Yeah, I don't really know. He just writes this cube of numbers and starts multiplying diagonally. What happened to the good old fashioned vertical stack of two sets of numbers?

I get wanting to involve parents as it seems alot of them dont want to give their kids the time of day...but at the same time its not their place. x:

If only I could send you some jelly.
My husband loved it one year I made a layered jelly & after he tried it, he refused to let anyone but my Dad have a jar. Strawberry & Peach make a beautiful combination & taste great together.
I actually won a ribbon at the County Fair with one of my weirder jellies. It was watermelon. People loved it, but I thought it tasted like soured honey. I was running out of ideas for watermelon that year. I had a neighbor who kept bring them to me. We made watermelon rind pickles that year. I liked them.

I'd like to think I'm involved enough in his homework as it is. I help him out when I can. When it doesn't confuse the heck out of me anyway. And I've encouraged him to Google anything he doesn't 'get'.

My parents didn't ignore me, but I was home alone a lot for like 1-4 hours after school cause people were working so I never learned good homework habits.
I sorta failed my way through school due to a lack of...self discipline. Plus 'rents divorcing didn't help.

Personally, I think children's learning is only enhanced when an engaged parent is involved. However...Crossword multiplication? Wtf?

I really have no idea what it's called. It looks so necessarily complex! And yet when I explain simple algebra concepts to him (1+x = 3, thus 3-1=x, x=2 duh) he gets confused.

I think schools should focus on smaller classrooms instead of harder homework =.=
Growing up I hated homework because nobody in my family knew or cared enough to help...

I like math in theory, because you can take the same equation and break it down in hundreds of ways and still get the same answer. Numbers always break down to more numbers. But in practice the sheer amount of the numbers usually overwhelms me and I get confused.

It honestly really got to me (and osmetimes my parents) that I always had soooo much homework. Like it was seriously disgusting the amount teachers handed out.
I always felt so overwhelmed. :/

hummy: It's an old recipe my Dad had. You just cut out the white part of the rind of the watermelon & pickle it. Ours were pretty sweet. I want to find a recipe my Grandmother used to make that was apple rings & I seem to think cinnamon candy was involved in it. I haven't had them in many years, probably since childhood, so it is sort of hard to remember. I hate that my Mom & Aunt never bothered to get any of her recipes before she died.

I like basic algebra, they're like logic puzzles~~~ But most math, especially geometry and when it gets into imaginary numbers...fuck it.
When my dad died the one thing I regret not doing besides not going to the hospital more...was not getting his recipe for chili.
To this day I have not been able to replicate it.

My boyfriend has a big binder of photocopied pages of his grandmothers recipes....I love it.
Sadly I don't have any from my dads parents as they died when I was very young...my mother should know some of her parents(mothers) stuff.
