always interesting to know what/who made someone choose their username. also do you use the same name for every site you go on? or make up different names for each one? apologies in advance if there has already been a thread like this in the past (also feel free to explain the story behind any mules you might have).

anyways i'll start. back in the time when jelly got me into menewsha, i was teasing her i'd make a character called jackie(or atleast try to work that into the name somehow), and everyone would think i was her. so she told me she would simply change it if i ever went through with it. so i decided i would make my username JackieChan. however, this seemed to me like a pretty average and not original name, so i added "OfTheCan" because of a collegehumor video i saw a long time ago about bathroom etiquette and people flushing the toilet with their feet to avoid getting germs on their hands. All was going just fine and dandy, until i started to notice alot of people were calling me Jackie for short, and it would be quite confusing in threads where both me and jelly were talking. so i decided to drop the jackie bit, and replace it with the initial J instead. always been to lazy to make myself a new sig though. xD

anyways that was the story behind my name. hope it wasnt too boring curious to hear some other peoples stories. xD

My username nemo.love_22 comes from my horse I had years ago - I loved him - his name was Nemo and I loved him and 22 is one of my all time favorite numbers. No big special story there. That's it. =]

My mule, her name is runningwithnemo - because that was what I loved to - go on adventures with my Nemo (same Nemo as before) and I loved to go out with him and go and run in the fields behind the house that he was boarded at. :)

I love old school things and music so I picked Vinyl ha. My first name here was Cassette so it's sort of going with the theme ignoring the other three names I had in between

Sadly, no. I don't have him anymore. He actually wasn't mine - but he was as close to being mine as he could be. I was the one who took care of him and brushed him and took him out. My neighbor, his actual owner, was the one who just took care of all the bills and buying the hay and what. It was perfect. But for all intents and purposes he was mine. But due to unforeseen circumstances - she had to give him to someone else, because she didn't have the money to pay for his vet bills - he foundered in all four hooves, and I've not seen him since Summer before Junior year of HS. :( But I got to meet the woman who ended up taking him - as my neighbor wanted me to feel like she was going to take good care of him, and I did feel that she would. But it was so hard. :( So all my usernames usually have his name in them, somehow.

I've had this username forever. As for the origin, I started to use the alias Violet after watching Ultraviolet (with my favorite actress in it). I decided after a while that violet~ was too short by itself, or most of the time the username was already taken, so I added to it.

I punched my keyboard.

I chose this name a few years ago after playing Okami for the ten thousandth time because I love the game so much. I suppose I gravitated toward the name Tachigami out of all the other brush gods, and chose it as my Mene username. Mind, I left soon after, but I'm back permanently now!

I'd thought about changing it when I came back, and had thought about it for a while, but now that everyone refers to me as some variation of Tachi, I can't really bring myself to do it.

So Tachigami is here to stay! I still love it, so I don't feel I ought to go about altercation.

It's a Monty Python reference. Love me some Python. I liked how incongruous the lofty title of Cardinal sounds with the name Biggles. It's an injoke, but it's also from one of the well known sketches, so it seemed like a good balance.

My username actually came to me in a dream back in high school. I was part of the musical Les Mis, and for some.reason addicted to watching swan princess, so somehow ny brain meshed Cossette and Odette into Codette.
I vary the name sometimes, Codette, Codettea, Codeta, Cody.
My original username Syrannabelle has a very long story revolving around D&D characters and alias'.

My mule is Drakaleth. It's the username my boyfriend most commonly uses for well anything so I thought I'd use it for my mule.

My user name I use it on two other sites but on one site. I had a other name that I used when I first started to use the net. it was sernia115 I used that name on gaia but spelled it serina with 115 at the end. I had that name on gaia since 03 till the first account got in 06 so I used one of my mule accounts. changed it in to my main account kept the same name for a couple of more year. till I got bored of the name changed in sailor star rainbow cause I love Sailor Moon.

