This coming week has Persona 4: Golden and PlayStation All Stars Battle Royal. Ugh... not sure what to play first because I'm eager to play them both!

I saw All Stars Battle Royal at E3 I don't think it looks very good in my opinion :/ Maybe it's slightly different, it was a few months ago since I saw anything to do with it. I've never owned an Xbox but Forza Horizon would be the reason that I would get one, my first console was a PS3 I got it when it first came out, and I still have the same one, a 60GB Super Fat one xD

I still own my 60g. because of the backwards capabilities it has. It's actually my second PS3. The first one over heated and caused the system to YLOD.

My 60GB is my second too, although my first was killed from the after affects of a lightning strike! xD

Depends. How long have you guys been together? Is he getting you something in equal value? Are you getting new or used?

High priced products, are well, cautious purchases. Mainly because of the reason why you're getting the product in the first place. If this is something strictly for him, it may be best to go halfsies on so the burden of the full amount isn't on you. If this is something you both will enjoy, equally, then I don't see a problem purchasing the system.

I would certainly think this over. If you live in the US, a 250g system can go for $299.99 new (this one may be in store only. There isn't a buy option). Refurbished can run you $199.99. If he wants the Uncharted 3 bundle, that can cost you $269.99. This is all according to GameStop's website. Other companies shouldn't vary, considering this is Sony's MSRB price tag.

if it has a 250GB drive I'm guessing it's the Super Slim, what my friend did was buy a slim and them shoved a 500GB HDD into it all for less then buying a super slim you could do that DD other then size and it having a pop tray lid I can't tell the difference from the Slim and the super slim :/ unless it uses less energy or something?

Our current one is the 320GB slim PS3 that was bundled with inFamous 2. We did have one of the BC ones but it died on us.

What is BC? Also I am thinking of getting the Uncharted 3 bundle, that can cost you $269.99 - but on black friday it will be 199.99

Uncharted 3 is so good! Me and my friend treated it like a movie by playing together and she was freaked out at some points and i couldn't stop laughing :P I wish we had Black Friday here :( I'd buy so much stuff! xD

BC is backwards compatible.
There are some PS3 models that allow PS1/2 games to be played. Granted, all PS3s can play PS1 games.

How would you know if it's backwards compatible? I know my boyfriend likes some of his ps2 and ps1 games that he loves!

Only first gen of "Fat" PS3's have the BC ability, hell it's only the very first ones (there were 2 "Fat" models if i'm correct? one had 4 USB ports where as the other had 2) they cut out the PS2 BC feature for some unknown reason to me, actually I think it was to cut production costs, because Sony lose money on each system made or something like that?

The backwards compatible feature was taken out due to production costs. Many gamers were pretty upset by it. All systems of all regions were affected.

You can tell the different between the systems is this: 4 USB ports in the front for the controllers. Slim and uber slims are NOT backwards compatible.

So, if you want to find a system that has backwards compatibility, you can expect to pay a hefty price and have many headaches due to the system's rarity. I think the 80g PS3s are rarer than the 60g PS3. Not sure depending on the region you live in.

My suggestion is to do a little research before buying. It can go along way.

the 60GB (my model) is the rare one here, they sold it here for a few months then the 80GB came out, My 60 is still going strong! It will be a sad day when it goes kaput. :(
