Have you ever picked up a game and played it only to have it lag awfully on your computer or console? (Do games lag on consoles? Wow, it's been a while since I played xbox.)

I recently bought Assassin's Creed II, and finally got it to work on my computer yesterday, but it. runs. like. this. when. you're. fighting. And the video is about ten seconds behind the audio in cutscenes. (So, like all the time...)

*curses self for not checking out how good my graphics card was*

Haha, totally happened to me with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. :XD And TES III: Morrowind. :stare:
I was playing on my laptop, and the graphics card was really horrible. The game crashed the first time I encountered a Necromancer out in the wilderness who summoned a skeleton...the combination of me whirling around, the mage pelting fireballs at me, and the skeleton running around caused the screen to freeze, glitch, and then shut down. :stare:
I could also only play them on Lowest Quality. Anything higher causes everything to lag like a snail.

But now that I have a much better computer (and a desktop, too, no more laptops!), it lags much less, and I could play it at High Quality. Still can't do Highest Quality yet, but hopefully it'll be able to manage Skyrim when I get it. :eager:

Yeah, Ive had lots of lag when I picked up games for my Laptop. It just wasn't what the specs said it was. Not a gaming computer at all. But not that I have my desktop, no more lag.

As for console, there are TONS of things that still lag. Some of the newer games, especially those that multi-platform from PC, tend to lag more than games made specifically for consoles. And other games, that don't lag when played on console but have multiplayer, can still lag if the host of the multiplayer match has crappy internet....or a lag switch(cowards that can't get a kill in CoD use them to make them almost impossible to hit).

Oooo how I hate lag.
I got Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 when it first came out was so excited. I even pre-ordered it and everything.
So that night I set up my PS3 and played for a couple of hours, then decided to spectate matches online. Wanted to see if I had what it took to take on people online. So I find a match, and it's going so well! They're basically throwing combos left and right, each losing health rapidly... and right before the finishing blow my PS3 decides to lag the fudge out.! I'm just sitting there raging at my screen. I ended up getting kicked out of the lobby because of my lag. *Sigh* I was sooo pissed off.
Even when I play DC Universe I get lag waves at times.

That's why you read the system requirements and make sure you can run the game I guess.. try running it on minimum settings unless you wanna go upgrade your computer ha.

I have games that lag on console, anything online, and some times you run into frame rate lag because to much is going on at once.

I've been a longtime fan of the Elder Scrolls series, so I was PUMPED when Skyrim was announced and pre-ordered it months in advance. My computer was a specially-designed gaming cube which I'd upgraded loads... I looked over one system requirement, though - I was running a single processor D: .

So I asked for a new computer for Christmas, and got one, and it is an amazing machine and runs everything from Myst to Dragon Age II to WoW and EQ2 wonderfully.. and Skyrim STILL lag-ag-ag-ag-ag-ag-ags on it. I was so upset.

Luckily, the Blockbuster near my house went out of business, and a guyfriend who works at Gamestop tipped me off about it. I got a brand new copy of Skyrim for my Xbox for $35! I like it, but it still isn't as great as PC gaming... I'm a huge fan of the mod community.

Me and my mates were playing Left 4 dead 2 online and it lagged terrible. . . We decided to keep playing anyway and spent about 4 hours trying to get Gnomechompski to the helicopter. xD

Never again. >/

Have you tried to play on low settings if you're on pc? As far as Elder Scrolls go I read that the entire franchise is kinda mean to pcs o.o'
