Okay I'm back again with another find and i have just woken up from 7 hours sleep. Best. Sleep. Ever. Now you might be wondering, "How was is the best sleep ever GG?" Well curious you I'm going to tell you.
It was ambient music that I had playing through my headphones via YouTube on my phone. In particular it was a Texas Thunderstorm that was 10 hours long and I only listed to 7 of it much to myzsurprise... now there are obviously other forms of ambient music such a a Buddhist temple in highland China or the hustle and bustle of downtown Manhattan from out side a window and from studies that I had found this ambient music can have an effect on any dreams that you may have that night so I'm going to try again with another form of ambient music and see if it has an affect on my dreams are any different from the night before.
I only remember one dreamfrom last night and it was me with someone else on a porch sitting on a bench just watching the rain, yet the music from YouTube was the soundtrack to the dream and the only thing that you could hear.
So Menewsha have any of you listed to ambient music while sleeping? Did it affect any dreams that you had? Have you even heard of anything like this before?
(Now I'm not putting a YouTube video up because we all know what a thunderstorm is like )
i actually listen to the sound of the ocean every night before bed on my phone!! it's so calming and relaxing and i used to have terrible nightmares before i started doing it, it's like my little secret trick to a good night's sleep ; u;
I have a varied mix of tracks from cities to mountains to binaural beats, oceans and then classical music to help me sleep.
I also love simple and plain white noise.
I love that site, Jelly! :) There's a post on Tumblr and it links you to that site, a site that plays soft classical music and a site that's just a picture of a roaring fire and I like to put all three of them up when I want to feel classy. C:
As for sleeping with music, I usually just sleep to traffic sounds because they're outside my house anyway and somewhat melodic. >.>
I can't sleep with noise, I'm very easy to wake on a normal day and it irritates me.
BUT, I have had music seep into my dreams before. This morning was an example, actually. My alarm clock is a radio, and I was sleeping deeply. I don't remember what I was dreaming about or what song it was, but when the alarm clock went off I slept through it for five minutes as the song just threaded itself into the dream's plot.
I've fallen asleep to the sound of rain set on repeat before -- but it didn't change my dreams at all. I also didn't have it on very loud, so that could have been part of it. The sounds of the rain and the beach calm me so much. I could listen to those all day and night!
I listen to music while sleeping, but its not ambient.
I just listen to my general playlists. I actually have an app on my ipod that will turn my music off after a set amount of time. This past month its been nothing but Halloween music.
Music doesn't affect my dreams. Or maybe my dreams are strange enough that music doesn't change them.....
I always listen to piano music to fall asleep. :3 It's very calming and beautiful, and I feel refreshed in the morning! ...well, sometimes, depending on how much sleep I got...four hours of sleep is four hours of sleep no matter what you're listening too...
