Dannalhe had been having a bad day all day. His parents had revealed to him whom he was going to get married to, and he wasn't happy about it. She was an elf. An ELF. Never before in history had the shapeshifters, like himself, found themselves getting along with elves. They had never seen eye to eye, and the differences between the races had always been a sore spot. His parents though were very optimistic about this, saying that the princess was beautiful and that he would be happy. He didn't like thinking about being with such a stuck up elf, since they had too much pride. Walking towards the elven throne room he felt his stomach twisting and his skin crawling at the want to shift and get the hell out of here. His well toned muscles were tense and he kept his jaw clenched so he wouldn't say anything as the elven rulers stood and introduced their daughter, and Dannalhe watched as she slowly walked out into sight.

Serenity walked out to the throne room as she was being led to meet her husband.She shivered in disgust.A shape shifter?She good do much better.She waled out and looked him over.She admitted he was cute,but she could do better.She walked and stood in front of them."So where is my future hubby....Behind this guy?"She asked looking innocent.She smiled and giggled at her joke.She looked back at her mother and pouted."Mommy you said I was marrying a prince not a servant."Serenity stood there pouting like the 8 year old spoiled princess she was meant to be.

Dannalhe growled hearing the girl's words and his clenched fists got tighter. His pierceing eyes watched her as she moved and when she turned around he sho his own parents a disgusted look before frowning. "I cam all the way here. Dressed in your people's clothes and all for what? To get insulted? Thanks but no thanks... I will not marry anyone who hasn't gone out into the world and done things on her own and doesn't have her main priority as her people." he stated ansnwalked towards the door. His parents lookig worried.

Serenity growled.She couldn't believe she was being stood up.She grabbed his arm and smiled innocently."I may not like you,but I refuse to be stood up especially by the likes of you!"She had never been so insulted in her life!"You may not be my dream man come true,but I was promised a prince and I demand that you stay!"Serenity smiled at what she thought was a victory.She may have wanted a better prince,but if this man was going to deny her then she was going to cling to him every waking minute.She was going to love him in the most annoying way possible.

Dannalhe growled as Serenity clung to his arm and he looked back at their parents. "Im giving this a week." he growled and kept walking with her on his arm. "Have you even gone out into your people's different cities and villages?" he asked the elven girl who was hanging on him as he walked out of the palace. Looking around at the beautiful people he smiled and began walking. The people were walking and running and things looked very serean and peaceful. Though he kept walking towards the poor side and then nodded, it wasn't too bad, but it was still a bit run down. Watching a little girl run and fall he walked over picking up her toy and helped her up. Smiling softly as she hugged him and thanked him he watched as she ran off laughing and playing. He then smiled gently and walked back over to the princess. "Have you ever just gone out and enjoyed life with your people?" he asked.

The princess clung to her prince's arm as he walked out.She watched as her people walked through the village and enjoyed there simple lives.She smiled and waved as she passed.She watched as her future helped a poor girl up and give her her toy back.All she could do is stare at him.A flush rose across her soft pale cheeks."Yes I have!Do you think I think I'm too good for my people!?"A growl escaped her pale pink lips.As Serenity realized how rotten she'd been tears sprung into her pale blue eyes.She only could hope the prince didn't see her in tears.

"You act like it." Dannalhe stated bluntly as he felt her arnger bubble up. "I am either out with my people all day or hearing them out at court." he said and then kept walking, not caring if the princess was pissed or not. He didn't want to marry a stuck up elf who thought she was the best kind of person in the world. He would rather marry a humble peasent girl then a stuck up princess. "The people are everything to me. I could care less about being a prince or being wealthy." he said and then smiled and waved to a few farming elves. Though their methods of farming were much different he knew that farming was still a bunch of hard work. "So princess what do you usually do during the day?" he asked smoothly, trying not to be as cold.

The princess quickly wiped away her tears knowing the prince didn't care if she cried.She composed herself and heard him ask her a question.Another flush rose across her cheeks.Normally when she wasn't being trained on how to be a princess,Serenity tended to her secret rose garden.Serenity really was a lovely young lady she just couldn't show it.She was raised to be tough to keep people in line."I...I don't have much free time.."She lied."Why do you even care,you don't like me.."She could no longer hold back.She cried and ran back to the castle where she knew no one would find her.

