I love Kudzu for it's ironic attempts to take over a town in Alabama named after it! Each year they had to go out and hack it back and keep that up all through spring and fall!
I think next year I'll go ahead and (aside from buying the scotch tape) go to the woods and get some fresh pine branches and make a wreath out of those. and I think I will put up lights and decor in my son's room and mine next year ... I'm suddenly excited for next year now!

I do sort of like kudzu. It is pretty, but it will overtake an area if its not controlled.
Someday I may get brave enough to even try the kudzu jelly or chips that they make in this area.

I don't know ... if cows can't tolerate kudzu, I'm not so certain that I could

There are some really sharp curves before & after our house. I don't think I will be surprised if one day one of the idiots drives into the house. Its 35 mph, but they try to do 60 or more through that stretch.
We did have one **** who ran off the road into the driveway to run over one of the kittens. There was no way that was an accident it was a good 5 ft into the driveway & the kitten did crawl into it after being hit.
|
The people who live on the other side of us and the ones that live 1 house down from us are both really nice. They both watch out for us and check to make sure everyone is ok. When my biological father came looking for us when he was drunk (most likely to harm us) knocked on our neighbors door since we weren't home and asked where we were. Our neighbor told him that they didn't know who he was talking about and threatened to call the police if he didn't leave. The ones who live a house down are kind of our unofficial neighborhood watch because he patrols the street and keeps an eye on everyone
I'm sorry about your kitten. I live on a dead end road but I can imagine how scary that is to live on a road like that

Kudzu blossom jelly is wonderful. It tastes a little like grape and a little like flowers. We used to make it every year until my grandmother moved, and now we don't know where to find kudzu that doesn't get sprayed.
Kudzu root flour is good for thickening soups, too! It's often sold as Japanese Arrowroot.

not when you've been up for almost 20 hours,
and want nothing more than a full nights sleep.
if Clock napped now, she wouldn't get back up until the middle of the night.

Eh. I've been at work since 3am. So I kinda understand. They've been giving me yo-yo shifts and my fiance has insomnia so he comes to bed about two hours before my alarm goes off waking me up. I can't get back to sleep after that. :/

we lived in this rich neighborhood one time and our kitten had gotten out (so adorable, just a nub for a tail, hilarious and sweet) of the house and before we realized it, one of the neighbors grabbed him and took off with him. I know this because the next day when we went door to door looking for him and she opened the door we could see him in her front room laying down in front of the TV looking stoned out of his mind. she told us that since they had neutered him he belonged to them and there was nothing the cops would do.

Yeah, we have it outside of our main door. The other light is out and we're looking into getting it replaced. I wish I could keep them inside and we might start doing that at night, but King is a Golden Retriever/German Shepard mix, Cotton is a terrier mix and Molly is a shnouzer mix but is pretty big. We have a small house so we can't keep them in 24/7

I didn't know that about the root flour. I don't remember ever hearing about kudzu root flour before.
I have wondered what it taste like, it does sound good.
Most of the places here that don't get sprayed are so thick with it that I don't want to try to go into it for fear of what will be in there.

that really sucks. Clocks been nocturnal/dealt with insomnia all her life. but Clock still tries to set the sleep schedule back in order. it never lasts longer than a day or two, but Clock tries.
