Heiro: Control of liquids, though not on a large scale. Superior senses, strength, endurance and speed and minor mind control/glamour via "rolling" (catching a person's gaze)

Silas: Can shift into a siren or "mer" form, can breathe underwater and can use his voice to entice or stun a person.

Tal: Slightly enhanced senses, speed, strength and endurance, has a knack for finding things.

Sylvia: Empathic connection to water and can breathe underwater.

Leah: Spell casting (elemental), Can shift into were-form to gain superior speed and agility, some psychic gifts such as perception and defense.

I have no idea what kind of character I'll have.... I do have a girl with an eyepatch I drew recently though lol, maybe I should use her.

Well, that was quick ^^ Then again, I tend to be a perfectionist to perhaps I'm just slow. Anyway, I think I'd be alright with your character being a stowaway, it would add a bit more spice to the mix, ne? She would find something quite different from what she was expecting, I would think.

Well, the Captain will be dressed in exotic silks and the like most of the time, masculine but elegant. He has to charm the customers, after all.

Now, basics for the RP are as such:

-It is a historical fantasy with some more modern touches such as the saucy, independent women who walk around in next to nothing with no social punishments.
-You are allowed to be more than human
- My character is Captain
- It is a host-type operation, though I think I have to amend the rules a bit. I'd like it to be in a setting where the supernatural is known, though still not that common. I'd like to work that into the appeal. Also, due to the fact that my character is going to be a vampire, I would like to bend the "no touch" rule a bit. Perhaps they pay extra for it? *shrug*

XD though we should probably decide if we want it to be a separate world they explore or just an unexplored part of the world. ..Maybe they even sail through portals to other worlds seas or something so each trip is different? Just a random suggestion, I'm half asleep.

Staria- I want to avoid heavy, dramatic romance and I hardly think a one-night(possibly more, lol) stand with a customer counts as romance so I don't think it will be an issue.

Hm...Personally I see her as a better pirate but it's up to you. As for the destinations, I was thinking more we'd keep it simpler and just make it random islands with a few known stops along the way. I have a pretty good idea for a route already, and I'll put it up in a bit, but first I have to go get the laptop.

The Junk, also known as Chuán and Djong by the Chinese and Javanese, respectively, is a unique type of ship from china that is made for nearly any purpose. Small skiffs are used for fishing and river travel while medium and large vessels are for sea travel, both near and far. They have many features that modern shipwrights use today on everything from cruise ships to naval fleets.

Their basic shape and construction have remained pretty much the same since their conception around the second century AD: They are wide, have flat bottoms with multiple rudders, a high bow and a high deck. Their sails are moderately complex, involving bamboo slats and battens instead of the typical canvas and rope reefers on western ships. Due to this, though, they require less rigging.

Their other interesting feature was the use of compartments along the inside of the hull and in the hold. They gave greater stability to the ships as well as a place to store a wider range of cargo. They were also used to take on water in the lower compartments to buoy the ship and make it easier to change from freshwater sailing to sea-travel and back. The compartments have been compared to the inner structure of bamboo more than once.



This ship doesn't have a proper bow, but it's hard to find a good picture of a historic Junk so it shall suffice. So, that is all the technical stuff, though I'm thinking you may have been just wanting to hear more of a description of the Tempest, ne?

The Tempest has canvas sails but bamboo matting, thick hemp-cloth and even silk were more common in the east. As for cargo, food, water and the like, as well as material and tools for repair and maintenance. Perhaps some more interesting things as well, such as treasure for the Voyagers to "discover" on an uncharted island and goods to barter with at ports.

The only way to guarantee there is treasure to find is to put it there yourself! Oh, I was hoping one of you would, this just wouldn't be complete without a prissy aristocratic fop or fopette XD

lol Her name is Priscilla, and everyone ends up calling her Pris. Which annoys her unless you're a friend, and that's relatively hard to do. Ti's charming demeanor is just going to annoy her, but she's got a weakness for cute.
