Interesting 'blinks' is the first space launch i've ever seen.

I haven't seen any launches before either. The last major launch I can think of is the Challenger explosion, but that was like 25 years ago.

Oh, or the Hubble launch on Discovery, but that's old too now that Hubble is basically retired.

It's good that American launches are finally happening again, now that the Endeavor is retired. We can't be dependent on other countries to shuttle us into space, in case international tension runs high.

Woohoo! They secured their contract with NASA now basically. Which is a third of the cost that Russia was charging us >_>

This mission is only 20 hours 3 days. They're doing a quick dock at ISS to drop some stuff off and then returning. It's basically a test run; up until now, most of SpaceX's missions have been unmanned flights to launch satellites for companies like Verizon and satellite TV.

And they have wings now!
