lol Hi there! I need to rush off very soon for my Art History class... It's in half an hour.

awh. Well you having fun with it?

It was fun! We learnt about prehistoric art. XD

lol It really was! We covered mobile art (weapons, pottery, statues, jewelry) It was really quite a lot of that this class, next one we might talk about the cave paintings. It's amazng really, the different kinds of meanings you cangive to those Venuses. And then there's the amazing sculptures! Some of them reminded me of stuff that's quite recent.

heh. I'm sure you might come across NeuSchwanstein Castle...I think thats how its spelled....Anyway, that castle has lots of art and such in there. The Lord built it on rather large hill/mountain, some distance away from his parents' castle, and everyone thinks the guy was a little loopy when he built it since all of the rooms have story scenes painted in them, and has lots of statues...I think most common was the statue of a golden goose.

That does indeed sound like something we might cover later on... Like during the middle ages! lol Quite a few millenia removed from that for the moment.

Actually I don't think it'll be middle ages. It was a 19th century Romanesque Revival palace

It's a 19th century castle in Germany, built as a hiding place for a king that didn't like being in the public eye. He was rather reclusive and is often referred to as the "fairy-tale-king". -shrug- It's a very beautiful castle, though I've only ever since pictures of it. The architecture is a mix of castle romanticism and influenced a bit by the kings great enthusiasm or love of Richard Wagner's operas.

Soudns wonderful! It'll be one of the last things we see then, if we talk about it in class.

And I was on a feild trip and got to see it first hand. The walk up to it is bloody long and tiring, but it is all friggin worth it. Absolutely beautiful. I wish I had taken pictures, no matter what they said...
