I would quickly dumped the book when I know there are such cases.
I am fine with just a mention of those cases, but if it is mentioned or hinted for a 20% of the story, I would throw the book/CD/whatever media away.

I don't know how is that book going to give me a happy feeling. DX
Deaths... is another issue. If I really like the character...

It's just meantioned once, it's not a whole part of the story, the majority of the story is about how messed up the government and even the "ideal" government is corrupt too.

I think about it occasionally. Doesn't mean I like it, or want to read a book about it. And there are a lot of good things in this world besides the bad. The bad might seem to outweigh the good, but there is still enough good. You can't dwell on the bad things, you have to try to look at the positive.

Those books seem like they are just depressing. Not a fan of depressing books. :/ So I don't think I'll be reading them.
