked up to the library with the toddler and printed one off there.

Yeah, that's true. If I had to "sell" mine, I wouldn't be right this second. I am an item collector. I wouldn't mind Jelly's head, but I don't know if I would feel right holding one. :-/

Hm... I had to print mine a couple of times, due to the fact he was too big to print on regular paper. DX! I had to shrink him down to 35% printing wise on IE.

Anyways... If I didn't have ink, I would have given up on the contest too. :( The library is so pricey now. 25cents just to print one sheet. Ugh... I think the college is still 8 or 16 cents. ;)

Well I'll just let it go now. I should be getting ready to go to my Pastor's Anniversary. I already missed service, at least I can show up to the Anniversary. :)

Lore, they sort of were a special project of Jelly's. She's been carrying Yan around on her avi for months in preparation and she worked really hard on the contest. I agree that no one should be able to say what we can do with our inventory but it was kind of rude not to wait a little while before trying to sell Yan. *shrugs*

On a good note, I still have power and it is Sunday so I doubt anyone will be around to shut it off today. YAY!

On a bad note, I won't be on much today. I have some stuff to do. *huggles* See you all later. Hopefully. ^_^'

Yeah, Jelly was the only person on Menewsha to have a baby yan for months, I thought it was a staff only inside joke and was really surprised when they made it public, with one of the most involved contests yet, judged by her.

I'm in between you two... anything a person has in their inventory, they can do what they like with, but the point of the pictures was how much you were going to entertain and care for your Yan... and like I said I don't know if someone is closing in on their dream quest or not but selling it immediately... a rather custom and rare item obtained through the most unique means I've seen on menewsha... and the winners were hand-selected by jelly as well... It pretty much was her pet project.

I'm glad to see you're still around, Boo. Your avatar is quite pleasing to look at, and I would miss you if you went 'poof'.

I totally concur that it was rude not to wait to sell the Yans but what can we do? People will do as they please.

I think, Lizzy, it's only 10 or 15 cents at my library to print something in black and white but it's 25 cents a sheet for color.

Hm... It's a dollar for color at my library. :( My library system is going through very tough times right now. They are even limiting hours in October.

As for the first sentence, that is true. :(

Aw, that really sucks. I know some librarians and it seems to be a country wide thing. Lots of budget cuts are leading to hard times for everyone.

Is there a particular reason for limiting hours in October? Like, just for October?

Well to keep all "50" branches open, we have to limit our hours of operations. :( The library system in my county is one of the biggest ones in the nation. We're hurting from what I can tell. :S

I just wish we had a better Mayor. >_<; We had a stupid recall and it didn't help at all. :-/ Shoot, my county has issues when it comes to politics. That is all I can say. Good thing I am not a county employee. :) Or I would be fired for posting my opinions.

That's really intense! I wish things were going better for you and your library system. Libraries are so important to the general populace and losing even a single one would be devastating.