Dannalhe watched in subtle surprise as the elven princess burst into tears and ran off towards the castle. Shaking his head and making his long dark hair brush his cheeks the shapeshifting prince sighed. "Ive never met such a complicated person..." he muttered crossly to himself. Finding his way back into the palace he bid his parents farewell and closed his eyes. Looking around his lavish room he shook his head and bathed. He didn't like the royal treatment here, it was all so expensive and could be going towards their people more then just sitting here not being used most of the time. Looking up as a servant called him to diner he followed behind her, chatting lightly with her until they reached the dining hall. Serenity's parents were staring at him and things were tense as he sat. This was going to be one interesting meal.

Serenity ran to her rose garden until her only maid came and got her for dinner.She saw how upset her parents looked with Dannalhe so she decided to save him.She forced a smile on her face and walked in.She kissed Dannalhe right on the lips and whispered to him."Just play along."She smiled at her parents hoping to prove she was happy.She sat down and smiled almost to brightly for a real smile."Mother,father, you should not glare at my husband it's rude.He didn't make me cry it was a duke and all Dannalhe did was stand up for me."She smiled as she thought of how great she lied.She may of disliked Dannalhe,but she didn't want him under the wrath of her parents.

Dannalhe looked up as Serenity approached him in his seat and then was shocked as she planted a kiss on her lips. Just closing his eyes to not seem suspicious he then smiled at her gently as she spoke to her parents. He was surprised that she was covering for him like this but her parents seemed to smile and take to the lie well. They even thanked him for standing up for their daughter. "It was nothing... I had to do it for my wife to be." he said gently and took Serenity's hand and kissed it before letting her fingers slip threw his. Even though he practically had no feelings for the girl he was pleasentlt surprised that she stuck her neck out for him. Maybe there was a small hope that she was a good person.

Serenity smiled and flushed as Dannalhe kissed her hand and called her his wife.She had to admit even if this guy was a little boring he had a sexy voice and one hell of a nice body.All through dinner all she could do was stare at him(secretly of course).When dinner was finished she walked up to her room and laid on her bed.She was sad she had to be alone and hated the way she acted around her people.They deserved better and she knew it,but was too proud to admit it.With so much on her mind she went out to her rose garden and relaxed in the rose beds that had always been such a comfort to her.

Dannalhe enjoyed the meal, forthe food was flawless and thanked the king and queen before getting up smoothly and following Serenity slowly. He wished to thank her for sticking her neck ou for him, and kept back because he was deciding how to go about thanking her. He didn't want her to get a huge head over it when he thanked her so it had to be thought out properly. Making no sound as he walked he approached her door a while after she had gone in. Clearing his throat and calling upon his courage he knocked on her door and waited a few minutes. A frown pulling his lips he knocked again, calling to Serenity. After waiting once more he growled and shook his head. He had watched her go in there and now she didn't like him enough to even answer the door. Figuring she still hated his guts he sighed and walked away towards his room discuraged.

Serenity climbed through her window just as she heard a knock on her door.She quickly adjusted her dress and walked to the door and was confused when she saw no one at the door.She looked down the hall and saw Dannalhe walking away angrily.She walked up to him and stopped in front of him."Hey did you want something?I was just in my rose garden."She smiled innocently and figured if anyone was gonna know about her secret garden it might as well be her future hubby.She looked up at him and didn't even notice the pale flush of pink creeping up into her cheeks.

Dannalhe turned around surprised and then looked around the princess for a second. "Interesting..." he muttered thoughtfully about her secret rose garden, wondering why she had told him this. Then remembering why he had been following her he cleared his throat. "I was coming to thank you." he said and offered a kind smile. "I was really afraid to come to this kingdom by myself.... And was dreading that first meal with your... Parents." he said and stopped himself from shuddering. "Its very hard for me to Be the only shapeshifter in your kingdom, so for you to lie like that for my sake touched me. Amd I wanted to say thank you." he said and smiled widely.

