I totally understand that. I sometimes upset people and don't realize it until later, though.

I switch between being terrified of upsetting people and upsetting people without realizing it.
I've kind of gotten to the point though, where I feel like...unless I did something EGREGIOUS, then you're probably just being ridiculous. There are just some things I'm not going to feel bad for saying.
