I blinked hearing the wolfs stomach growl. I smiled some."lets see if I can find you something to eat",I said standing up."hmm what can you eat?",

I stood up, watching her. I really could eat anything. I still had human tastes, but raw meat was still good too. As I waited for something, I heard my dad barking from the front porch.
"Howl! What are you doing in there?! Get out!"
I growled to myself a bit. "I can handle myself, geez..."

I blinke dhearing a growl from the front door."friend of yours?",I asked and headed for the front door.

I scowled a little at the question, then noticed she was heading for the door. Was she gonna let him in?! I ran ahead of her, skidding a bit on the floor and hitting the door. I shook my head to get the stars to stop spinning and blocked the door, scared. I didn't want her to see two wolves fighting... He was still barking in anger, growling and snarling as he did.
"Howl Auburn Bardoph! Get out here right now, or else I'm coming in!"
"I'm fine!" I snapped back at him, hoping he could hear me through the door.

I blinked as the dog stood in my way."i sware its like your trying to keep a secret from me or something", I said sighing."but this is my home this time so I'm afraid I'll have to move you:

Crap. I was being way too suspicious for a dog. I suddenly bolted, running through her house for somewhere to hide. I settled for under the couch (and it was a miracle I could fit under there) knowing that where I hid didn't make a difference. My dad would stood come in and drag me out as soon as that door opened.

I blinked as the dog ran arund then hid. I frowned looking to the door then went to look for the dog."are you scared?"

I just stayed under there, praying she wouldn't open the door. My dad wasn't going to be locked out, though. He started scratching at the door, barking at me. This time, he sounded sad and worried.
"Howl! Howl, please, come out! Get out of there!"

I gave a smile. "don't worry, I'll keep you safe", I said softly.Then headed for the door,only opening the door slihgtly the held in a ghasp seeing a wolf.

I immediately held my breath when the door opened, watching as my father nudged his way in. He was a lot larger than me, naturally, but his fur wasn't gold like mine. It was black, streaked with bits of silver in his age. He ran right over to the couch and got down, looking at me.
"What are you doing under there?" he whined. "Get out!"
I stayed where I was. "I'm safe here! I'll come home later."
He growled. "You can't trust a human in this form! What if you fall asleep?"
"Dad! I took a nap after school! Go! I'm fine, seriously! You can lecture me in the morning!"
He growled wordlessly in a threat, but I stayed firm. Besides, it wasn't like I could easily get out from under the couch.

I ran over to the couch and sqweezed my way betwwn the back wolf and the dog, who i was now asumeing was a wolf too."hey now leave him be,I wont hurt him,infact I was going to get him some food",I said as bravely as I could muster. Not that I thought the wolf could understand me.Then I frowned."are you hungry as well?"

He backed off, to my relief, when she tried getting between us. My father seemed surprised at her calmness, then threw me a glare that told me I was grounded. I sighed as he turned around and walked out, not caring about the mud he had just tracked in. I wiggled out from under the couch and shook out my fur, making a mental note to never hide under a couch again.

I sighed watching the other wolf leave then looked at the now muddy flootr."well lets eat then i'll clean this up, sound good to you?",I asked the wolf.

I nodded a bit and pushed the door shut before I walked into the kitchen for food. I had pretty much thrown my innocent puppy act out the window. I didn't see the point. I'd be grounded after tonight, so I wouldn't be seeing her for a while in this form.

I looked to the wolf."well if you are a wolf, then I guess you wont mind rw meat", i said going into the fridge, grbbing an ice pack out of the freezer first and placed it on the counter. Then sighed."hmm heres ... some.... chicken,and some steak...my parents were saving it for my birthday, but there gone for two weeks and wont be back in time for it so its all yours", I siad frowning some and takeing the food out i cut it up fr him ,placed it in a bowl and sat it on the floor for him."there you go",I said and took the food out of the microwave, sitting down I sighed as i placed the ice pack where i had hit my head."ow',i said twitching some. Then began to eat slowly stareing dwn at my food.

I whined a little at the thought of her being alone on her birthday. That didn't seem very fair. I picked the bowl up in my mouth and jumped up in the chair next to her at the table, putting the bowl down and eating it. I may have looked like a dog, but that didn't mean I wanted to eat at the floor. I whined again, not liking how sad she suddenly seemed. I leaned over and nudged her hand, tilting my head at her in my way of asking what was wrong.

I had to laugh at the wolf when he hopped up onto the chari with his bowl.Then blinked as he nudged my hand. I smiled softly."im okay ... ",I said scratching his hand.

I gave her a "yeah right" expression and went back to eating. Her parents had good taste in steak... It was delicious.

I smiled and started muching on my food. "hmm maybety i could drag Howl over here for my birthday, just to watch movies and such", I said with a bright smile."it be better then being alone again", I sia d tomyself-and the wolf I guess-

I went to agree to that, forgetting for a crazy moment that I couldn't speak. So, all that came out was a weird sounding half-growl. I played it off by pretending to choke on the meat, continuing with my eating. I was happy at the invitation. I had never been invited to a party before... It could be fun, even though it would just be the two of us. Kinda like right now.

I smiled to the wolf."take it easy",i said then stood, getting a bowl of water for him."here you go",I said sitting, and was soon done eating."that was good, for a frozen meal", I said calmly. Then stood.'well i better go clean that mess up",I said sighing some. Grabbing a mop and bucket iheaded for the living room and started to clean up everything. "there thats all done",I said calmly."it didn't take too long", I muttered and sat on the couch yawning.

I drank the water after I finished eating, not getting off the chair until she sat on the couch. I also yawned, just now realizing how tired I was. I picked up the bowl and sat down, putting both of them into the sink. I trotted over to the couch and jumped on it next to her, ignoring the fact that I should really be heading home. I curled into a little ball and yawned again, letting my eyes close. I could just rest my eyes...

I looked to the wold and smiled some, layingon the couch, with myl legs hanging over the side."i wish you could say here boy, and not have to leave",i said petting his head."i'd be a-lot less lonley all the time",I said closeing my eyes as well,slight tears in them as i felt my self doez off.

I nuzzled against her hand, agreeing with her. I lowered my head again and felt myself falling to sleep. Just a little doze...

When I opened my eyes it was done. i felt for the wolf but froze when i felt human skin.My eyes opened fully and I sluly turned. My face went bright red when I saw Howl fast askeep beside me."H-H-" , I gulped."howl?????!!!!!"