Serenity smiled and blushed a light pink."Follow me."She grabbed Dannalhe's hand and led him to her room where she kept a small rose in a heart shaped vase."This was a rose that I picked in a the winter,and it hasn't wilted since."Serenity smiled proudly at her accomplishment."I was told to be tough when I was younger so not many people know I have soft side."Serenity looked away feeling ashamed of having a heart unlike her parents.

Dannalhe followed the princess into her room and was surprised seeing the rose. Reaching out he gently stroked the rose. "I understand what you're saying.... My parents taught me the same thing." he said and then lifted her chin. "Tell you what. Come to my kingdom with me tomorrow. Let me show you a place where you don't have to be strong. You can be gentle and kind." he said softly and then kissed her forehead. "Pack clothes that can get dirty and then maybe a nice dress. We are still rebuilding our towns an cities since the last fire. It was devistating to the people, and they have been staying in the palace as the rebulding has been happening." he said lightly and smiled widely at her. "We need all the help we can get." he said and then hugged her. "sleep well tonight Serenity." he said softly and walked towards her door. "Goodnight. Sleep well."

She smiled up at him and couldn't help,but feel something in her heart.She had never felt such a feeling,but she knew it was good.She saw Dannalhe heading for the door.She suddenly didn't want him to leave she wanted to be near him.She even shocked herself at what came out of her mouth."Wait!C-can I sleep with you..?I mean I get cold easily hehe."Serenity laughed nervously.She looked away assuming his answer would be no.Serenity was so lost without any hope that she didn't even notice that she had never let go of Dannalhe's hand.

Shocked as he heard Serenity's words and felt her hand clasping his own tightly, Dannalhe looked back at her. Seeing her hope in her eyes his own gaze softened and he let out a soft sigh. "Alright... Let me go grab my sleep pants... I will be back swiftly." be said and kissed her hand as a promise and shifted swiftly into a cheetah and took off down the halls. He then changed into his sleep pants and then transformed again and ran back. Once there he transformed into his real form and slipped inside the room, figuring he really didn't have to knock since he was there just a few seconds ago. "You don't mind my half nakedness right?" he asked smoothly and chuckled to himself softly.

Serenity flushed as Dannalhe ran to his room and swiftly returned.All she could do was stare as his muscles and she quickly looked away knowing it was wrong of her to do such a thing before marriage.She quickly hurried over to her bed and laid down pretending to sleep.She though if she pretended to be asleep he wouldn't see the lust growing in her eyes."Goodnight hehe."There was that nervous laugh again.She really couldn't help it with the way he looked at her.She hoped she would be able to cool her body down as she let the cool quilt lay over her small frame.her mind was racing...Almost as fast as her heart.

Dannalhe looked down at the beautiful elf after shutting the door and then gently scootched her over so he would have a bit more room. "Sorry, I'm a bit bigger then you Serenity.." he said and then laid down. His warm skin radiating heat well as he turned his body facing hers and draped the covers around him lightly. "Goodnight." he whispered softly before slowly closing his eyes and letting his muscles and body relax. He had to admit, he was quite surprised serentiy hadn't fawned over his body, most silly girls did. His thoughts soon slowed to a stop in his mind and he found himself slowly floating towards peaceful sleep.

Serenity could feel the heat radiating from Dannalhe's body.She slowly turned so she could face him.She admired that even in his sleep he seemed like he was ready for anything that may come at him.He was so close that her heart was racing at a hundred miles a minute.She couldn't resist what she did next.She lightly ran her hand over his bare muscular chest and marveled at his muscles and flawless body.She got closer and relaxed as sleep slowly took over her restless mind.Maybe falling in love was easier than she thought.

Dannalhe slept soundly until the sun came into the room threw the windows. He groaned and turned his face over and finding heat in his sleepy state he wrapped his arms around Serentiy's body and pulled her close. Not even registering what he was doing he sighed in his sleep happily. Closing his eyes again he kept Serentiy close to his well kept body. He was a slow riser and he stuck true to his nature as he slowly kept drifting in and out of sleep with his arms around her body