Plus sailor star rainbow is my own oc character I made her for sm rp's. I like the name enough plus I tough it was original at the time. so that is how this name came to be truth be tolled. when ever I going other sites I try to change up different name at times.

Mystic, I think started off as a pen name a friend of mine gave me in middle school. I can't remember where exactly the name started from but it kinda stuck from there. Later on I had a few characters that I used to roleplay as that were named Mystic. Here I stuck with it because it's short and easy to remember.

My username used to be Circa Survive, since I was a really big fan of them at the time, but about a year after I had the username I figured that it was too much of a mouthful, so I got it changed to Risque.
It sounded cool and I love talking about risque topics.

Mine was an odd combination. I have an obsession with Phantom of the Opera so that's where Phantoms comes from but also as a kid I loved Yu-Gi-Oh! Still do actually. My favorite cards were always Mai's Harpy Ladies and so that's where the Harpy comes from. But I don't use the same one everywhere. Sometimes I use BlkWidow91, BlkWidow standing for Black Widow from a series of books that I like and 91 being the year of my birth. Or even Dark Butterfly Mistress, have no idea where that one came from but it became my favorite username.

My username came from a character in a story I'm writing I don't have that part of the story online yet but she is one of my fave characters. If I told you everything about her it would ruin the story majorly!!!

She has sort of the same type of personality I have but backwards. While I am always nice and motherly I do have my moments of being crazy, unpredictable, and dark fetish mood. You swap the last three with the first two and you get Minako's personality!

I still have made a pen name for me. That is something I am still trying to work on. *Sigh* I hope I can soon!

My username is simple,but the story is a long one.My whole life,ever since I was little,I've always been very imaginative.I would play pretend and I would change my name-I guess you could call it an early form of roleplaying anyway I went through a BUTTLOAD of names,and I could never find the right one.Then,when I was about 12 years old,my friends and I did a kind of a LARP although it wasn't called that then.We just called it "the game" My character went through alot of development,and I finally found a name for her: Gemini Starr.Not very original,but I liked it.I'm a Gemini,and it really fit the character at the time.The last name I could never get right,but finally I decided on the most obvious-Star,but I spelled it Starr,just to mix it up.By the time I joined Mene,the name-and the character-were part of me.Gemini was like my alter-ego,and I would often thing "What would Gemini do here?" Basically,she became everything I wanted to be.So I used Gemini on Mene just as I had on many other sites.I still use Gemini as my primary name in roleplays-but only for certain character types.
As for my mule,there's really no story behind that.I love wolves,I wanted something unique,and the idea of a spirit wolf was cool.I wanted something male but spiritual...thus,my mule became ~Wild Spirit Wolf~ (I like the squiggly!!)

I usually use the name "seemingly_Harmless" for websites, but for some reason I decided to not use that for this one. Instead, I just used any random name I could think at the time.. And at the time, I was also very hungry..

Well, my username story isn't all too interesting. x'P But I guess I'll share it anyways. My username was formerly Quarter_Queen, after the character (a little 13-year-old blind girl, the second victim of the murders, who was brutally murdered by having her head bashed, and then having her eyes crushed post-mortem) in the Death Note spin-off novel The LA BB Murder Cases. I was really obsessed with Death Note at the time, and just felt like using this name because it had a rather nice ring to it. c:

Later on, I changed it to Q U E E N because I felt that the underscore thing was a bit meh and felt like it was time for a change. :3 So yup, that's my story. xD

I've used my name for the last several years on most games / sites I play. There's someone else out there using the same name though, so if you google it, it's not always me. D:
A friend suggested the name Lokinta for me. I wrote it on a note pad and kept it aside while clicking randomize in a name generator to see other suggestions. The exact same name came up on the generator not more than 3 clicks later, spelling exact and all. What a coincidence! So it felt "meant to be" and I quickly claimed the name.

Though.. it always gives me (and many others) difficulty to say it exactly the way I hear the name in my mind.. hmm!
